This is the Best video on the internet for changing the Cam Sensor. You made me feel right at home with all the issues you had to work through. I know I would have the same problems. I want to Truly thank you. Again you are the best.
Thank you so much sir I do appreciate it I have had some flack on some of my rear end videos and it's nice to get some positive feedback I do make mistakes and I don't hind it I try to make sure that people see that even after 30 years of doing this that even I can still mess up people on the rear end videos don't watch all 3 til see what happened and why and what I did to fix it I donr just put out 1 video doing the job and wish ypu the best of luck if I forget some I always do a recap video to help you out the best I can
@@duanescarpad2831 Do you have any videos on parking brakes. I have a manual transmission that I need to attempt to fix the parking brake on GMC. 1997 Sierra
@@johnhoag2171 saddly no mine is an automatic I never use it but I did change the rear brakes that just shows you how to mess with the park brake in the drum
I no there are 4 cables the main 1 on the pedal inside to outside than another cable connected to that mid truck and the a double connecter hooked to the to rear cables that go to the drums if that helps I could make a demonstration video to show people but it would be spring time befor I could do it I live up north we are buried under 3 feet of snow and I work in my driveway not the most ideal working conditions
I have 1998 gmc suburban , i have p0300 but i dont have p0340 i have hard start and rough idle my question would of be the crankshaft position sensor went bad even though that i dont have the p0340 code and have only one permanent p0300 ? Changed so far : 1- spark plugs 2-fuel pump And fuel filter 3-no vacuum leak 4-no fuel leak
No problem usually the crankshaft sensor goes it won't start at all. The camshaft could cuase that hard start. That was not my issue mine qas surging and trying to run over cars on front of me at lights and stop signs. But rough idle have you checked the idle control motor if that is not working right it won't let enough air in for Start up and idle does it smooth out when you drive
@@duanescarpad2831 thanks again i just check the egr valave i unpluged the connector while the car is running thinking the car would behive different but it was running rough the same disnt shut off or anything i put the connector back and it was the same , does that mean its not working assuming it should do somthing when i unpluged the connector
I was getting the rotor base around to the right position so I could get the sensor to come out it didn't want to just come out for me that all I rotated the engine enough to get it in and out did yourvjust come out in any position
I think I'm just going to pull my distributor and do it that way what you doing there it's just ridiculous and we still don't know what the thing is going to run
probably one of the worst videos than i have seen, im not a mechanic and did this job without all the bs that this guy went through. Didn't have to loosen the distributor all he had to do was align the metal clip slot that holds the rotor to the top notch of the new cam sensor..
