I have just started watching Gintama, and I'm liking more and more of it. Its probably the only anime I can think of that is serious at times but also breaks the fourth wall, using a lot of references from other anime's, and still able to make it work!!!! And this new arc it looks like we will have deep serious stuff coming soon.
I can picture a battle between Toshiro and Katsura. Katsura: I will not go easy Toshiro-san Toshiro: It's Captain Hitsugaya to you! Katsura: It's not "you" it's Katsura.
"Even if you are the main character, you can still die" I keep telling them that too Gintoki and nobody will FUCKING LISTEN!!! When their kakugane/spirit energy/dragon balls/hidden chakra/deus ex machinas all run out, who is going to revive them? The power of friendship!?!?
+Thu Phương Nguyễn In one episode, gin finds that baby and everybody assumes it's his until they find out that it's another person's. It's also the first episode where you see the blind assassin who uses smell to navigate who also used the cursed sword in the first serious arc of the anime so it has to be before episode 50.
@801Milcah Not really Gintama (manga) started on 2003 its anime started on 2006 Beelzebub (manga) started on 2009 its anime started on 2010 so basically the baby part in Gintama is not a rip-off or Parody of Beelzebub
@OROgoldenpair1 Yes,they have a parodying by the first 2 scenes, gintoki says "-ttebayo(the short form of dattebayo)" and katsura says "dattebayo" which is the naruto's catchpharses. For the third scene, they just tell that bleach is after gintama (I think for the first 177 episodes) by gintoki cosplay into ichigo, shinpachi cosplay into ishida, but for kagura,I don't sure who she cosplay between rukia and inoue. And the last scene, beelzebub make a parody of gintama(just ep.51-52).
The bleach thing is legit. They were in a time block where they ARE after bleach (Gintama aired at 19:30 while bleach aired at 19:00). Just free and friendly advertisement.
Mind you Beelzebub was being written specifically for ShounenJump before it was released. Perhaps the director's saw it and parodied it so that when Beelzebub came out people will know of it from Gintama? Well it's all hit and miss
yeah the baby part reminded me of beelzebub, but then I thought Gintama was much older so it probably wasn't possibe. Maybe the mangaka of Beelzebub was inspired by this XD
@HumbleOtaku He's reffering to the Naruto Shippuden movie where according to Priestess Shion, Naruto is going to die. If you notice on the back of the magazine that Gintoki is reading, its the front cover for the movie. So no worries Naruto isn't going to die.
oh theres also a naruto parody that when gin and kagura eating and gin says the famous(i think) phrase of itachi "if you wanna live this world, hate me and revenge to me"(i think but something like that. >>you filipino?
@aryagamis No, the letter that written in Zangetsu is "Zangetsu", not "Toyako (Lake Toya)". You have to watch near at the letters, so you will know that it written Zangetsu, not Toyako.
@loosfoos i looked it up, this episode came out a year before beelzebub got published, in 2007.Plus, this happened in the manga as well. So, you know this happened in the manga a year or two before the anime aired.
And now Gintoki is using "Final Getsuga Tenshou".... And what if he will strike "mugetsu" in front of a lot of amantos especially who click the dislike button...
