It seems like it can become a grind at times, but guessing you will carry the good moments with you forever. Not to mention the challenge you presented yourself with and example you set for your children.

Great ride! Those gravel sections can seem to come out of nowhere. Hit about 100 klicks of gravel in northern Mantoba a few years ago and a rock went through the belt and cut it about half way through. But she made it home.

I’m really enjoying this series. The amount of miles you put in day in and day out is truly impressive. Also, I got a chuckle @9:33 with all the ADV bikes…and there you are with your Road King. 😆

This looks like such a fun trip. I kind of want to follow your tracks. But you should have used a bike with longer range! Many bikes can do 300 on a tank!

Very rough estimates, I went up from Vancouver BC and back at of 600+ days. The further N you go the more Expensive it gets, I was able to find accommodation for between 100 to 150 per night up to Dawson Creek after this it was 150 to 200 in the North it was well over 200 a night. It was 18;day trip for me. I found a hostel or camped rough a couple in Alaska. I stayed pretty much the cheapest dump available or camped so. If you have your own bike 250 bucks a day if you want to eat well and sleep comfortably. I was finding somewhere the night before so lot of places were full and I had to some really long days. I did the Dempster and booked it 6 months ahead 200+ per night.

The Yukon Highways are masters of understatement you lucky if the sign even says bump. I came S Down the Alaska Highway at the beginning July Through the Great Canadian Smokey Mountains. Heck of a road. Saw a lot of wildlife and it’s and some of the gas stations were closed.

You may have pumped gas into your bike from a station with water in their underground tanks and it took your bike a few fill ups to run it all out. I've seen that happen before. Especially if you fill up at a mom and pops type of station that doesn't see much traffic. Condensation builds up in those underground tanks.
@CrunchMoto

Thanks for watching! I've never ridden a trike, but spoke with a rider at Fairbanks Harley Davidson who took it to the Dalton Highway sign but was concerned about ground clearance if she went any farther. Check out my next video about the Dalton and decide for yourself. (I will post it the week of 9/11)

@CrunchMoto

Did the guys at Calgary HD figure out the gas mileage issue?
@CrunchMoto
@CrunchMoto 7 месяцев назад
Nope. They chalked it up to speed and headwinds... which turned out to be true because I got much better fuel economy once I slowed down a bit.

Hey I have been enjoying your videos on the Alaska trip I have a question, did you ship your bike back? If so who brought it? Thanks Planning my trip this year. Not sure if I should just go to glacier national park and Banff national park. Would love to hear your thoughts Thanks for the videos. God bless !!!
@CrunchMoto
@CrunchMoto 7 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching. Hope you found it inspiring. Yes- I shipped my bike back. I wasn't particularly happy with the company, so I can't recommend them. I will tell you that it would have been easier and cheaper to ship from Anchorage than Fairbanks. Also would have been better for me to make the arrangements before the trip instead of within 24 hours of me flying home from Fairbanks. The Harley dealership was great about holding the bike for a week at no cost. Banff and the surrounding area is beautiful but crowded so be ready for a little bit of traffic. We stayed in Canmore which has easy access to Banff. Feel free to bounce other questions off me. Happy to help. Cheers!

@@CrunchMoto thanks for the reply I love in south Florida and for the last 3 years I have ridden from Boca to Denver where I leave the bike for the summer. I used motorcycle adventure company to store my bike. But 2023 I rented a storage unit near the airport I kept going west and left my bike 2022 road glide ultra in Vegas. So I am planning to go north so Alaska is a viable option. But a buddy of mine that did the trip 4 years ago said he was not happy he rode from here to dead horse. He said much better to fly and rent a bike there. lol I can’t do that.

maybe I missed it in the last video but, what was the reason for the excessive fuel consumption you were experiencing?
@CrunchMoto

You do great videos. Well crafted. But these rides were too long, and too fast. You barely showed us where you stopped, what troubles you had. 600 mile days aren't fun. Your 'across the USA' vids were a better mix of riding and sights. Don't get me wrong, your work is exceptional. But what good is the experience if you just blow though the country?
@CrunchMoto
@CrunchMoto 11 месяцев назад
I agree, 600-mile days don't leave much time for anything other than riding. If I could do it again, I'd aim for 400 or 500-mile days.

Man you can't criticize him I rode from Philly to Sturgis and I was doing between 560 and 620 mile days u don't have time to constantly stop and always take pics and constantly talking in the camera your trying to get to places by certain times also most motorcycle riders don't like riding at night because your sight is restricted and it can be dangerous so you really have to push it during daylight hours I commend this guy for being able to do this trip i rode long trips you have no idea the shyt this man was going through while he was riding be happy he was able to record what he did and shared it with the world
