I have been wanting a plane for many years and have flown a few toy grade 'park flyers' and I thought it was time to finally get a nice one!
I have been practicing on my flight sim off and on over the years and thought I was ready ha ha
As soon as the plane was off the ground I could tell my brain was trying to fly a quadcopter and knew I was in trouble LOL
On that last turn, I lost control and when it went inverted It was All Over!
Excellent plane though and the build quality and fit and finish are amazing, I was very impressed with it and will rush out and get another one and have another try..................Hmmm or maybe a training plane ha ha (-:
This is how good this plane can be flown:
• New Parkzone Artizan
If you noticed my Cool FPV PILOT T-shirt, It was given to me as a gift by my Great mate BD Seidler. He is a fantastic guy and an amazing drone Pilot, making some really Incredible videos. Subscribe to his RU-vid channel, you won't be disappointed!

That are the moments when also the pilot is coming down! Everybody of us know this feeling. But no passengers were injured as it only is a model plane. And that's the most important thing even a lot of money is lost. Cheers Peter and be happy that it wasn't your fantastic Unimog!

Hopefully the electronics are ok. That would be the most expensive part to replace. Foam should be the cheapest. I'm sure you'll get that bird flying again. It's not how many times we crash. It's all about how many times we get back up and try again. Hope to see the bird soaring the skies soon mate! Thanks for sharing & thumbs up!
@JaxTellerRC
@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
+iROCK™ RC All the electronics are fine, I have been watching youtube vids on how to repair foam planes, apparently it's really easy! I have already put the foam parts that were bent out of shape in boiling water and they have reformed themselves back to the original shape and now I just need to get flexible CA glue and glue all the other bits back together and reinforce them with some clear fibreglass sticky tape. Should have it back together by tomorrow night (-: Oh happy days! Thanks my friend, I will always get back up and keep on pushing forward (-:

Ouch... very ouch baby! Been there, done that, welcome to flying... or not so much :) It sucks but it is an unfortunate part of not only learning to fly but something that happens now and again as part of flying and from numerous causes! Like the small Cub then maybe a larger high wing and then sport planes, warbirds and the F15, just my two cents :) Another thing is the "Two mistakes high" altitude to give more time to react, scrub off some airspeed for a better controlled crash if possible and needed! Sorry about that and feel your pain, we all do! Thanks and thumbs up for sharing! Cheers!

I admire you for taking to the air, I know you can fix it and probably have already, but this is the very reason (one of them) why I like the slow scale crawling on terra firma. Thanks for sharing :-)
@JaxTellerRC
@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
+joliousvideous I have been into RC for so long now, I thought planes must be fun too, why not give it a go ha ha. I just chose a far too advanced plane, it is so twitchy. I just held it in the turn for too long and it went inverted and straight into the ground. It was hard to see where it was too. A few more minutes to get comfortable with it and I reckon I could fly it. I have already started the fixing process and I;m sure it will be back in the air. Thanks mate (-:

Hey Jax, those look like nice clean breaks it should glue back together, keep working on it, maybe drop back to a 3 channel PZ cub to get your air bearings, 4 channels especially mid or low wings are not very forgiving, High wings are always the best to start with, this will be a fun plane once you get your orientation right, don't give up, flying is a fun part of RC, I have buried a few in the last 5 years but have enjoyed flying.
@JaxTellerRC
@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
+TOYBOX RC Yeah I have already started the repair process, boiling water on the bent bits and I have the CA glue and some clear tape with strands of fibreglass in it, I will glue it up on saturday and then put it away for a few months. I will buy a supercub and practice with that for a while first (-: Thanks heaps mate!

Just watched the artizan videos, the repairs did well my friend , they seem to fly pretty much the same as the Chris Foss Acrowot Foame,that i have ,also if youre on the lookout for a good 3d plane. i can recommend the St Models Acrobat, a bit bigger than the arty ,running 4cell 2200 ,lots of power and the plane is a good price

+S13mASSImo Yeah I knew to watch out for the prop and keep it's ass end down. Sorry to hear about your nose over. +The RC Element Yeah it's not the best way to start the day ha ha I will fix her up and have another try next weekend if it all goes well. I did have a look at the dual rates and expo and read up on whats best for this plane and had the servo horns set on the beginners holes, but without flying it it's hard to know what difference any of that will make, might make it unflyable! We will see, cheers mate for the great tips and words of encouragement (-:

I feel your pain, I did the same dang thing! I though I was the bomb with all my sim training. I have been doing great with my apprentice then bam in 3 pieces in about the same amount of time. Glued it all back then notice the shaft was bent, bought a new motor and bent the shaft again and busted up the plane even more. N0T a good plane for beginners :( I just put it back together again new fuselage and waiting for a new shaft to come. I hope I have better luck next time. Good luck to you!!!
@JaxTellerRC
@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
+Mike Cox Yeah, it's amazing how the flight sim pretty much teaches you nothing ha ha. It's totally different in real life with the wind blowing and gusts and the risk factor. I have glue this plane all back together now and put some carbon fibre pins through the foam where the cracked pieces are, I think it's pretty strong. Only flying it will tell LOL Since this flight I bought myself a small training plane and have taught myself to fly really well with it, check out the vid I did about it. Good luck with the flying Mike, it's really fun and actually not that hard once you get a bit of air time in. Landings are so fun (-: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aAR0GRKqcFw.html

+Jax Teller RC Yeah I was thinking as we were looking at the damage. Think it can b fixed. Epoxy and tape it till it can't leave the ground, lol Who cares what it looks like. u can't see the repairs once it's airborne anyway. Flim round 2, we all want to see u succeed. U said something about practicing on a flight simulator...... I bet u can fly it in fpv. It's funny but I can't fly a helicopter. I mean I can barely hover it but once I go to FPV mode, I can rock a chopper like no tomorrow in the sim. Awaiting a part 2 vid. Not a 2 parts vid....lol

Noooooo! Bugger...aw man that plane was looking sweet... Like you I been hankering for a plane for years, if I hadn't bought the Q500 I was going to get a cheaper quad and get a Sky Observer or the HK Cloudsurfer that RC Model Reviews reviewed just recently for the FPV. I need to get a trainer first tho' flying it FPV will be the most fun :)
@JaxTellerRC
@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
+Ken Oath Yeah I should have got a trainer first too ha ha I looked at heaps of planes before deciding on this one, I basically bought it because it was on special from $350 and I thought I could handle it and I bet I could have if I had gotten a few more minutes just to get the hang of it. I am really keen on boats that land in water for some reason. Yeah a good fpv plane would be great, especially if you have head tracking goggles and can look out the window (-:
@kenoath007
@kenoath007 8 лет назад
+Jax Teller RC Yeah... with all your Sim' practice I'm sure you would have had it down pat in no time. HK had the Quanum Headtracker to suit our goggles for less than $40 from memory tho' I can't find it now that I'm looking for it, the pan tilt mounts are pretty cheap on ebay.. I just seen they replaced it with the Z-1000 headtracker for $49 :) Some of those RC seaplanes are awesome...

Ken Oath Yeah, I think it's ok on the flight sim, but as soon as I was standing in the field my brain switched to quadcopter mode because thats what it knows, a bit of a brain fart really ha ha Headtracker would be great on a plane for sure, racing drone not so much! Yeah I like seaplanes (-:

Jax Teller RC great plane, super light, nice wide long wings, a good rudder ratio to its size, and those different modes sound proper learner helpful. cant believe they got those three to fly as one that is pretty mad, but I can see it with this one. it looks really stable and lower speeds which doesn't seem to be that common. Proper like it, I would wanna clock say 8-12 hours on intermediate then make the change for sure :-) on a calm day this would be like a self instructing plane that teaches the operator how to fly, while providing a bit of a back up like a driving instructors pedals do. Price is really good to, I could definitely do with one of these to learn to :-) ive just been holding off on the flying rc atm as I want to plan a nice ground station but this really looks like the first perfect plane. good choice for sure
@JaxTellerRC
@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
BattonFive It's really great, I have been up early and already flown it 4 times, just waiting for my two batteries to charge and I'm back for 5 and 6 (-: I have worked out that landing has a lot to do with steering by the rudder and very little aileron inputs. Hurry up battery!! ha ha
@battonfive
@battonfive 8 лет назад
Jax Teller RC:-D yep I think it was leave aileron's as they are, reduce prop speed and let her glide down with gravity rather than angling her down :-) Even more so for the bigger planes as well :-) but yeah looks like you could do with a spare set of batteries to swap out while the others are charging, from the sounds of it, it sounds like it justifies the means for this little bird. Get that flight time in for sure on this, really does look like it will line you up for flying pretty much any other plane :-D
@JaxTellerRC
@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
BattonFive I think it's much better than a flight sim because the wind plays a major factor and because its so small and light it gets blown around like crazy even in light winds, so it forces you to really put a lot of effort in to fly it and land it. I love it. I have already ordered 5 more batteries (-:

wow bro that didn't go the way you planned lol glue!glue!glue! 250.00 is alot to just trash it i flew my xmas gift from my girlfriend last week but didn't realize cam angle on my head cam had got knocked out of wack flew & crashed for over 12 min with no footage i was so happy because i flew my 1st plane & so mad cause i didn't get it on film lol little 36.00 2 ch plane did pretty well but you were right doesn't like wind winds were 5 mph when i got there with gusts to 10 mph about 5 ok could take off & actually have fun 10 couldn't hardly get off the ground but white planes are really hard to see lol looking at a 2ch yellow plane for my next one oh after i get the hang of this one of course lol but your right that is a nice looking plane you have hope you fix it have fun RCing

+Budget Guy RC Those little 2 channels are fun to fly for sure, I have flown quite a few many years ago. It's a great feeling successfully flying a plane, even those small ones. I'm happy to hear you had a successful flight, shame you missed it with the cam, I would have loved to see it, will you fly it again? This plane is quite powerful and fast, I think I bit off more than I could chew with this acrobatic beast ha ha, it just wanted to do barrel rolls and stuff and I was telling it NO! LOL (-: It sure was hard to see against those white clouds and that was part of the problem too, I'm sure I can fix it having looked at it a bit more, so hopefully I can get a few more seconds flight out of it the next time. Thanks heaps Marshall

In the video this park looks quite big but it isn't really and its surrounded by tall trees, and the plane moves so fast that I had to turn too much without having time to get a real feel for the controls, next time I will find a much bigger more open area. +DriveFlyRc Ha ha, I think I just bought the wrong plane, this is no beginners plane, it's a stunt plane! You would probably want an FPV type plane I presume, I would say they are a bit easier to fly, not so twitchy on the sticks? Yeah it does suck, but I have already started repairs, apparently these foam planes can be repaired even if they are smashed to bits, just so long as you have most of the pieces! (-: Cheers buddy

Ouch!. That's why the wife has never let me have planes gone to quickly mate. Can you just buy the polystyrene parts you need to fix it or do you have to purchase another kit.
@JaxTellerRC
@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
+Basildon Trail Blazing Buddies Thats why I have never had planes either, because I always suspected this would be the outcome ha ha You can buy all the parts seperately, wings, fuselage etc, but I have been looking at youtube vids today on fixing foam planes and apparently they have certain glues that just glues the parts back together and creates a stronger bond than the actual foam has, so happy days I just need to buy some of that glue and we will be on the way back to the second crash (-:
@BasBoyRC
@BasBoyRC 8 лет назад
That's not bad you can buy glue to fix the plane for a second go. But this is why quad copters are so popular more stable to fly than other Planes or helicopters.

@JaxTellerRC 8 лет назад
DutchRC Adventures Yeah I'm sure you have mate (-: No nothing as fancy as phoenix,it's quite and old sim, I don't even know if it has a name, it was like 45 dollars from china, but i did teach myself to fly quadcopters with it even though it has no quadcopters, i just used a slow large scale helicopter that handled pretty much the same as my hornet 460 quad that I learnt with and because it has heaps of planes on there I flew them quite a lot as well and had great success. I used to fly until I fall asleep ha ha. Talking of sleep it's midnight here and I am signing off. Chat more tomorrow buddy (-:
@DutchRC
@DutchRC 8 лет назад
+Jax Teller RC Ohwww okee okee :) Well, to set the record streight: Phoenix isn't fancy eighter.. Compared to a good simm, Phoenix is more a game..
