Hi do you think you can fit a folding table behind the tire. Like the one s that come with other rear bumper swing outs? Thanks. I know you would need a custom tube bracket.
I don’t remember having any actual issue, it was probably more of an issue explaining to my son how I need it to sit while I tighten everything down. It’s still on the rig and works great. An amazing bumper and tire swing.
Hey guys...with ATH Fabrication stating this "Receiver hitches are not officially load rated, but built plenty beefy." on their website, have you towed anything yet?
It’s a bit of a pain, but to keep the big bulge from the splice in the same spot, you can stagger the spots you splice at. You’d have to get further down the loom, but it doesn’t seem like extra time for looks is something you mind spending.
I have tried that on the rock lights and it didn’t turn out well. It’s hard to get the correct length out of each strand. I think the way I did it is the easiest and honestly, soldering wires is always stronger than a crimped connection. It does take a bit more time however.
Might be a dumb question but why didn't you splice your new reverse lights wiring into the existing tail light (reverse wire) harness instead of running it all the way to the front of the vehicle?
Definitely not a dumb question and probably something I should have covered in the video. I didn’t want the mega beam of the Diode Dynamics LED Lights coming on at the grocery store and blind someone behind me. I would rather have them on a switch and use them when needed. I can also have them on while driving on trails to have more light behind more or if I am working on something behind the truck. You can definitely get a lot more function out of a light on a switch than just the reverse light. Of course it’s totally a personal preference.
You can order the wire off Amazon I would imagine. Cut back the harness to expose the individual wires and count how many you have. 6 or 8 then order that cable. Good to go.

Another fine video... There's a connection for the camera harness just behind the plastic clip/guard on the bed. It's there so you can un-clip the plastic piece, pull it out of the "body", unplug the harness and remove the tailgate...... edit, oh yeah, second....
Daughter great video love watching what you deal very informative. I want to put a high clearance bumper on my truck to however because it’s a daily driver I feel I’d have to put a duel swingarm, because if I’m in a busy supermarket car park and I was to swing that arm out I have visions of someone running into it. I feel when the manufacturer that sell you the camera relocation kit, I think they should give you a plastic or rubber stopper to replace where the camera used to be so you don’t have a hole in your tailgate. So I have been shopping around for front and rear bumpers for my Toyota Tacoma it’s not been easy still trying to find exactly what I’m looking for. I would love to have an ARB summit bumper for the front of my truck. ARB‘s bumpers are engineered and tested to even work with your airbags and safety features however my truck is a 2020 Tacoma and they don’t have a bumper out yet that will work with my radar control and safety sensors as the location on the newer trucks are a little different than the 2019‘s. i’m still finding great difficulty with a dual swingarm high clearance rear bumper The best one I can see so far it is a CIB fabrications. And of course the one modification the holy Grail of all modifications I would love to put on my truck is a mid-ship long-distance fuel tank like what the Ozzie‘s use. The Ozzie‘s make fuel tanks for the truck where you take out the spare tire underneath and they fill all the dead space with an amazing fuel tank which basically increases your fuel capacity anywhere from 50 to 100%. Unfortunately because they don’t sell Toyota Tacoma‘s in Australia they have a manufactured any so I can’t even have one shipped from us otherwise I would. I live in Canada and a long distance fuel tank would be an amazing thing to have . so with you talking about stuff on your channel hopefully you’ll talk about this kind of thing and maybe some of the manufacturers might see it. The reason why I would prefer this over carry an extra Jerry cans on the rear bumper would be I could carry two spare tires instead of one tire and Jerry cans and with the tank being under the truck it would keep the centre of gravity real low to instead of having that extra weight hanging off the back of the truck. I’ve sent some emails to the Australian companies that make these tanks so if anyone is reading my comment and would like this kind of product available in North America send them an email two, the more people asking for it the more they might end up delivering it to us.
Thanks man. The dual swing arm would be nice. I like the speed of just having a single hinge. I just park in a place that doesn’t have small space behind. I know there is a company in the US that makes Tacoma long range tanks. I think it’s Long Range America. Best of luck.
Instead of electrical tape over the end of that braided loom, try using shrink wrap. It looks a lot cleaner and holds up better than the electrical tape adhesive in our brutal summer temps.
That is too funny. I actually did that during the front bumper wiring. Didn’t even know that was a thing until my buddy showed me. So much to learn. Electrical work is definitely a major weakness of mine. Thanks for the tip though. If you have any more keep them coming. I need all the help I can get!!!😂😂
Great vid! I spied the new front bumper, can't wait for those videos.... You planning on doing skid plates? I just bought and installed the ironman 4x4 super easy to install and really beefy plates. Quick question, what traction boards do you use? Suggestion: You should do a full video with links and cover all your mods and maybe drop a hint or two on future mods for the Taco.
Thanks man. New front bumper video is in the works. Probably a few weeks out. The Ironman skids are awesome. Haven’t quite decided which direction I want to go. My traction boards are the Firebug Recovery Boards off Amazon. They are $90 bucks and aren’t good. They are already showing stress cracks from using them a few times to level out the truck. Not good. Great video idea. I have something very similar planned. Just need to film it. Thx for watching and keep the good ideas coming!!!!
Definitely one of the sickest Tacomas out there now. What kind of canopy or shell is that? I’ve never seen one like it. What leaf springs are you using? That’s gotta be around 750lbs constant weight just in the back.
That was an awesome addition to your build and looks very professional, I wish I lived closer to you, I would get you to do mine now that you know how its done..lol. As always, a great in depth video, Thank you.
