Hello my crafty friends. I have been asked to do a series on Slow Stitching, I decided we would start small, I’m making a four page book.
I hope you will follow along with me.
Love Bella x

I have done "handwork", as my Grandmother called it, since she taught me to embroider when I was about 10. I love to do cross-stitch and embroidery but am afraid I would drive myself crazy doing slow stitch because there isn't a pattern to follow. I love everything you create though and love watching you do it, so I might just have to give it a go. By the way, Andy is Gi's partner.

So fun to watch and learn from you. Do you leave your basting stitches once you’ve fully stitched the layers in? I’ll look forward to your series! Love your new cabinet!!

Hi Linda, you could leave them in but in this instance I did remove them. It depends on the look you’re after. Xxx

It’s hard for me to do this messily. I’m so used to embroidery. I’m going to enjoy this series. I’m also watching Roxy’s series one of a “journal of stitchery” I think this is going to become another obsession.

I have a question, can you use fabric basting glue to tack down the fabric?
@bellascraftystudio

Yes I think thats a good idea.

Do you use a glue stick to glue tiny pieces of fabric?
@bellascraftystudio
@bellascraftystudio 5 месяцев назад
You can use a glue stick not much mind, i didn’t, you can invisibly stitch them down or put large tacking stitches then take out at the end.i hope that helps. X

The bird stamps are on paper then on a square of material that’s why I machine stitched them. They’re in Rachel’s Spring kit I think. Xx

Hi, thankyou for sharing this video, its so beautiful and can't wait to try this. How many threads on your needle do you use for slow stitching?
@bellascraftystudio
@bellascraftystudio 11 месяцев назад
Hi, if it’s embroidery threads I use three strands, if I use strong cotton thread I use it double. I hope this helps. Xx
