In this double Torah portion, we derive another hint as to why Nadav and Avihu died. We also analyze the three major categories of sin identified by the Torah and how they are connected to the goat to Azazel. We will also discover what God thinks about gossip and evil speech, as well as other fascinating insights.

I have such challenge doing what you spoke of, being holy/separate from the world but not in isolation. I was clearly led by Him to come out of the art world I had been so involved in for years to care for my mother until her death from Alzheimer’s. I was then led to a rural, off grid homestead where I raise and care for goats and ducks and live a complete faith in God focused and Torah pursuant life, but have significantly less interaction with people than I did in the very worldly art world. I live too far away from the Torah community I previously met and had fellowship with every Shabbat to see them now, although we still stay in touch and share teachings we are blessed by and testimonies of what Yah is doing in our lives. I feel very isolated from the world, but never lonely or doubt this is where I am supposed to be at this time. My life is 180 degrees of what it was eight years ago in so many ways, but I just don’t know what I am supposed to be doing for the kingdom. I am grateful for your teachings and being led to your channel. Baruch HaShem.

Ironic. Christendom teaches isolation brings holiness as seen with St. Francis received the Stigmata after meditation and St. Augustine who left his union for monastic life.

So true. God doesn't want us to be hermits or lone rangers. We are to be part of a community - as painful as that can be at times.

@@grantluton I actually love being an active participant in a community but have to joyfully settle for an online one until a physical one becomes available again.
