Continuing from pt2 - tweaking the Bosch VE 300tdi injector pump for more performance through the rev range.
This is not an instructional/tutorial video. Please refer to your workshop manual.
Note: My videos are not a tutorial/how to. I am not a qualified mechanic so please refer to your workshop manual with your work. Do not use the content on my channel as a replacement for a workshop manual or mechanic.

did you notice that you rotated the piece of about 20° clockwise when taking care not to pinch tre rubber?

+Fergus M I always tripple check the settings as its not a good idea to work on a vehicle with one hand and film on the other without a final check (off camera).

While doing this, are you getting more or less diesel in the engine?? Im looking to make the blend richer but dont know which way to adjust. Great video btw.

The more angle the pin has, the more fuel supply. It’s a trial and test thing, so adjust, go for a drive and review. Too much black smoke is wasted fuel and ads no performance. Just a little mist on throttle is generally what to aim for. Cheers

dont adjust spring resistance just turn diafram clockwise 15 deg for extra power or you can do the idle to bost test in a high gear as long as there is not to much black mist when turbo kicks in ur sound

I adjusted all the settings (as in vids) to get the perfect balance. The lower spring setting allows more fuel early on without black smoke, so I managed to get the best fueling through the rev range with hardly any smoke but just a bit of mist when heavy on throttle.

I have a 98 disco and I did this and know it doesn’t seem to be getting any fuel

Are you sure you put it back correctly? Make sure when you put it back the little pin inside is fully pushed back so the pin sits correctly. with the pin out, look down the hole and you may see it sticking out, if so use a stew driver to push it back into its recess.

hello i have a disco 1 300tdi and the injector pump was adjusted by a previous owner, i was told by him that everything was turned right up and when i drive there is a lot of black smoke even while highway driving you can see smoke. im getting about 500k's out of a tank. im running 32's. boost is about 15psi. how do i turn it back to stock specs?

Sounds like its over-fueling... you should only get a slight mist when driving and maybe a bit of smoke under load (like towing uphill). I get about 650k out of a tank without towing, running 245x75x16s. My boost is 17psi. Yes can turn back to stock but why? I recon turning the pin to adjust would be a first step. Do you have an EGT gauge? If not, GET ONE given its been adjusted.

I winge when i get less than 800k out of a tank. seriously, when towing or loaded right up. When not towing and only carrying camping gear, i get 900+ out of a tank. I was running 265/70/16. From Gympie to Townsville on a tank and a half....about 1500ks.
