Nice job Spencer!! Will be fun to see you back to Perrigo for another crack at our course record of 15:30. Love the promotion you are giving to parkrun👍
Local legend indeed! This 5km every week series is very entertaining and you seem to be enjoying yourself way more than you have in a long time. A happy runner is a successful runner.
Try the Des Moines Creek Parkrun. It’s an out and back course, slight incline on the way out which allows for a fast second half. Course record is in the lower 16 minute range
I tihnk its just so cool that you filmed the whole race. When i was watching the last parkrun videos i was thinking that this would be a great add on and now you actually did. very nice!
You are doing very well man. Keep it going, don't try to fix what is not broken... Just keep using that training method, it's working for you. Don't change anything man🙌
I am so happy you're promoting "Park Run" !! GOD bless you Spencer !! I think "Park Run" is a good thing for the sport because I think prior to 2020, the race fees were getting WAY OUT OF HAND and although I'm NOT against raising money for good causes, it seemed the sport had money raising as #1 and the actual sport itself was secondary. "Park Run" kind of balances that out some. In my area {the Dallas Fort Worth area} I just "discovered" a "Park Run" that is {kind of} nearby. That all being said, if I did have a wish for "Park Run", my wish would be to alternate 3K with 5K. I don't know why this is, but the 3000 meters is my favorite distance {non Steeple - not a fan of the Steeple 3K, but sure am "regular" 3K} Anyhow, those are my thoughts - but regardless, thanks for promoting "Park Run". Maybe you could be instrumental in making "Park Run" very popular here in the "States".
Well done. The next time you and Allie are in NorCal you will definitely have to run Bixby. Too bad you missed it the last time. Sorry I missed you at Track Fest.
If you ever have time, we would love to have you try some Parkruns on the East Coast. College Park MD is one of the largest in the country and is a fun, flat out-and-back course!
yoooo ive completely moved on from running since hs, working for a living now nearly 20 and seeing these every week gives me such a great boost , truly fuck with this format its a vibe. spence going back to boulder lesssgooooo
I’d like to watch an uncut version of your races! Even if it’s an unedited version of the footage on an unlisted playlist I’d like to see the progression of your form in real time
Really getting better my man! High a GoPro + $20 bike mount, or even just a bike mount for a phone will make your and your camera operaror's lives easier, and make your videos look more consistent.
Great job on a basically solo effort. Have fun in Boulder! Hey, set up an interview with Frank Shorter who lives in Boulder. Get his thoughts on the upcoming Olympic marathon.
No spoiler prediction is 15:45 for this 5k! Edit: WOW! Absolutly CRUSHED my prediction, 15:22! That is AMAZING speed, 4:56 mile pace, that's only a minute off of your fastest 5k, 14:21! Sub 15 no doubt, maybe back on the series, the 13:59 project? LET"S GO SPENCE LET"S GOOOO!
Yep, total ridiculousness. Apparently the woke mob yelled loud enough that this wasn’t “inclusive”. I was chatting with our parkrun director and apparently even the age graded percentages are now potentially at risk of getting dropped.
they no longer publish the course record. which I believe is a mistake. but is still just a quick search on the results page to find out what it is (until they remove that :-( )
Meet at Runhub Northwest shoe store in Eugene Oregon 6 pm community runs every Wednesday. on Pre’s Trail. Come by when you’re in Eugene next month and run with us.
Crazy how some runners make 3:04/km look effortless. I'm doing Ireland's National 5k Championship and will be thrilled to go under 16:00... Should I wear the Nike Streakfly or Vaporfly?
I wonder if all this 5k work will help your mile strength? You should use all these 5k's as 'base training' then target an 800m race...then just bang a mile to see how it goes.
Probably could, considering his 1:51 in the 800 last year was better than his best mile, but I think all of his mile efforts were run solo last year... but the fact that his 800 was so good, probably does mean his endurance base wasn't as good as we / he had thought. Anyway, I'm curious what Spence has to say about that
Just 1 minute off of 5 months ago!! Bro you can do this and get back to it.. only like 7 seconds off of what Isaiah Harris ran 5 months ago… I’m just livin’ like so what!
