I just found your channel. In production for my first short film. How do you determine how long each scene will take to shoot? I'm one person shooting on one camera. I've found getting 1 scene: multiple angles and movements took way longer than I anticipated. How do I manage my time better while giving myself enough to chose from during editing?
Love your work, Kevin. Really enjoying this series. It's cool to see the BTS, learn more about what you're doing, and why. It's also nice to hear about the challenges you, and your crew, are encountering (time, exposure, etc). There would be no real reward, without a real challenge. We all have "music" within us. Something that will energize those around us, who hear (and see) it. However, too many people make it to the end of their lives without ever sharing their music with the world. They choose to not share it for various reasons; Fear of failure, judgement, rejection, etc. Kevin, thank you for sharing your "music" with us. Thank you for keeping it real with the challenges encountered. You are appreciated, man.
Man, I’m so grateful to receive such a compliment. Yours words are very much appreciate it and I feel so encouraged by people like you. I’m so glad you enjoy it and really hope it helps in some way or another, or at least entertaining. I’ll keep singing my song 🙏🏽
Another baller video man. Please keep making these, even with ads or pieces that might seem boring. Your results and methodology are consistently good, imo and I really am taking notes. What tripod head are you using, it looks like a Benro?
Did you guys just go natural with the magic hour/blue hour stuff? Or did you have bounces or fill lights or anything? I know you said you didn’t have time, but those shots look freaking fantastic!
Love all details...thanks...just curious for a large shoot over a few days, large crew, equipment, talent, etc...what was the budget for a project this big?
Hey there, thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed. I’m not sure what the overall budget was, I was brought in as a director/DP so I just got my day rates paid.
Thanks so much for posting this! I was a PA one of those days and learned a lot from watching you. This gives me a more in-depth look into your process, so thank you Kevin!
Thank you, very informative and fun to watch these! Gotta say though, potenital bridge burner @4:55 .. ironically so many tennis balls in this vid, yet none in this shot.
Loving every part to this series! More of this please! Would love to see a video by you on how to use and handle an easy rig. Pro tips and common mistakes would be awesome!
Whaaaaaaaaaaaat. He said he’d try to upload part 3 ........ didn’t realise it would be so soon. I’ve not even watched yet and I’m buzzing 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Update: I’ve watched and it’s again amazing content giving real behind the scenes look at a commercial shoot. Looking forward to the final part 👌🏾
