I believe in the context of this message. "Kiss" here is a way of greeting; traditionally. I'm a Nigerian, we don't greet each other by kiss.

If you are familiar with the Greek world and it's sayings at that moment you will understand that THIS IS NOT LITERAL! The word "kiss" meant (symbolised) "teaching." There are some manuscripts; some of them taken out of the canonical bible, that explicitly talk and explain "the holy kiss" phrase. The holy kiss Paul speaks of has no links to what is mentioned in the synoptic Gospels. Those are two different cultures altogether. In much of Paul's writing there is the mention of the Greek culture while synoptic gospels contain (mostly) the Jewish culture.

Having said all that, you out failed to describe how they kissed one another.which makes conclude that the act of kissing is culturally influenced. It therefore differs from one culture to another. So for Mid Easterner, (where Christ is from) it is on both cheeks. For the Western world, it is mouth to mouth which may be considered vulgar to some. Among the Igbos, it involves a hug even amongst opposite sexes.
