I'm guessing Parsnip castrated himself, and vaguely regrets it; _"Friends_ get hurt, otherwise." Note he also wrote over the deed to his house, pays no attention to the french girl's name, among everything else. Something around here's goofed up; he said that paint gets in his food, right? Any chance he's been eating *leaded paint* frequently?
Also did you notice the picture he drew for the other bunny was probably porn? I mean it's super pixelated in the inventory and she did not react in a way that said this was a normal painting.
@@phalamy9180 yeah you can see that one of the picture is clearly LeRose, since she's the only one in black, and another one shapes like a rabbit's head, lied down horizontally under LeRose, and guess what : Parsnip and LeRose are the only rabbits in town, and based from the painting, looks like Parsnip and LeRose doing the "cowgirl" position Secondly, it's because she says "I must cleanse myself from this sin". I mean, if it's a normal painting, she won't be that rude
For those who don't know, The King in Yellow is a story by Robert W. Chambers, I encourage you all to read it. The references here are of the fictional play in the story that drives everyone mad. Maybe someone remembers more than I do. It's kind of Lovecraftian.
If you like this story, i recommend checking out the sequel to this game, The Testimony of Trixie Glitter Smith. It dives deeper into the lore of the play and is very accurate to the original book
Throughout the game you can find small yellow symbols called "Yellow marks" that, when interacted with, tell the story of why the sheep is a cultist in the first place.
Also other experimenting: There's no other endings besides letting the sheep live and cake ending. Cake ending is just giving the sheep the cake, the sheep dies, if you didn't give it to anyone else then it doesn't show anyone else's death. You can only use the knife on the cow, Rosie, and the Sheep next to the cultist house, none of it does anything. (Though parsnip does call the sheep "silly creature" which is odd)
Yeah, upon further inspection Parsnip is SUPER sus towards the sheep, and it reflects in a lot of the cultists mannerisms. Also The Magnificent Magpie knows a prophecy about the cultist but is refusing to act upon it, possibly as they're in cahoots, and Rosie paints the yellow symbols as one of her paintings.

Yes, give everyone a Piece of cake besides that "New Friend" to get the bad one or just eat it by yourself, and the 2rd one (the good ending) is the same as this one 35:46 but with no one dying besides that friend so it's a waste of time to see since there is nothing new.

seems like this only has two endings. **Spoilers warning.** One where you kill everyone by sharing the cake. Or the evil sheep takes over the world and kill everyone if you keep the cake for yourself. Well I guess another ending would be just give the cake to the evil sheep to save everyone else.
To me that actually seems like the most canon/logical ending, as, even though they won’t in the game, the characters would probably refuse to take a slice of the cake, both bell and lerose knowing better than to take something from him, and the magnificent magpie turning up their beak at such a paltry offering. While the sheep is new to town (at least practically speaking) and seems to genuinely trust parsnip and even like then in their own twisted way, they wouldn’t know any better. But most importantly, I think it keeps with the “dark comedy cartoon” theme the game has, with parsnip being left sad and dejected after all his friends turn down his cake, only for his new friend to graciously take some, making parsnip happy they were at least able to share it with at least one other person, as parsnip goes home and enjoys the rest of their cake (that they probably have built up an immunity to based on their dialogue saying how paint in their cake isn’t really anything new for them). And thus, through no conscious effort of their own, our “hero” vanquished the evil cultist and saved the day, and everyone lived happily ever after (well, besides squirrel girls parents, damn, poor kid, hope she can get by alright without them)!
Hah! Ok, that's a good one. Dark Humor at its finest. I had a gut feeling there was something off, and it was right, but certainly a pleasant surprise it was done humorously.
this was really interesting!! i loved the animation especially and i think its atmosphere works really well? theres virtually no music and the colors are very muted and bleak which really drives home the “theres something wrong with this game but i cant put my finger on it” vibe imo i wish they hadnt revealed the new friend’s design though, i found them a lot creepier when you had to imagine what they looked like instead of having it shown to you
This is the only video I could find on this game, so I guess it can be considered a bit of a hidden gem? I wonder if the creators made more...I'd like to play everything they make.

I mostly liked this, but they totally spoiled it with the endings. Most of it is very good at balancing on the edge of creepy, and absolutely masters show, don’t tell with how it portray’s Parsnip’s naivety and obliviousness to the world around them, but the endings where everyone dies from eating the cake (except for Parsnip for some damn reason) are just way too corny to be creepy or tragic. And the guy in the abandoned cottage doing demonic rituals (especially the ending based on it, which you apparently get if you eat the cake without giving it to anyone else according to another video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MNobg5982_I.html ) is a bit over the top too; maybe that would have more impact if he was a serial killer/kidnapper/general creeper or some such.
I don't think the endings were bad, I think this ending was pretty funny (which did seem like the intended result) and the other one could be creepier, honestly.

What I expected: psychological horror times in nope land. What I got: a hilarious dark comedy with the potential for a happy ending that actually sort of makes sense.

Question about spoilers ahead* So what happened with the sheep person at the end? Like, I mean I can plainly see that he is dead from eating the cake, and squirrel girl is alive to escape. But, where did all the blood from the ritual come from? It looks like the knife hasn't been used at all. The only thing I can think of is he was cutting himself up, which is why his arms are all bloody. But what did he need the squirrel girl for?

@@ianstuckey4405 The King in Yellow is widely believed to be Hastur yes. @Maddox Daze's thinking it's Nyarly is probably from some people thinking the robed yellow figure Randolph Carter encounters in Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath might have been Nyarlathotep instead of Hastur.
If you haven't played the game, I recommend you do. There's a lot of stuff that doesn't appear in this video: they didn't use the examine button much, missed a lot of dialogue, there's another ending, other objects you can interact with, and there are also some small bits of lore hidden around. They missed most of the jokes, actually. My favorite one was when Parsnip said "I think Bell and Rosi are friends, they have a lot of sleepovers!" *Yes Parsnip, they're just gAl PaLs* Also it's kind of a series.
Even if I eat parsnips by accident sometimes I spit them out when I noticed like at lunch time in college one day they did steak pie when I really like steak pie but not with kidney or ale so when I ate this steak pie I thought that I would like it and when I ate it after in a few mouthfuls I started to notice a strange taste and it tasted like parsnips so I ended up spitting it out and giving it to one of the staff members that likes parsnips so it wasn't wasted but I wouldn't have it again I wasn't keen on it because of the parsnips

Really interesting game! In the start, I was afraid of finishing the video because I knew something like the end would happen, but didn't bother to quit watching at all. The story is simple, but intriguing too. Perhaps there's a better ending?

Unfortunately, LeRose isn't wearing her beret and her beautiful eyes are hidden behind sunglasses! ヾ( ･`⌓´･)ﾉﾞ But that's more than made up for by the introduction of new characters, especially the metalhead hyena that's constantly threatening to taze you. I will probably replay it, since there are like, three different paths you can take through the story. It seems the devs went through a lot of trouble to make the game highly replayable.

I really saw sometinh more in it, but shit, then that ending came. I expected something more meaningful. I even came up with a prediction/theory to what it all means and I was like: "Hmmm, maybe Parsnip is schitzophrenic, and everything except Belle Is his imagination, (Because Belle says that she is putting milk in front of empty houses to get paid more, and almost every bottle of milk is broken so she was just probably throwing them) and Parsnip is reliving some kind of looped schitzophrenic daydream-nightmare where because of how he's so ignorant about reality and is repressing every "not happy emotion" that he could feel makes him fuck up his life. @edit btw now I realised that this picture might be unpixelised in the game, but if it is or if it isn't what I think I'm gonna be really pissed. @edit, nope, the picture is censored anyways, also what i say before makes way less sense because I now realised that Belle is saying "To the empty house on the end of the road" not "to the empty houses" so fuck this. But still I would be really pissed if I was makers of that game and saw what Im saying now because of how good idea it is. Whatever reason the authors would be pissed they have no way to proove to me.
