I've had a Hacker Cavalier GP15 'Record Reproducer' and matching ST15 additional stereo amplifier find their merry way to me for some TLC.
The proud new owner is a lovely guy and purchase them from a popular auction site for the modest sum of £190.
He drove 420 miles (Round Trip) to collect them!
They were listed with the following description:
"It works well we have tried it.
It's a nice piece of equipment...It will take you back to the golden age/days
of music, it will be something to show your family and friends and will
no doubt bring back some memories!"
Lets see how they do shall we?...haha!!!

Hi Nick! All battle-scared veterans are very welcome here! They're well on their way...My soldering iron is in top gear right now...haha!!! I do get sad when players leave me...But Martin really is a lovely guy and will get a lot of pleasure from them once I've revived them for him. Thanks for the Great comment! :)

I hope you didn't have your headphones on Joe?...haha!!! I did give a little warning just in case...haha!!! Russ is fine too...After the video I quickly transported him on to the Gondolier at the end of the workshop so he could perform to his best! Thanks for commenting my friend! :)

Hi Neil! I know what you mean! Poor Martin had been bitten once before with a Gondolier that was described as 'Fully Restored' ...He paid even more for that...But luckily got a refund! Now this will make you sit up...Before finding me he contacted an organization that claimed to do this type of work...They wanted...Wait for it...£500 to have a look at them with a maximum charge of £700 to return them repaired...I nearly fell off my chair...haha!!! I know how you feel Luke...But as we all know you take a chance looking at a picture and reading someone else's words to describe an item. The people selling this were a charity and to tell the truth, I don't think they even understood how it should work or sound...haha!!! You take care of that lovely old Dansette and think how lucky you are to have such a nice Granddad! Thanks for commenting! :)

Hi Neil...I think Joe summed it up nicely last night on the phone..."Well I think some people don't actually know what a record player 'should' sound like"...haha!!! There are a few really good quality sellers on eBay...But of course it comes with a price! I'm proud to say I have never sold a single item on there! Although I have repaired many that have been brought to me from there...haha!!! Shame you're not closer! Plenty of room here for two! Be nice to have a Moggy sitting on the drive! :)

SP25 MKIII...Very Nice deck to have! Fully Automatic too! Great for playing 78's if you get a magnetic cartridge with the correct stylus. Same set up as 'The King of Shellac' Ivoriesman uses...And we all know how good his 78's sound! I like the decks mounted in plinth's...So easy to connect to modern equipment or a computer.
