This looked like a nice road trip; of particular note, the absence of litter both inside and outside of the towns you passed through. I wish the U.S. still had that kind of pride, I noticed the same on my trips to the Montreal and Longueuil area for work...what is now too many years ago. Thank you for your time on this!
I was all over the island this past week. Got some good pictures. Last time i was there 5 years ago it pissed rain so the video was not good and I never did anything with it.
Did you drive your EV? My Uncle runs a food truck (I believe the only one?) in Campbell River, parked at the Home Depot. If you're still there, I highly recommend it! Not because he's my family, but it is good food! His wife runs the Anchor Inn hotel.
Yes I took the volt. Ran in gas mode a bit. Charged up a few times at the hotel I stayed. Hit 10,000 km on 1 tank if gas. Filled up last November and still have a little left.
Been on the Island for 52 years never get tired of this drive. Course now we got the new inland highway which is much faster. But sometimes I take old route, just because!! Did you know there is a film of the exact same trip made in 1966 on you tube. Really interesting to see how much has changed, like the difference in the amount of traffic. Somethings stay the same though like the blue convenience store @ 1:09 and the hotel/ saloon @ 10:27 they are both in the 1966 film. B.C. road trip time machine Parksville to Campbell River 1966.
That's like here. I never get tired of the highway 1, trans Canada through Fraser canyon or hwy 3 hope princeston crows nest. Coquahalla hyw 5 is faster but boring as hell.
Good choice taking the old Coastal hwy. While the Inland Hwy is much faster, it's not as interesting a drive... unless you like to go 130km/h like most people on it seem to.
