Saw a picture of them with no instruments before seeing them with any instruments. I didn't have any guesses as to what the other three played but I instantly knew who the bassist was. Just by sight. You can spot 'em a mile away.

I saw them open for protomartyr at an afterparty for pitchfork and the girl I was kind of dating leaned over to me and said "I kinda want to fuck the bassist"

Though we can hear Minutemen, Television, Big Boys, Velvet Underground, the Byrds etc etc etc, they are completely themselves, the Parquet Courts! And this is a wonderful thing. All great art is built on the past, yes?? And I thank these guys for sharing their flawless sound.

I agree! There’s totally a parquet courts sound, now bands like Bboys are copying their sound but that’s not a bad thing :)

I've been searching for underground music and bands since the early 80s. I'm not sure I've ever heard a band with this much diversity of sound. Even within certain songs they'll change up the rhythm and the sound. It's amazing

I absolutely bloody adore this, everything about it takes me back to the magical year of 1979, just after the first wave of punk, great tunes, angular guitar riffs (Gang of Four), a time when everything and anything seemed possible. A hugely talented band, I simply can't get enough of them.

@@alexthomas8418 wow haven't heard it before. I like it, kind of fuzzy psycodelic. Vocals reminds me also kind of Ariel's Pink style. Don't know at the end there are so much artirsts to reference on to make good music.
