I have had swallowing problems for about 12 years now, but the worst of it is waking up in the middle of the night to neck cramps. Seems that the muscle used for swallowing that work together like a caterpillar lose their coordination and randomly squeeze the voicebox, throat, and adams apple in an extremely painful way. I scream when it happens like being murdered.....

A fabulous presentation! Authoritative, comprehensive and comprehensible! Thank you. I have recently been diagnosed with P.D. and presently have dysphagia as my most bothersome symptom. At [17:00] you have a slide mentioning weight loss linked with dysphagia. Could you possibly expand briefly on this link, please? (I have lost some 13 kg. in recent months without any reduction in diet quantity or quality, and endoscopic and CT scans have not shown causes for this situation.)

Parkinson disease 🦠🦠🦠 is a very terrible illness, my Dad suffered from it for 19 years until we finally got a help and a medicine that truly works that helped treat, cure and reversed all his symptoms…My Dad is well again..

My father is suffering from pd and facing difficulty in swallowing, couldn't speak and muscle weakness in legs and walk with my support. He was taking syndopa 150 thrice a day and ropark xl twice a day. What should I do?

Basically i worried for same with mother. Drs told we can slower their situation but can't avoid and there are no medicine 😢😢😢😢 I wonder modern science still have diseases without medicinea😢😢

Great information for those living with PD (and great information for the caregivers). As a SLP, I can not stress the importance of early intervention with my patients.
