Started this book last year. It has been a fantastic resource. My end goal in penmanship is to become proficient in ornamental penmanship. This has been my favourite guidebook so far. Excited to see you going through this one!

Amazing penmanship ! You also fill the pen gracefully. When I fill a pen I always manage to tint my fingers, especialy under the nails, a truck mechanic. Thanks for sharing !

When I was a child in the 50’s all ink bottles that my grandmother used had a reservoir just inside the bottle opening. You would tip the bottle to fill it then open the cap to fill or dip your pen. My grandmother preferred to use a dip pen that she could purchase at the Five and Dime store. The your bottle is very interesting.

When you move your pen off the screen it sounds as if you might be screwing something on it? Please, what is happening, and is it something i need to be doing? Also, I i started learning cursive in 1957 in the Second Grade. Evidently my school taught the Zaner-Bloser system because we learned block printing in the first grade, and our old maid Second Grade teacher started us in cursive the first day of school! The cursive we learned was either Palmer Business Cursive or a version of it, because it's very familiar to me. However, teachers allowed us to develop our own handwriting and mine doesn't look that much like Palmer Business Cursive anymore. PBC is lovely -- so simple and yet elegant. I am making some changes to more closely mimic this traditional handwriting. Thank you for your video. I enjoyed watching you write!

I’ve been looking for inspiration for ways to connect letters and I’m going to try to mimic your style, I’m in the process of re learning because I stopped writing and I’m very rusty and forgot a lot.

The moment at 1:37, the thuds that take your imagination to the moment when, one day, the liquid prisoner might end up flowing freely .. 😂😂 Beautiful writing.

Beautiful. Im just confused with all the differences between the styles and names. Calligraphy, roundhand, engrossers script, Spencerian, Palmers.....Is Penmanship a style or what style or font are our writing here?

I thought I was the only confused , if there’s any teachers reading our comments, what would be the first one they would recommend to learn . I do like them all . I been practicing Spencerian for few weeks , but I’ll like to learn calligraphy also , to make those nice curves or flourishing as they called .

Hello Thanks you so much for such an interesting video. Could you tell me what this style of handwriting is called? This is what I was taught in grammar school when I was a kid! I'm now 54 and never knew why my rs, Capital Ts, capital Ws, capital KS, etc looked different than most of friends' lateron in life. Thank you.

Good afternoon. Please tell me how long it takes to fully study the Palmer method, how long it takes to practice daily and has your real handwriting changed? Thanks
@user-ef8ow1nz1o

a lot of it is determined by how excited you are about writing and how it looks in an artful sense, also how it feels. remember to use your whole shoulder, you're shoulder girdle wont visibly move, but internally within your shoulder it will be moving, in a subtle but effective way. also completely loosen the grip on your pen. Just have fun with it if you can and by no time (1 -2 months) you'll really notice a difference.
