The most reliable way to parry with Baizhi is jump -> attack because it brings her creature to her. Verina's Intro is also very reliable parry. Great video, all of it is really clear, and the examples are good.
OP so ture. Certain ranged normal attacks cant parry like gunfire and encore R, but others can. You need to play up close to be more consistent, since ranged normal parries have particle travel time.
The only attacks that i cant consistently parry are bosses dash attacks. Attacks like tempest memphis dash and scars dash seem to hit me before my parry lands.
the two techs ive noticed for this is to either use a jump -> grappling -> ground slam attack, as you wont get punished for doing ground slamming too slowly, plus the atk hitboxes are more generous. Alternatively, just use the parry at the end of their "charge" duration (the period of time where they stand still before dashing at you) and if it doesnt parry you can just click dodge and 95% of the time one of the two will prevent u from taking dmg
Heres a tip: In combat, characters automatically do 1 BA right after swapping. So u can use the swap to a sword user as a parry button when the DPS on field cant reliably parry
im so bad at these boss fights bc 99% of the time my strat is just "mash buttons quick to get forte circuit charge and then do big damage" my real issue is i always immediately dodge/parry whenever i see the attack coming but then there's like a whole second more of windup and then i just die because i timed it way too early :/
I have no idea how I consistently parry with Verina. I'm just spamming her autos and boom. I parry. I tried slowing down, paying attention to her moveset, only attacking when the yellow circle shows, everything, really. Nothing works unless I'm relentlessly spamming her autos. I'm playing with around 200 ping if that matters. Very good video with valuable information. Good job!
Did some experimenting with Mephis, Verina's first basic atk can parry along with skill and intro. Interestingly though, I could only parry when I was point blank to Mephis. There may be a distance factor to whether some atks can parry or not.
Ty earlier rather than later, the dodge windows is VERY generous so maybe your trying to time it too much and missing it, its not exactly when the attack is gonna hit you more like when the attack is getting close to hit you

you can also parry and dodge consecutively, so that if you mistime it, you'll still be able to dodge the attack. The reason this works is because your parry hitbox is independent from your character's action, so dodging after parrying won't just instantly cancel it. If you try this, sometimes you even trigger the dodge animation even after you parry the attack
I probably should parry instead of jus goin ham on the enemies even if they overpowered like yeah i have skill its just im purely too lazy and forgetful to use it 🥱 but i do go off sometimes but anyways the vid was great im subbing leaving a like reminded me to parry more often and actually reminded me to wait thats super important (my phone is pretty much one gen behind the minimum recommended so i get the frame drops and stops yes stops but its fine wuthering waves is really good so im willing to even go back to mobile for now until i can get a console and play it if its on there? I would suggest if someone wants to practice parrying, then fight crownless. Crownless' attacks after waking up from being vulnerable is also a good practice ground to practice dodges. If you you want to practice your timings then fight thundering/tempest mephis
Some bosses make it look like their attacks are parry-able too. Im looking at you Tempest Memphis, your one dash attack looks similar to your other dash attack thats susceptible to parry.
My reaction time is too good, so I tend to parry the moment I see the circle, because I'm used to high ping affecting this. Doesn't seem to be the case in this game however.
the attacks which cant parry actually varies logically, for example baizhu can pary with BA 1 but BA 3 and 4 cant as far as i have noticed maybe because youtan doesnt physically block the attack like how you would physically block the attack with a sword to parry, encore cant parry unless with her BA3
Encore's into and skill in her ult state also can parry, I think her jump + attack and some regular attacks also do the trick, but the results have been inconclusive so far
My biggest issue is multiple enemies and weird camera. I really recommend to turn off camera settings like auto adjustment etc, it's way better to control camera myself without this crap.
Weird Question but can the Grapple Parry? I was doing that roguelike-ish mode and I got some Grapple upgrades and I think it was around the last bossfight where I accidentally missgrappled into the boss but instead of taking dmg it procc'd the Parry. I've been really confused since then and I can't consistently replicate it since my ping goes to red whenever it feels like it so I've been wondering if anyone else managed to do this and if it's either a bug or a feature.
Eh ill just avoid parrying in general, dodging is more important to learn especially to those enemies that bait you into dodging early with their charged attack so you don’t have enough time to dodge the attack cuz of recovery frames
I just can't hit the timings. Well like a third of even less of them to be fair, but in hologram fights it usually means that I'm coocked already (hello mourning "fuck you" bird) ah, also Taoqi and Calcharo is so damn hard to parry with
Been having more consistent success parrying with just mindless mashing on most characters or Baizhi's jump attack than actually timing it.... Parrying is weirdly inconsistent I swear... 1 outta 5 times I get trucked over when parrying at the same time frame as when it usually succeeds. Makes 0 sense on why they fail too.
Sounds like a lot of people share the same lament. Ping I'm sure sounds to be playing a big part of it. Using characters who attack a bunch seems to be a decent work around lol. I find myself accidentally parrying the most when I'm using Rover and anytime I've used Jiyan when he joins you I've just been able to mash most of the time and he attacks fast enough he just parries everything.
Hold on, I don't remember seeing the gold circle before. Like it comes closer to another gold circle before you parry. Is this like a signal or cue to parry?
There is a little audio queue to let you know when it's ready. there is a small gauge to the left of your health bar as well that fills up. once that is full, you can perform an intro attack! The portraits of your other characters will also get a feint glow around them when the intro attack is ready to go.
Man I play rythm games like OSU and I main parry related characters in most games I play if they have them, so you could say parrying in games is my specialty, but I cannot for the life of me parry in this game. Even if I left click the exact moment both circles align, I still get hit almost every time. But if I randomly button mash, half the time my character still ends up parrying. Not sure if you're meant to click before the circles actually meet, or after, but so far from my testing it doesn't seem consistent from boss to boss.
definitely a ping issue I've had dodges and parries I *know* I hit whiff cause of it. They know it's a problem, the game is currently most optimized for higher end systems iirc? and they're working on it....until than I live and defeat bosses by the grace of Baizhi lol@cloudybrains
