Parkour 101 is the official parkour / freerunning tutorial video series produced by Parkour Generations, the world's first and leading coaching body for the discipline and co-creators of the global A.D.A.P.T qualification programme.
Parkour 101 provides insights from the experts as to how to take your first steps into learning parkour / freerunning safely, gradually and progressively.
In this episode Joe introduces the Climb-Up, a key skill in parkour used to top-out after any movement going over a wall or high obstacle. A climb-up means having the technique and strength to be able to pull your own bodyweight up and over an obstacle. It may seem very hard when you start your training, but with the right technique and enough practise it will become second nature.

No need to start in a class, Matthew - like all physical disciplines you can teach yourself whenever you want, and should. However, like all physical disciplines, getting some guidance and good coaching will help you progress quicker and avoid the not-so-obvious mistakes and pitfalls. So train alone until you can find others to learn from/with, or a class to participate in. Just go gradual and do your research. Good luck!

At the end of the video, I had the urge to do parkour. That must mean the video was good at teaching and getting people off their butts and go outside. Maybe they should do this in schools.

I was thinking of it being kinda a standard, like softball or basketball. Parkour teaches very valuable skills, but other sports are very specific in their skill set.

I want to take parkour, but I'm pretty overweight and I don't think I can afford to break any bones. Any advice?

sashman15 not meaning to show off just saying that people should just go out and do it rather than trying to get help from vids

Sorry but this tutorial is bollocks. In climb ups there is no real strength required, only technique. Not sure about all this rail stuff but find a different tutorial cause my climb up is faster and I am half his size
@LogLab

Parkour Sundays There is strength. For a very fit person, it might require absolutely 0 strength, and for an unfit person, it might feel impossible. (By the way, I'm talking about the normal wall top out/wall climb, not this rail thing)
