Solaris IQ Designer overview, create a design using line properties and fill stitch properties. Machines with like capability will learn from this series.
I just bought my Solaris with the upgrade to 3. I’m overwhelmed but then I thought about you. I knew you would take me through it in a manner I would understand. You never disappoint. I’m going to my machine and walk through the steps with you.
OMG! You are soo amazing finally have someone to teach me my new Solaris thats just collecting dust! You are so amazing, so easy to follow, so patient! Lotsa hugs and hugs!
Thank you for this tutorial. I bought my Solaris about 8 months ago but the only thing I learned to do with IQ Designer was the knock-down stitch. I learned it by seeing another tutorial. The IQ Designer looked at me like the Big Bad Wolf beyond that. Now I am needing to learn how to quilt on my machine, I will be checking out your tutorials to see if you have a good one to learn to do this. I must echo the previous comments. The other videos I have seen leave me totally at a loss. You indeed are an awesome teacher, going nice and easy, explaining every step, and making sense! Again, thank you for removing some stress from my life.
Hi Charlotte, I just released a three part series on how I have used IQ technology to quilt a quilt. Make sure you watch those if you would like to quilt like you mentioned in your comment. :) I'm glad my tutorials have been helpful for you.
Please keep making your videos -- this one was so helpful. You are superb instructor. I purchased my machine in August and because my husband has underlying health issues, this will be my way to get instruction without going to class and putting him at risk. If I get sick, so will he. Actually, you are better than class because I feel like you were actually here with me with a one-on-one instruction. Thanks again!
Theresa Diaz Theresa, I’m so glad it was helpful. There is so much that can be created in this wonderful machine. Once you get comfy the sky’s the limit 💜💜💜
Thank you very much Lori. My shop owner gave us a class Monday, 5/2, pointed the class in your direction for more in dept. The mouse idea was the greatest; I have trouble using the pointer.
I just bought a Solaris 2 this past weekend, my training consisted of 10 minutes on how to thread the machine and wind a bobbin. No introduction classes on how to operate the programs in the machine. So this is a big help! Thank you!
I've watchex several other videis about my new Solaris, all of which left me more clueless than when I started. However, I was able to follow & duplicate eveey single step & was able to create the flower design & save it! Thank you so much for such wonderful instructions. Your explanations of each step were perfect for a new owner. Can't wait to watch Part 2!
So glag I found you lori,I have had my machine a year now and haven't used any of the functions including the IQ function, I have watched videos, but they move too fast and confuse me Please Please make more videos on this amazing machine, I know it does a lot, but I have only done embroidery through lack of confidence so far, I really want to learn the functions and enjoy the machine.
If I want to edit an existing design that I have I am having a brain loss of how to do this. I thought I would be able to retrieve it from my USB stick directly into IQ Designer, but when I try this it does not "see" the design on my stick. I hope you don't mind me asking this probably silly question, but I definitely need some guidance on how to do this. I worked right along with you on this tutorial to create the flower but obviously I am a newbie.
You are so welcome. I'm glad I was able to help you. Wireless Mouse will not work with the machine. It's not either or. It has to be a wired mouse plugged into the usb port specified on the side of the machine.
I have the destiny and plugged my mouse but the cursor just sits Tere I also followed you instructions in this video. So I need an extra step since I don’t have the solaris. Thank you again you r the best
This is one of the best tutorials every I agree your teaching skills are impeccably outstanding just flawlessly. I just purchased a trade in destiny that was upgraded and learning the machine. Can is the Solaris instructions can be use on the Unity? Thanks you are great I just subscribed to your video. And what is the best thread to use. I did purchase some Isacord and florinia embroidery thread which threads are the best. I did purchase some classes online had I saw your channel I think you would have been the help I needed . Thanks you
Teresa, The Unity does not have the IQ capabilities the Destiny and the Solaris does. So these features will not apply to the Unity. I like to use Maderia and Exquisite Embroidery threads. Those or my favs. :)
@@Pradatoo2 I have all Babylocks so I am definitely partial to my Babylocks. Also I am a Babylock educator. You need to get with your retailer and weight out your options. The functionality will be very simular. Like you mentioned having Disney on the Brother side is an option that is not on Babylock. Babylock has a variety of exclusive designs also. I'm sure you will make the best decision that fits you! :)
Hi Lori. I plugged my new wired mouse into the usb (mouse) port but the mouse pointer doesn't show up anywhere. It has Bluetrack technology. Does that not work? Is there something that I need to do to get it to recognize the mouse? Looking forward to your classes. I have a Solaris with the upgrade. Thanks
Hi Deb, I'm not familiar with Bluetrack Technology. The mouse should be plugged into the usb port that has an image of a mouse beside the port. There is nothing else you need to do. Are you using a mouse pad? If it doesn't work you may have to try a different one. :(
I have a Destiny II I purchased a mouse with the cord chose the pointer I want to use after plugging in the USB the computer freeze. Can you use the mouse with the Destiny II. Thanks
Teresa, you should be able to use the wired mouse with your Destiny II. Make sure to plug it into the usb port on your Destiny II that has an image of a wired mouse. It is the lower usb port. Now with that said I can't predict if you may or may not have an issue with certain wired mouses. But I hope you will not! :)
Hi! I’m following along with this tutorial (you’re so good!) and I’ve come across a problem on my end. Where you get to 17:25ish area, you are talking about changing the fill area to a satin stitch and you change the colour to green. When I look at my screen, the satin stitch looks like polka dots, not the zig zag. Is this ok? Thank you!
Donna, Yes These will also help with your Altair. Watch all the Destiny and these. Yours will be more similar to the Destiny series but both will beneficial for you.
Donna, I believe you are talking about the satin/outline stitch. That outline stich is a (zigzag/satin line property) you can adjust the width. I believe I didn't adjust the width I left it at the default zig zag/outline property default. :)
Jo Minvielle I haven’t actually seen your specific model machine but I’m pretty sure you can change to inches in the menu. I did so on my Solaris. Good luck!
Hi Jo, It may be possible. I don't have that memorized for the Aventura. I'm out of town and my Aventura II is at home. I will try to remember to check that for you. Go into your settings and browse around. You may find that option there. :)

I also just purchased my Solaris Vision and I am so frustrated trying to learn "how to".... I will now subscribe to Lori after doing this video because I love the way she teaches. Very clear and easy to understand!
