This is my fav series of all time by a huge margin!!! I love everything about this series!!!!! i'm so glad someone out there feels so strongly about the series the way I do!!! and don't even let me start on the amount of tears i have cried for jung hwan !!!

Why cry for him? He did it to himself. He floundered and never once pursued Duk Seon with intent, waiting for some auspicious moment, whereas Taek took action and pursued her, and created the moment himself, instead of waiting for it. Anyways, that is all moot, as the best couple in the show, by far, is Bo Ra & Sun Woo

@@MrSmokinDragon you have to understand that the show is called reply 1988 not reply 2020 ...it was an era where people were not so expressive when it came to their feelings..for example here in india back then having a love affair was considered taboo... so yes i agree that he lost her due to not taking action but that characterization suits the era where its taking place .. and though he did not confess he did show his love through several actions.. that's why i feel bad for him that he lost her not because he did not love her as much as taek did but as he himself mentions because of his many many hesitations

@@sid_rockshard6748 The thing is, and he knew this, Duk Seon is kinda oblivious. She NEVER once in the series picked up on any of the boys feelings for her, however overt we think they are. If he really though what he did would get her to notice him, he was a fool. Later, when Duk Seon has been convinced by her friends (lol, once again oblivious) that he likes her, and is making it known to him that she likes him back (by once again sending signals), he picks up on it, but chooses to remain passive. He still had a chance, when they were all reunited later, but he confess to her but then decided to make it a joke even though it was what he really felt. Right then and there, I lost all respect for him. I didnt't really care which one of him or Taek ended up with Duk Seon, as SunBoRa is the real couple in the show, but after that, I rooted so hard for Taek. Also, notice how different Sun Woo and he goes about securing their girl. Sun Woo mans up, confesses, dates her, loses her but never gives up, and ends up with her in the end. Whereas Jung Hwan never really liked her if he can't man up and confess, even as an adult.

@@sid_rockshard6748 Also, if he hesitates that much, he doesn't really love her. Love is not logic, it in fact overrides logic, and by hesitating that much, he shows that he is still much too rational to be in love with her...
