Thanks for the video. Any specific reason for cutting the pcb tracks and get the readings from there? Can we cut the wires that goes to the battery charging terminals and get the readings from there right?

The reason I cut the board is that without the battery it does not release voltage to the output. Even when the mains is switched on, it does not show the display. While you put the battery to charge, and this way as I showed you in the video the display works without a battery.

Hi!!! the idea of implementing such accurate monitoring of functions inside a standard parkside charger with a paltry cost of about 10 euros using a usb tester it is brilliant I didn't think it came to measure such high voltages it's nice to find this out however you bypassed a circuit designed to hold 4.5 amps to insert a circuit that if well supports such a high voltage i don't know if it supports a 4.5 amp load to work it obviously works but for how long it can hold I don't know I hope for a long time however good and congratulations for the project greetings from Italy ciaooooo ualioooo !!! ^__^

This USB tester supports over 30V and Measuring load is much safer for the device because it measures it through a shunt that does not heat up at all. I tested the device, it measures up to 5.5 A without deviations.🙂🤝

Hi I'm having issues with my 12v parkside drill cutting out when drilling anything too aggressive. Do you know if theres a current limiter in the parkside drills?

There is no current limiter but when the voltage drops to a certain degree and therefore turns it off. If you try with a 4Ah battery the effect will be different🙂

IMHO pointless. I would rather prefer option to charge with lower current or to charge to less voltage/SOC. Both to increase battery lifespan.

I was using application called accu battery for this reason, which is telling me to charge my phone when charge is below 20% and to stop above 80%. All this to preserve life lf the battery of my phone. After a few months of usage i realised that doing this is pointless for me, because average person changes phone every 2 years. So use your phone at max potencial.

These chargers are good with voltage, they do not charge to full 21V, but only up to 20,5V.

@@Sasoon2006 My perfectly balanced pack is being charged to 20.8 by original PLG 20 A1 charger. If I do not plan to use batteries immediately, I dont want them to sit at such high voltage. My custom charger has both variable target voltage and variable amp rate. To keep the pack ready, I usually charge at only 0.25C to to 19.8V. For storage I charge only ~18.5V (the moment when green LED diode weakens or there is yellow without green).
