I had to "like" this video, if for nothing else, the hilarious take-offs! :) Thanks for posting. I've been trying to decide on my next plane, and this one is a frontrunner. It looks great in the air from all the footage I've seen.
No one has mentioned it in 5 years, but the silver unit on the upper wing is the radiator for the engine. I'm hoping that Parkzone reissues this plane, I would love to repaint it and fly it, of course
Two years ago I know... I don't know how I missed this airplane. I'm seeing it now though. I want one! I have the 20yr old Simprop/GreatPlanes one that's green , purple and light gray. It's only 3 channel but it flys really good. Especially after I converted it to brushless.
Too bad they discontinued it. Sure beats the old way we built them from plans, using balsa, plywood, and assorted hardwoods where needed. But the sheen of doped silk and varnished plywood made them look great!
Thomas Gato They are really cool. So cool in fact that it looks like one is in a new credit card commercial :) I have a lot of respect for those that have built from plans. GB
***** Thanks GB. I'll have to look for that one! Myself, I started out with single channel models, using an old adams actuator dad gave me, and a cox 010 for an old design called the Lightning Bug. The rudder was sewn on to the fin for hinging. Moved up to 3 channel after that with rudder, elevator, and throttle, and thought that was heaven! Then came the addition of ailerons! Wow! Now that was big league to me!
No.......I had to sell this one because it is so hard to fly. You need to be able to fly well before you can take on a WWI plane. I admire your taste though. How in the heck did you find this video? It is really old lol
GBLynden's RC lol, my luck keeps finding the outdated planes I guess, I found the dynam albatros on motion rc, I went watching some videos about it, then I found some videos about parkzone albatros, I wrote that in the search and your video just came up. Also, I am surprised it's hard to fly, I mean after all it's a bi-plane, how hard can it be?
My biggest issue with it was not wanting to come down and the weird "tail wheel". I would be able to handle it fine now, but it was just too much and that was after I could fly the Wildcat and my Corsair pretty well. I really hope they do a UMX version of this on 2S. Now that would be fun!
Yeah, the UMX still would not be great for you. Get comfortable with the Wildcat and then a lot of doors will open up for you. I honestly can't wait to recommend planes for you to fly once you get some real world flying under your belt :D
+Ricardo Grade lol yeah, that was only my second parkflyer and the biggest plane I had purchased to date. I was used to flying little micros for the most part when I made this video.
