Hi Doc, my 10 year old son had a seizure and he had a medication treated with phenobarbital for 2years but after 6 months he had a mild seizure ..my question is, why did his seizure come back after 2 years of his medication? please I am seeking your professional and medical advice..Thank you
Our grandson started having seizure type activity at 8 years old had a couple odd episodes of one side of his face a bit dropped lip quivering and unable to speak had two of those then no episodes for 3 months then woke us up with a full blown seizure, always immediately after going to sleep or right before waking up. The majority have small seizures have occurred after falling asleep. The one major seizure was right before waking up. We are still in the process of a diagnosis for him and or ruling out. They have issued emergency seizure med, and may give him a daily seizure med, im concerned how it will affect him, he is very smart. With his age where does that put him in the likelihood of out growing seizures vs not?

@@DrOmarDanoun I was on 500 mg depakote ER. No seizures for 2 years so my Dr weaned off from 500mg to 0. On 5th day I got little seizures so Dr told to go back to 500mg again! Is th weaning like this always? I think my seizures got back due to sudden stopping of 500mg. It should have been reducing the 500 mg dose to lower doses then stop. What do you think? Any experience please share on dosage during weaning. Also I think DM should have been given with lowering dose instead of ER.

We start thinking about stopping the medication after 2 years from the last seizure then we do the evaluation I described in the video and know the numbers then decide
I have an odd question.. If you have photosensitive epilepsey, Do anti seizure medications help & allow the person to start playing video games again? Or will you still have seizures being exposed to flashing lights from playing the games?
We know that medication treatment can lower the sensitivity to light... If video games are consistent in causing seizures they should be avoided.. I made a video talking about the issue

Sir my child didn't cry his birth time, after got oxygen then he cry, that time he is normal 3 day's, Day 4 the seizures happened, Now his age 3. His three year's age total seizures happened 8 time's. Last month before it's happened 5 time's. But last one month's seizures 3 time's. His doctors Now increase his medicines . The medicines now he gets Oxcarbazepine suspension 4 ml morning + 4 ml at night and half Clobazam 10 mg tablet every night. Sir can I sent my child details seizures history and medical documents?
