The last two minutes of this song is pure euphoria. What a masterpiece. There’s more to metal than just writing fast paced and heavy riffs. These guys are writing complete songs with great intros, pre chorus and chorus’ with epic instrumentals. Well done boys 🤘🏻
Agreed. I love PWD's last songs on all their albums, Horizons / Blue And The Gray / Deathless Song / Chronos (color of leaving doesn't count lol) They're all made epic to finalize the albums.
It's good, but Shadow Boxing tops it for me, but both amazing. I love the syncopated singing in Shadows, the way he smashes every note in time with the kick. The whole album is insanely good.
This is an absolute masterpiece of a song. The guitar hook, the overall melody, the meaning behind it including the philosophy of the lyrics... this, THIS, this is music. this is one of the greatest songs I've heard in a very long time and it's being listened to on a daily basis for many reasons, for me. This hits home on many levels and I applaud the band for it. What an amazing piece of music with lyrics that strike to the core.
Echelon739 I'd agree, but if you don't go by genre, there are still AC/DC.. and i mean those guys are pretty much legends, regardless of liking them or not. Almosy every person you'll ask will know them.
yup, think the time i listen to chronos is more that the rest of all the other songs on the album, and im hardcore pwd fan, holy shit this song is perfect
Listen to this, and then listen to Horizons by parkway also. Two of the best endings to any songs in history, you will get major goosebumps and chills. 👏🏽
This song has been my go to lately. Been going through a bad breakup and hitting the gym as much as I can and this song pumps me up so much I go to another dimension
I probably look like a fool but.. I sing this song almost everyday in my car and or work trucks. Its powerful, melodic, and graceful. Its literally chaos under control. Right now I'm blasting it at home, and I don't care if the neighbors call the cops. :)
Just recently discovered this band, and I'm hooked. I listed to their older albums and I'm hooked on those, too. This album is a masterpiece. I'm 47, so I'm oldschool, but some of this metalcore is badass.
I found them back 07, my freshman year. I've loved them ever since. Atlas came out in the exact time I need it. Every track spoken to me like they were speaking straight to me. I was homeless in 2012. I was ready to give up and end it. And they saved my life. They told me I wasn't alone, I shouldn't give up, and fight for this. I am forever thankful for them and their music. Love to hear old school metalheads like y'all are loving it.
08 for me as well when they were touring with Winds of Plague, Darkest Hour, Abigail Williams, and may more. Parkway has been my go to ever since. 37 going on 20
parkway drive if your reading this. I cannot thank you enough for the music you create... you helped me get thru my darkest days, and I still battle depression to this day... when I feel down i turn your music to max volume and just loose myself inside your music. Thank you for saving me with your music. You guys mean a lot to people more than you know. Much love far from the USA
Horizons... Home is for the Heartless..... Blue and the Grey...... A Deathless Song....... Chronos......... the best tracks are always saved until the very end.
The middle to endings of Horizons and Chronos are two songs I want at my funeral. Hahaha. There is nothing better than having the feeling of euphoria wash over you as Winston says ‘In Tiiime’ in Horizons and it goes from there, and the pure joy and chills I get when I hear the solo breakdown then the outtro in this. Absolutely fucking incredible
This song means so much to me. Almost 3 years ago while my dad was in a coma and then passed. I listened to this album from start to finish probably 100 times. But this song always reminds me of him every damn time. As a young kid he said my music i liked was too heavy. But eventually he liked all of it. He would have loved Parkway Drive.
@@jacoblynam923 thank you for your smiley face comment. It may not seem like a lot but thank you. A lot has changed in a year. I honestly forgot about my comment and yours made me have to think about things. While listening to this song again this morning I went back through memories of my dad, concerts we went to together. It was a very nice start to my day which I haven’t had in a while. So truly thank you.
I found this song in my phone a year ago, which is full of albums I've downloaded after a few beers over the years. It was exactly what I needed.... bad relationship going south, my dad just had a stroke, work was getting tougher.... I still listen to it every day. My dad's gotten better in a lot of ways, worse in a few others but every time I hear this song, it reminds me that not only was I there for him when he was in the shit and this song carried me through it but one day he's not going to be here. When he pops his clogs, I'll be listening to this song, alone. And it'll remind me of what I did for him, what he did for me and that time will get us all eventually. And he'd bloody hate this song. His favourite tune is Dancing Queen by Abba....
@@BirdNerd769looking back in your comment about my smiley face. I find myself in tears knowing good people like you exist. All brought together by metal, keeps me going :)
This band brought me back to listening to metal again you guys are awesome I stumbled on to this band by accident on Pandora I was listening to Lamb of God radio and crushed came on I pulled off to the side of the road bought premium access and listen to all of there music over the next couple of days been hooked ever since intelegent music sick riffs and all put together perfectly I'm a fan for life
I really like how everyone is bitching about the way they sound now, but they've been making music for 15 years, and dont wanna sound exactly the same every album, this album is amazing, ire, was good any parkway drive is all around amazing band.
I remember breaking up with my gf back then and this whole album was there to keep me up...Parkway drive was always a cure for me, i really love this band!
Wishing Well, Prey, The Void, Cemetery Blossom, In Blood and this are. If you can't find more than one song because you don't like this album, then you're not actually a fan and should continue to listen to Justing Bieber or whatever pop garage you listen to.
Horizons: "In time, and so it ends In time, it all finds an end" Chronos: "In time, all will return to me In time, all find an end" Love that little throwback, even more meaningful if you consider all the years that have passed since that album... One of the best PWD songs
My ex texted me after years of not hearing from me. I’m over her(I wasn’t for the longest time and was stupid enough to try to get her back for years but she married someone else and ghosted me)but it kinda struck me because I was going through a heard time dealing with trauma after a near death experience. I live in Anchorage, Alaska. Went for a drive down the Turnagain Arm on the Seward highway to clear my head. It’s THE MOST BEAUTIFUL place in the world. On the way back into town as the sun was setting this song popped up and that solo hit at 4:30 and it was the most beautiful thing in the world. I lost it. There’s so much strength and resolve in the solo. It’s amazing. One of the best car rides I’ve ever had.
This is the first time I have ever thrown myself on my kneecaps and surrendered to a metal song like this one. wow ..... I felt it right into my heart. really well made Parkway drive. 🤘 Love from Denmark
If you havent seen this album for what it really is open your mind and actually feel the music, this really is one fucking intense album, these boys really put themselves into this one, you dont have to like it but respect where respect is due. Seems like these dudes hustle harder the older they get, go watch their documentary. These dudes self funded europe trips sleeping in fields, playing venues to 15 kids two years later selling out that same venue. Parkway are legendary and this solidifies it.
During a time in my life where there was no room for error.. where achievement of a certain goal needed to be achieved.. this song was my greatest influence.. thank you parkway drive...
Not a huge fan in the singing category, but...wow! Everything fits amazingly well in this song. Probably my favorite of all time (at 41 😬).The whole album is amazing!
Indeed, at first I was like " okay its not bad, but its weird from parkway drive" 2 days later and I cant stop listening. Its an awesome album so many feels and emotion in everything.
this wouldn't be out of place on the more melodic previous albums. just a great showcase of melodic metalcore. Jeff Ling has cracked the code of uplifting melodic journey esque epicness
Lyrics You answer to me I am the thunder and the rain The confusion and the pain And when I leave, I will wash your wounds clean And leave them golden I got the whole world swinging from the end of my chain And I'm calling I got your life in my hands and every debt will be paid And I'm calling Between the spark and the ember You are smoke threading the wind In time, all will return to me In time, all find an end You answer to me I am the fight and the fury Gravity in all its glory And when I come around I bring the hammer of god down upon you I got the whole world swinging from the end of my chain And I'm calling I got your life in my hands and every debt will be paid And I'm calling, stop! Between the spark and the ember You are smoke threading the wind In time, all will return to me In time, all find an end In time, all will return to me In time, you'll find no other way You answer to me I am the end and the beginning I am the end and the beginning I am forever I am eternal and nothing stands against me You answer to me You answer to me You answer to me
I can not explain how good these guys are the music the voice is so good one of my absolute favorite bands keep doing what what your doing it is amazing
In my opinion this the best PWD song. The last two minutes solo is insane, like Iron Maiden (afraid to shoot the strangers), like metálica Fade to black, etc etc The best
[Intro] You answer to me [Verse 1] I am the thunder and the rain, the confusion and the pain And when I leave, I will wash your wounds clean and leave them golden I got the whole world swinging from the end of my chain and I'm calling I got your life in my hands and every debt will be paid and I'm calling [Pre-Chorus] Between the spark and the ember You are smoke threading the wind [Chorus] In time, all will return to me In time, all find an end You answer to me [Verse 2] I am the fight and the fury, gravity in all its glory And when I come around, I bring the hammer of god down upon you I got the whole world swinging from the end of my chain and I'm calling I got your life in my hands and every debt will be paid and I'm calling, stop [Pre-Chorus] Between the spark and the ember You are smoke threading the wind
Loving the rock n roll solos on this album. Lyrical masterpiece ... If I wanna hear boneyards I go listen to boneyards.. lol. Where is the problem with something new. Great Job Dudes, Can't wait to see you next month
The problem is when something new sounds shit. This one is an evolution of their sound, yet still PWD at the core. The other songs are nowhere close and are mostly... well, shit.
damn dude they are fucking epic, i love this new album. Except the lyrics that are too "metalcore" for me but, well i'm french so i don't really care haha
I'm usually not a fan of bands changing their whole identity *cough cough* Avenged Sevenfold, but this album is pure fucking gold. I'm very thoroughly impressed
@@thomasnoordzij9940 Agree. A7X have always improved, and The Stage is for sure one of their most experimental and interesting albums. Never understood why people hate on them or on every other records that came after City Of Evil
I'm not a metalhead and I enjoy different genres. The fact that this song is from the year 2018 gives me good hopes for the future of music. Vocals and sounds are spotless. And the lyrics OMG.. They really picture the fact that we are nothing but small living beings in the hands of CHRONOS (Which is the greek word for TIME). What a piece of art!
This is very powerful. Easily the best song on the album and an excellent sequel to Horizons, which is likely my favorite song of all time. I can feel this.
This whole album is a masterpiece. Definitely my favorite by them so far with the most meaning. I blast this in my car on the way home from work everyday!
PWD is one of two groups that I listen to in whatever mood I am. never gets boring although I have listened to for ex: this song a million times and still love it :D btw the solo at the end is one of my fav of all times 🤘🏻
This fucking song is so awesome. I never even heard of this band before yesterday. This is pretty progressive shit and at the same time they don't stray far from the core riff. I haven't been this taken with a song since the first time I heard Prophets of Treason...... Very glad to have discovered this band.....
The perks of living in a small village in Greece without neighbours for a mile makes me wanna put the volume so high my eardrums will pop…this song is an anthem to metal core genre ❤
This song shows the progress that my favorite band has had, every time I listen to this album I start to cry they have written a musical poetry that has touched the soul
These new songs are so much more unique and memorable than the older ones. I came back to this one after not listening to it for a while and I still remembered the main riff and structure because it has its own character and stands on its own feet like evey song on this album. That's why this album is their best for me.
Fade to black was about guitars getting nicked.... this shit's about death of loved ones and the meandering of life, mate. This is philosophy in motion. I still listen to this every day.
It's sad that people can't realise how this whole entire album is an art piece. It literally paints a picture but you're all too blinded by negativity to see it.
Satan_pineapple Most of this album's songs are flat or "just" good (they re good but bad compared to their previous albums) Parkway always did something punchy and this album is kinda boring... I'll stick to the few songs I like and that s it.
Adrien I know what previous albums are like but this one is obviously a concept album and its really good. Sorry that you find it boring and bad compared to the others.
Satan_pineapple Didn t say it's bad... I actualy dig this album (trying to play some of the songs with my guitar) but for a PD album I thought it would have been better cause I ve been waiting for more than a year now ^^
This song is full of references to the title track off the album Horizons, especially at 3:20 or so, sounds like the end of Idols and Anchors. Also the lyrics: "In time All find and end" very nice
