Yes 👍🏻 Minnie , I said the same thing ! I started about 2 years ago and I still appreciate our sweet Spider’s thorough tutorials! He’s so right that the placement can be confusing! I am still learning so much , I consider myself a intermediate beginner, but being a hands on learner I won’t learn the stitches just by watching I have to do it along with the tutorial after watching it first , I start it again with my yarn 🧶 and supplies and begin , and I love the fact that Craig is always so thorough even if it’s a one row repeat he goes over it a few times ! I wish he really knew how much we appreciate and value his teachings! Happy crocheting my yarnie friend ☺️☺️🥰😘😊

Wow - I just made a version of the beautiful Alpine stitch hat that someone else had posted on RU-vid. The pattern didn't start until round 7 and I wanted to send you a message to please create a verion of it that starts at the crown ... and here it is! Thank you Spider - just beautiful! The ombre yarn really lends itself to this pattern.

I made this for my son a few years ago, I hate crocheting but I made myself a scarf on my loom and had extra of the same yarn left over. I'm jealous of his hat, I had to do like 10 videos to figure out how to inc/dec stitching in the round with alpine last time and you made it so easy to follow. Thank you!!

I just finished this hat using a rust color Lion Brand yarn and it's beautiful! Thank you so much for the detailed directions. I was able to crochet along with you, which I loved. The only thing I did differently was to use a magic ring. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise!.

I've watched many tutorials and LOVE yours and find them VERY helpful. The difference being how well you explain everything! I've been crocheting for quite a while but still have issues once in a while and need to slow the video down. After figuring it out, I would think. If they would have only mentioned one simple thing it would have been easier! So I appreciate your detailed explanations as you work the project! I watched a tutorial of the same type of hat but it didn't start at the crown and the decrease was very difficult. Thank you for this video!!!

This is a cool that looks great. I am enjoying making and I am so glad you are being through with showing the stitches as some of the rounds was a little confusing to me. But after watch it a couple times and you showing the complete round I was able to finish that round. I am looking forward to part two. You are amazing at teaching us how to make your projects and I am going to make more of them.

I must admit that I tried following someone else on RU-vid for this same pattern and kept getting lost 😞 I really wanted to use this stitch pattern to make a cotton/bamboo hat for my sister who is going through chemotherapy. So, when I saw that Fiber Spider had a tutorial for the Alpine Stitch Hat I was soooooo Happy 😊 Your tutorials are always so clear and thorough. I saw someone else do an increase with front posts a little differently. Might be a little easier? You do the double crochet in the top of the stitch and then you do it around the post which I think makes it easier to find the top of the stitch... Just a suggestion! Thanks for all of your wonderful tutorials!

Nice! I love love love this Alpine Stitch, it looks so nice! This color way is beautiful (teal) and the other solid brown color as well. I will be back time and again to see this I am sure. So I used a light weight size 3 yarn (truboo by lions brand) a size 4 hook and I skipped the last 2 increases to make a baby hat with this pattern !!! I didn’t count how many rows I did after I stopped increasing just kept going till it looked right😅 I love this pattern I hated the ones that didn’t start at the top. Thank you!!

Ok so, somebody was nice enough to give me a bunch of variegated yarn. I'm grateful, but there's a slight issue. It's HIDEOUS!!🤣. I've been trying to figure out what to do with it for ages. I got the bright idea to do this hat in white, with the sc rows in this variegated stuff that I have dubbed "circus yarn" because of the color scheme. The end result was absolutely stunning and I wish I could post a pic of it here but it won't let me lol. I carried the yarn so I didn't even have to cut anything when I changed colors! I figured I'd throw the idea out there because not only was it gorgeous, but we all have "that yarn"lol. Great stash buster idea too!
