If I could have it my way, camping while backpacking would always include comfort and luxury. But that's not the nature of backpacking. But what if the opportunity was in front of you to haul your gear a modest distance, set up your camp, and then reduce the overall weight of your kit to summit a mountain? Well, that's exactly what this trip was about...and in that regard, I opted to use the Military Surplus Molle II Rucksack to do the dirty work and haul my 58 LB kit to my campsite. From there we set up our camp site, had a snack, re-energized, and hit the trails with an assault pack to summit our mountain.
In this 2 part video, I discuss my gear loadout in part 1 and then shift gears into part 2 where I hit the trails...use this Molle II to haul my kit, and then wrap up with some final thoughts.
