Lightmatter - Shadows Kill You in this Stylish, Inventive & Darkly Humorous Sci-Fi Puzzle Adventure Available On Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/99...
For some reason all these gaming channels feel like the person playing has never played a video game before, it's unreal. MKFireAndIce is probably the most famous. He can spend up to an hour stuck on a simple problem, and plays with the most twitchy mouse ever. Makes gameplay videos give you epilepsy even if you don't have epilepsy, it's SO bad, and he's such a brainlet. But they all load their videos with a million ads, which reveals their motivation I guess.
Like I said, he talks in every game including Codename 47. You can look up "Codename 47 cutscenes" and find plenty of clips where he talks, 47's dialogue is important in all of the games.
"We treat our inanimate objects with respect - not like those monsters at Amateur Science" We only put our employees lives at risk, because only *sentient beings* can _consent_ to being used as objects.
@@jonahweaver8281 Damn autocorrect. Yes, I'm familiar with Portal, and the companion cube - which is presumably the inanimate object to which they refer.
@@joshdotjpeg04 You know what black mesa can do? PIZZA, PASTA, PUT IT IN A BOX, BRING IT HERE AND PUT IT ON MY COCK TORTELLINI ON MY WEENIE PEPPERONI ON THE WALLLLLS, CHEESY ON MY PEENIE AND A SAUCE-A ON MY BALLS
A flashlight may help a bit but you still need to be in the light at all time.. Unless the flashlight could light up everything around you, it's not too helpful
70% of the comments: "This game seems similar to Portal. Also, there's a reference to Portal. I am literally the only person here who noticed that." Edit: Guys, I'm obviously mocking the people in this comments section who are bragging about noticing the reference. Whenever you reply to my comment with "Yeah, I noticed it too!", you're just proving my point. Please learn what a quotation mark is.
@@tthung8668 - Well, yes. But half of that 2% is that one guy who's trying too hard to be a meme. Edit: Looks like Alpha Beta finally deleted all their comments. Thanks. Their low-effort attempt at trolling wasn't contributing anything.
Seen a video earlier where a dude lined up all the TVs n DVD players in his house and ran to all the rooms to film the logo hit that sweet sweet corner, one after the other
@@waltonsimons12 let's not forget those moments where it bounces off one side directly into and off of the side next to it... gotta play close attention so as not to be fooled. Trust me, I'm a veteran at this.
This reminds me of SCP-575 "the predatorian darkness" An amorphous dark mass that consumes any living matter that enters it, and vanishes when a light is casted upon.
They say the original design for portal 2 was based on light... it was said to be extremely fun but valve never released the idea, hoping to use it in a game someday.
Original idea of portal came from two indie developers graduating from MIT. They made a protal game with very harsh textures and people at Valve picked them up and flushed out a story for it, changed the aesthetic.
"think the floor is lava, just with a floor that absorbs organic material." Boots should be your shield then since ya never touch the shadows with your delicious organic material
I swear, if it wasn't for indie developers, the gaming industry would have been dead by now in another crash like the one that killed off Atari back in the 80s.
@@tsuwu5260 I am very, very, very sorry. Truly sorry but who is Justin Y? I am not very well acquainted with this matter, although I am joking about the doge knowing where the cat is, since he's a doge. So, can you please help me? :D
@@witheredbonnie9434 not even that, I genuinely want to sit down and watch this! I dont want to play it. It has interesting ORIGINAL ideas, and Just shows you what you want to see right away, no dancing arround the plot. Theres not a single movie that I am interested in seeing. This channel alone has a thousand games that captivate me. AM I getting old?
This concept remind me of that one movie where shadows eat everything too, I don’t remember the name but I do remember that at the end there’s a horse and a girl with shiny shoes who survive
In a way this game reminds me of Portal. The amount of puzzle solving while someone talks to you humorously or tells you a background story of how this all started.
**points lights** its said that you can see their shape while in direct light if enough dust particles are present in the air player: **walks in the lightened area** I DON'T SEE NO LIL BOOK EATING SPACE MINI SHARK IN HERE
Yeezy Sneezy nah as a matter of fact i was looking for comment like his On the other hand most of us aren’t really looking for unnecessary negativity towards other comments
Liking the Cave Johnston-y narrative! Ok so the shadows were def affecting, like, peoples' behavior, right? Besides just straight up killing and eating them, I feel like everyone, including Virgil, just got straight up more obsessed as time went on.
I like your videos for a few reasons, but the main one being: You always seem to find the games hidden behind the mountains of marketing ads. You always find interesting games that never seem to end up on the front-page, and you always show those games for what they are, what people will see them as. You always seem to play the most interesting games even when they were hidden deep underneath the line of popular games and ads. Good luck with your next one, and I hope you have as much fun playing as I do watching.
I love how this channel play mostly good and Unknow games (indie or not) like, this is a good channel I love it, When I saw what it was doing I instantly subscribed as someone who tryed to make games, and knows how hard and time consuming it is to make even simple games this channel will make many game developers happy to see theyr work get some attention instead of being just, there on the interent for some friends and 2 random guy to see
At the start of the game, the CEO stands between you and the light, casting a shadow. It's super obvious symbolism when spoken out loud, but in the gameplay it's a really nice thematic touch that's super unintrusive in the flow of the narrative. Love it!
Does touching vantablack also kill you? Also, it's a good thing you don't have a shadow. If you did you'd die in 2 seconds stepping in your own shadow.
This game does look quite promising in my opinion. I especially love the writing and voice acting for the Doctor. I do wish the shadows had more to them than just "ooh spooky lava" maybe some supernatural aspect that gradually evolves as you progress through the levels. Overall though great looking adventure puzzle game.
Rip Jame's cat, I doubt the little fella realized the floor was dangerous before stepping into a shadow or getting the lights accidentally turned off on him
Did Aperture Science make anything remotely better for the environment, other that portals, shoots boys, and a penis hanging on the ceiling? I think not!
Genuinely a novel/original game, as far as I am aware, that's very cool! Love the mechanic/concept. Everytime you go for one of those long jumps I tense up waiting for the fall to happen. And everytime you make it except for one or two times. Great game! 😁👍 Can't believe that's where it ended. What happens next? Need more!
this game is really stylized with a very portal esq tone and when he made the reference i was like "fuck yeah theyre self aware!" im impressed they did so much with such a simple concept (again with the self aware thing cause virgil acknowledged the floor is lava aspect about the shadows)
