Old school muscle car guys that drag race with rear leaf springs put two or even three clamps between the axle tube and the front spring eye and leave the back entirely unclamped. Basically this turns the leaf springs into a pseudo 2-link or trailing arm rear suspension - which is more ideal for hard drag strip launches. I've seen it firsthand, it's crazy how leaves in the rear all fan out on a launch. But they claim it works well as it helps drive the tires into the ground instead of lifting them as "spring wrap" tends to do. Forcing the rear tires into the ground on launch is a good thing. I'd suggest taking your clamps off the rear and putting them on the front.
Well shoot! I really hoped it was something easy, but you have a result even if it’s not what you want. You ruled out a possibility of something that could be wrong. I am really glad you gave it a shot, and think of it this way, you have more content to come.
That's my next thing to double check. When I bore scoped the intake runners, I didn't really check where the threads breach the runners. I I know i didn't use any sealer on them.
@@SquarebodyStuff hopefully you will see this, but i have the same set of head on my 350 and they do protrude into the intake runner. i would definitely check to make sure its sealed. just found this same issue on a set of head that i bought and put on a motor and caused a very similar smoking/fowling plug due to no sealant on the rocker studs in the head
I’m by far any kind of mechanic especially engine building and I haven’t seen any of you other videos . Just stumbled on this and thought it was cool. However are you sure this is lol smoke and not fuel smoke. As is too rich?
@@SquarebodyStuff oh ok … I was thinking the exact opposite. Thank you so much and good luck . Hope you will share what you find in the future. I have two square bodies myself . A 74 and an 80 I have had since high school that was my dads old work truck
