is an instance and the database are same , it could be better to understand if you could shown is the status before and after doing the below commands , actually i did not understood what it dose and why we did it . pg_ctl -D initdb pg_ctl -D data initdb ls -IF data pg_ctl -D data start

I have to create tablespace monitoring alarm(for ex. if it gets more than 96% , it will raise an alarm saying it has been near to full), so it would be ok If I take the path as /data/pg_tblspc ?

Best way is to have fs level monitoring

Have you created a tablespace on the network drive? If yes, please suggest to me how. Because I have created the tablespace but am not able to use the tablespace. Error creating "Cannot create directory" while creating a new database in that tablespace.

I am curious to know why network drive has been used ? Are you trying on a personal system?? Can you try with local disk??
