Absolute garbage brand. I've been building my own speakers since the early 90's, and occasionally I try WhatHiFi (predictable) 5-Star products for a comparison. Tannoy, Mission, Kef and Monitor Audio in particular. It's a reminder to me of how bad so-called Audiophile speakers are, especially given the price point. Plenty of good, inexpensive speaker kits around, that's the route i would advise. But for the love of all that's good, stay away from any commercial speakers below £5,00. And above £5,000, again I would choose a speaker kit from Parts-express, Madisound, Wilmslow Audio (UK) before i got to overpriced, commercial garbage from the likes of Focal or Wilson Audio.
@themarksmanABP man I slightly talked about it during me review of Voyager mk2 Se ' alot to comment be a book long lol ' metas have the bass ext and imaging and SE have midrange purity and top end resolution ' Basically ' metas $600 more most people will want powered subs with SE but they do have upper bass punch ' but they love quality power I mean they like 83db efficient '
@themarksmanABP man making my come back this week been a long 3 months buddy bladder cancer had been no joke but beating it so far !! Going to review Geshelli labs j2 vs Denefrips Ares2 😃
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 oh wow, sorry to hear that pal... Speediest recovery! I've read so many awesome things about geshelli labs. That will be a great review
Tee-Jay Your detailed review of the 7000a was superb. I am in the market for a new analog system, and the HDMI arc, and the great tone controls of the 7000a sealed the deal. The engineers did a very impressive job with refinement of this product. You do a great job, as usual. PS: This has to be the first audio review containing the word "booger". Fine job keepin' it real!
@donniet8953 thank you the 7000a has no tone controls it does have 7 digital filters and analog input you can control thr gain plus or mins 5db just want to make sure you know that thanks again appreciate the comment
With ares2 Paired to 7000a yes internal dac imho is just as good I mentioned this in my review of 7000a I even popped the hood to show all internals, especially the internal dac I like the ares2 don't get me Wrong espically with my brighter sounding Amps
Great video thank you! Did you see any improvement in volume? I ask because typically when you double the power you get an additional 3db of output. This means that adding an amplifier to an integrated while by-amping could be a solution for someone that wants a bit more volume output, while keeping the speakers they like!
Hi, how you compare Denafrips Ares 2 with Audiolab 7000a's internal DAC. Do you think buying Denafrips Ares 2 will be an improvement on Audiolab 7000a's internal DAC. What are your thoughts, Thanks in advance
@mohammadamir6192 Audiolab spent alot of budget on internal dac they done an amazing job ' they been building around the ESS Sabre chip for 13 years power supply/circuit output stage , and now their internal dac just as good as My Denefrips Ares 2 being paired to 7000a even the British audiophile utuber notice this also ' it's rare to have built in dac this good This is why I show close up of internal dac ' most intgrated Amps built in dacs aren't thay good example about to review the Denon PMA 1700 it's internal dac sucks but denon put most their budget into the amp section of their 1700 Intg amp
I’m late to the game, but I am impressed with the Galion. I’m running quad S2 with a REL T5. I would be using my Vincent SV500 and using it as a preamp.
Thanks a lot for the detailed review! It's great that you show the build and the user experience of the device! That's something no other channel on RU-vid really does.
I have a 1974 Sherwood receiver (70WPC) with "mains in" connectors and I bi-amped it with my Audiolab 6000A. The Sherwood is powering the bass. Huge improvement in dynamics. I more than doubled the power input into my speakers. I can now get the same quality of sound at 10 decibels lower volume. 😀
No! they maxed out because of the low damping factor of the tube amp not necause of power...try a solid state amp and feed them with double the power...you will get more db and controlled cone movement...
Owned and own many solid state Intg Amps only the high current ones can keep up in terms of full flesh n body weight bass Attack and Dynamics total control ' Amp paired to my dynaudio towers gets impressively loud
Yes they are lower noise vs older V6s the new v7 bass has real diffention microdetails are more apparent Burson put in some serious R&D !! MY SPARKOS SS3602 HAVE FINALLY BEEN DEFEATED !!
Hey,the question is how 8300a compared to 6000a play!.does the 6000a play made the "upgrade"from 6000a?And how better it might sound overall.8300a <6000aplay? 8300a>6000a play?8300a =6000a play..??
Great, detailed review! I’m considering either the 8300A or the 7000A. I will use it primarily in analogue mode, and I’m really not interested in Bluetooth or HDMI etc. I can get either new for the same price of around $1000. For my needs I guess the 8300 is the better choice, but I’m also thinking some things may have improved with the newer 7000A model? And the supposedly beefier bass of the 7000A also talks to me. Very difficult decision. 😅
8300a is more of a pure breed for sure ' pre-outs only work on 8300a when it's in preamp mode so to hook up a sub to 8300a you'd need to use hi level input Sub ' 8300a does sound more sweet whereas 7000a has a fuller sound due to stronger bass ' the dac in 7000a is one of the best I have heard in an integrated amp ' crazy how good it is ! For me it would come down to speaker pairing synergy '
Great Video. Thanks for sharing. I like the fact that you opened it and showed us the inside. I have one question, if I may. Can I connect my Marantz 2230 to it as a preamp? If I can, can I still use the HDMI(arc) when I watch my TV. I want to use my 2230 as a Preamp when I listen to radio and turntable and use the Audiolab for my TV and streaming. Is that possible?
@StereoTherapy-m7x no when you put marantz in preamp mode means you have to put 7000a in amp mode ' 'amp only' not intg amp anymore bypasses Audiolab7000a internal pre which connects the dac .
@chrishmeet hate to let the cat out of the bag but dam it's really good I own and have owned many $3k-4k Amps and the TS-A20 has a warm and sweet sound but it's NOT muddied up great seperation amazing imaging and the bass geez man even at 'low volume' my dynaudio/Polks have crazy low end bass I mean the amp digs deep ' it's one of the best Amps I have heard still hard to believe it's 20 watts I never heard a warm amp sound so clean again imaging as good as my 60 and 70 pound tube Amps! You can really hear the depth and layers of the soundstage so easily ' ans all this with just the Freya Plus Pre with a better preamp like in the $3-4k range yeah it would be nuts !!
I tell y’all I use’em for huntin and they sound amazin, the bass pops just like my 12 gauge! 🤣🤣🤣 Gotta love the „redneck” wall treatment, probably carpet from an old pickup 🤠 The KEF’s cabinets are far from solid, only one brace and almost no acoustic damping, just two small pieces of polyester fiber
Thanks! Very helpful! My Vincent amplifier doesn't has a dedicated Sub out, but also no Speaker A, B switch. But it still works on the four speaker out posts.
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 overtime pay looks good in the bank, but it can sure wear you down. I used to work at an automotive vehicle assembly plant, and when we were busy running six plus days a week... I had basically no other life 🤣
@toddt5562 Yeah I am an industrial maint tech I work on muti-million dollar machines and Automated robotic systems been there for 13 years now yeah I have about 18years worth of time put in if I was to base work week on 40hrs I'd love a 40 hour work week ' I am burned out badly but need the insurance
Do yourselves a favor and buy some DALI speakers instead, I have had several KEFs and DALIs and the latter gives you more for your money, but chances are you will buy the “name” and go with KEF, but hey! I am guilty too, that is also part of the journey
In terms of helping with cabneit residences yes ' but far as overall sound that dang 40th is a different animal and it gets loud but bass rolls of fast below 50hz but midrange tonality my goodness man but the 40th does like real power !! Most pep will want a powered sub with 40th Drops to 2.5 ohms small weakamp will sound thin!!
@kenhelmick2593 yeah the Horizons barley fit into the sockets the glass is so big ' but they do have more life up top in the treble giving the stage an more open sound and a little bit more clarity and better seperation ' and I haven't heard any hiss yet !! But tungsol alot better than the JJs I am wanting to try the new Ray tubes also they only pic the top 5 percent measuring tubes the Ray kt88 are outstanding ' 👌
