Yeah, but remember, he's an actor who's doing all the right things to get the audience emotionally invested. If there was security footage of all of this, it would probably be an incredibly bland watch.

People who are rooting for the prisoner needs to understand that it is in human nature that we root for the underdog when watching stuff. We like seeing people with the smallest chance to "win" actually be victorious.

@@wert9265 I understand that, but if did end up escaping would it have been so horrible? He was accused of killing a cop. So I doubt he would kill just your average person. Was it really worth all the taxpayer money and manpower they put into trying to capture this man? Then after spending all that money using all their high-tech ways of trying to find him the cops aren't even the ones that found him. Somebody called in and told them exactly where he was. All they did was go to the place and pick him up. I can't say what exactly this man would do if he did escape, but I'm guessing he would have layed low and not caused much trouble. I doubt it was worth the expenses and trouble they went through to bring him back to jail.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we lived in a world in which people don’t get sentenced to useless imprisonment but instead they got sentenced to work and used their time productively and were forced to study and learn the skills necessary to be able to perform a decent job and not have to commit crimes again? Prisons are outdated, they bring down people who are already in low positions in life, they should be rethought imo so that the world can actually move forwards and waste less time and resources.
They said there was a lot of luck on his side with his escape, but when you have a prisoner who is smarter than all of the C.O.s combined, you don't need a ton of luck.
