The build quality is very impressive, even on some and most other expensive speakers you don't see quality like that. I am impressed. Thanks a lot Tee-jay
Hi Tee-Jay, thanks for another very interesting post 👍. As ever, love your enthusiasm. 3.20am here in Scotland, having another painful night, your video to my mind off it for 22 minutes, for that I thank you. Jim. 🏴 🙂
Thank you for the comment , Hope you get better soon my friend stay as strong as you can One of my Bestfriends is from Scottland I call him Scotty ! 😆Its 10:30 pm here in the 🇺🇸 Kentucky .
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 thank you for your kind words 👍. Great to hear you have fellow Scot for a friend. It's spondylitis and arthritis in hips and knees, have good days and bad days. As I said, thanks for taking my mind off it for a bit.😉 Jim 🏴🙂
I bought a pair Nov 2023. Amazing budget speakers. I had an issue with the crossovers. They came unglued from the binding post bracket. The glue they use is terrible. Comes right off. Used Gorilla adhesive and supported the long crossovers better. They are long and not very well supported, so probably got jarred in shipping and made the crappy glue come off. Sadly Mission would do nothing for me. No repair, replacement or anything. Just advised me to glue myself. But they otherwise sound awesome and are made very well. Wish they continued the heavy gauged wire all the way to tweeter.
Also stop kids putting Lego and small toys, the amount of times I've had to open up speakers to remove them. I have the mission qx2 the bigger brother and that has the mesh in the port as well, all manufacturers should do this. Brilliant idea that mission.
I've had a pair of these for a few months now and I'm seriously impressed with the build quality and performance. Mission really set the bar high for performance value.
Hey Tee-jay, it’s been a while, you’ve been well! It’s not very often that you see a bookshelf speaker that is inverted, with the woofer on top and the tweeter on the bottom, and have never seen a speaker design, with the crossover soldered right on the binding post. That’s a really good idea, which I’d imagine would shorten the signal path! Very curious to check them out myself, but don’t have the room for another pair! I have seen that Dynaudio have released a new revised version of my bookshelf’s, the Emit M20. It’s too bad that Dynaudio are stingy about shipping out speakers to audio reviewers. I really think if they just agreed to do this, they would get a lot more attention! The price of the new Emit M20’s have gone up a bit, compared to the original M20’s. Think the new M20’s were around $1699.00AUD, and the old ones were $1299.00AUD. Anyways, I always enjoy your videos, keep rockin! 🤘😎
Thanks for stopping in Dragonfly I do believe dynaudio does have a group of reviewers , I would love to review them I have 4 sets of speakers in that price range to make reference point with. Also yeah my 70plus workweeks are over finally !! New job with weekends off I will try now to post atleasr 2 videos a week 😃 I have more gear still in boxes 😆
The bracing is impressive, most speakers in this price range don't have this much. The crossover looks like they could have spent a tad more on it though,. 2 iron core inductors seems like penny pinching. Once again, good content. Thanks
Theirs 2 inductors on woofer 1 conductor on tweeter for a budget speaker i am impressed look up the crossovers in speakers like the the Kef Q-350 /Q-150 Or Klispch 600m I think you will be shocked that they cost way more also 😃 Thanks for stopping in A total of 2 componetes
Dear Tee-Jay, hello, and congratulation for your very nice, fun and informative Chanel! I like that you say your opinion free & subjective and the way you do the reviews :) I would like to ask here few questions please: Are they the Lx2 or Lx 3 (mkii ver.)? How, do you guys believe, they 'll behave in a small relative room like bedroom, on the top of Tv furniture (wood) about 80 cm height , 40 mm wide, and how close to wall can i put them. If you have any experience with these or similar partnering with Rotel amp. (e.g. A11 Tribute). Thanks for your patient and understanding! John
No comparison, the Missions outperform by multiples, well worth the money. In fact, they aren't embarrassed by comparisons with speakers well above their price range.
I have been taking speakers apart for over 30 years I make sure theirs no risk of damage , their already back together but i forgot to ask Jam Industries for permission 1st , Hopefully they dont mind . Its perfect and I wanted to shoe people what their spending their money on 😆
looking at the MKII towers, it's curious they only weigh 15lbs, and there's no explanation I can find as to why they weight half or one-third the weight of other towers. no mention.
Thanks for taking the time to do that autopsy and show us the guts out. Very revealing. I'm impressed with the build quality like most people will be. I was not expecting that!
Espically for the price I bought these from the U.S. distributor and my friend with the Yamaha As 301 loves the combo ! These flew under the radar for pricepoint ' and gave Klisph and Triangle a run for the money '
Hay T.J . Thanks a lot for your clear and professional explanations. Would you please tell me how would those Mission get alone with my Denon PMA 600?The speaker haven't arrived home yet and I may have the chance to change Denon for Yamaha 301. Thanks a lot from Spain, the other side of the ocean¡¡
Denon may be to warm sounding with Missions my Marantz amps were to warm but the Yamaha is perfect for mission speakers The Missions are built very well for pricepoint but they also like taller stands you want the tweeter to be at ear level when your sitting down hope this helped
Hi T.J- You were right, Denon was quite warm sounding with Mission. Unfortunately I couldn´t get Yamaha as you rightly suggested me but anyway the Mission Speaker are amazingly working and they make real diference with the rest of the speaker I have tested. THANKS AGAING cause your video helped me to take the right desition and saving a lot of time ...Thanks¡¡
@@damians8458 How you digging the Denon Personally I have always had a soft spot with theirs amps - And Always Had good luck with B&W/Kef/Klispch speaker pairing- Love to try out the New PMA-1700 dual mono integrated that Steve Guttenberg video reviewed Looks great for Price point .
Lol Yeah thats crossed my mind quite a bit ! I mean this much R&D for a budget speaker no telling what instored with Entry level ! Thanks for stopping in 😃
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 i still own a Nice pair of PSB Stratus Mini with also inverted drivers technology. It,s a Nice Canadian brand own by the legendary Paul Barton, who is also the head designer, like Peter Comeau for Mission/Wharfedale/Castle. A pity you don,t live in Canada, i would send you my pair for a deep review like this and a sound comparaison. Would be for sure very interesting, one higher end Canadian famous bookshelf pair from the 90,s early 2000 with an actual nice pair from Mission (from which the sound and build quality I pretty like too)!
QX2 Mk 2 has more premium (Brighter) tweeter technology 🎶 Great for the price I bought them to go with Marantz PM6006 the older model of the current PM6007 which both designed to drive 4ohm Sound like larger speakers 👍
@@nicotorres5867 The Marantz PM6006 /Mission QX2 Mk 2 is my number 2 system - just for the dining area. I don't play it very loud. Excellent stereo separation. Sound is much less forward & less etched & less analytical (some might find recessed than my main Naim /Focal set up. It has a very front to back Soundstage This makes for a very unfatiguing listen with a surprising amount of less harsh soft bass (rolled off) Speaker build & control are a bargain at this price point (UK retail £349 - so around 400 USD) I would think they would sound a little cleaner with the new "Mission 778" amp (rrp £549 or £799 marketed as package by them. As I understand its essentially an Audiolab 6000 inside. Hope this helps 👍🙂
Hi Man, have you compared these to the Wharfedale diamond 12.1's? I'm torn between the two, but the LX2's are 82 USD cheaper than the Diamond 12.1's where i cuirrently live. So i'm really not sure if it's worth spending the extra on the Wharfedales?
Wharfedale 12.2. I have both the LX2 mk2 and 12.2 and after sometime the 12.2’s were just the better speaker imo. The LX2 can get a bit chaotic with some music it seems to struggle at a times to keep a grip on more complexed stuff. I grew tired of the LX2 quite quickly while with the 12.2 I never did, a very easy speaker to live with.
Confused between wharfdale D 12.2 and this one. Can't audition personally at place where I live. Which will be better buy around 300£? I like warm sound signature. Thanks
