2nd instalment about another baby monkey. I'll watch out for him and his mum in the weeks to come ! Music : Light Thought var 3 by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (incompetech.com/)
Thanks all for enjoying my video. I 've very busy lately and my hands are full. I would love to answer all your questions but I am a little bit overwhelmed at the moment and please accept my apology. During my seeming absence in the last few days Gina Powell has been kind to volunteer to fill the void and I am really grateful for her input. As always her knowledge in this subject will always command my respect. I agree with Gina that Baty will be doing fine. He's just a bit slow to start off with - He's probably near the lower percentile on a normal distribution curve but things should improve in due course.
I wish you luck with your busy work schedule. You are great to watch the troop for us! I for one am hooked and will wait eagerly to see what happens to Batty, Damien, Stumpy, et al :-) They look to be at least reasonably well-fed, living the life of an honest beggar :-)
Mikey, you might enjoy Monkey Home... An opposite of Arroz, they have adopted several monkeys who are treated like family, complete with clothing, high chairs, beautifully trained and behaved. They are monkeys with special needs and are amazing. With translations now available they are quite fun and educational. I have been watching about 5 years and think you will enjoy them very mucj!
@@sharonstromley9350 have many thanks for the information about monkey home. ❤️ I'll give it a try tonight. 🤗 Stay healthy and best wishes from Germany
There are too many videos of people exploiting these animals or trying to make pets out of them. The babies they get to make pets out of were stolen from their Moms.
Poor little bat ear is right, the level of adorableness Batty was when he was first born is unmeasurable LOL so stinking cute! Those ears are something else LOL
Wow what a contrast to all the handouts of 2020, am I right? It's so strange to see the monkeys actually foraging and eating stuff like petals. I love deep diving into your library, Arroz! Thank you for years of so much hard work so we can enjoy our monkey friends. All the best to you!
a mothers steadfast love saw this little baby thru. obviously delayed possible premie who knows his life in her hands. she loved him enough to stay behind and tend to him and now look he is getting there.
OH this is now our Baty. that's great that his body caught up with him. So much respect to his Mother who cared so tenderly for him until he was well. Maybe he was born a little early. Either way it's nice to know now how he began his life.... I have such much more respect to his Mom..
What a sweet little newbie! He looks so very young, poor dear. No wonder he can't hold onto Mom very well. She is so patient with this little guy. What a wonderful video!
thank you so much Arroz, i love your videos, they are the best! they are creative, artistic, and tastefully done. I Bat Ears, he is my favorite, I think, of all time! I think he has a beautiful face. I also believe he is brand-new even though I'm the first to admit I really don't know much about monkeys. Once I started watching these videos though I can't stop! I am addicted to these darned monkeys, I love them so much. anyway, I think this monkey is just fin, he's a baby and I think she's a good mom too. I love her because she doesn't overgrown him. I get so mad at those moms that pick their baby unmercifully! and she doesn't seem upset at all by him not holding on tightly with his feet. she stopped and let him rest quite nicely. she doesn't abuse him and be mean to him because he's slow ... I just think they're wonderful little team.
Arroz I love your movies, I just ask one thing for old lady can you make your comment tags just a nice size bigger like some you do and post them a little longer so my old eyes can read them they disappear so fast. Thank you old lady in Idaho. USA.. Love you.
I wonder if these babies have any idea just how adorably cute they are when they make those little curious faces, or angry faces or do things like yawn or fight mom for her goodies...
I just happened to read through quite a bit of this thread before I posted my first comment. I learn a lot this way, it's amazing ... it appears there are a small bit of people who think they're so cute, clever and witty ... their rudeness just makes them seem small, ugly, so petty. I'm embarrassed FOR them momentarily, until I remember that they surely are not embarrassed, so why should I be? also, just a quick shout-out to Miss Gina Powell, I really do learn a lot from you, thank you very much for sharing your extensive knowledge, I really appreciate it very much! again, I thank you and you too arroz
Mom looks tired. She needs to find a soft place to lay down and cuddle with baby and take a nap. Now precious they both are. Thanks for a beautiful video.
Back in 2016 I remember watching all the video's he did with all the new babies from the Bossy Troop from Monkey Hill. Best batch of babies born that season hands down IMO. So fun to go back and re-watch these little ones from the beginning.
Just FYI for anyone interested or those concerned about his strength and inability to hold onto mom...about 20% of all newborn macaque infants cannot hold onto mom independently and requires her support
This beautiful boy is going to be just fine. His ears may protrude a bit , but other than that they are normal. He appears to be very young and is getting accustomed to his environment. Just as our babies are born with different personalities, so are these babies. He's a bit nervous but he'll calm down when he realizes that humans walking past, cars honking, and people with cameras are part of his life . Thank you for sharing your talent Arroz Marisco.....your videos are a treat to the eye and the heart.
At first I thought he might have issues with hypotonia or some other underlying neurological issues but by the end of the video I come to the conclusion that he's just at the lower end of the normal distribution curve for mastering essential survival skills.. He should do fine with his sensible mum.
I know your post is 4 years old, but hopefully you’ve been fortunate enough to follow Baty & Dolly & the others on Arroz’s channel. If you have you know that there’s nothin wrong w/lil Baty. Just a lil small, clumsy & tired in his debut show. But, it didn’t last more than a couple days to see his spirit come alive.😎
@@yvonnemillward2022 Additionally, studies show that infants can detect in their mother’s milk if she’s a new mum or has had many babies, if she’s healthy, and if baby needs to exert more of his own energy on foraging & growing or if he can relax more and just have fun.😎
Darren Brown I read a similar article about markers in the mothers milk that prepare the baby on how to react in later life if food was scarce. I believe we're only just scraping the very first layer of nature, it's so wonderful & not enough of us appreciate it.
At 19:08 he's just so exhausted he can't even hold his head up or eyes open. The poor thing... And his mom...patience of a saint! She really kinda needed to catch up to the rest of the troop but had to just give it up because he couldn't latch on.
That baby is lethargic. No milk, she’s not a good mom. Her mind is on finding a troop and not making sure her baby is fed. She was denying it early on and now it seems like it’s barely hanging on. Poor thing
Omg he is so effing cute when he's trying to sleep at the middle part. He def. is lacking though he might be a bit premature. This mom is very patient. Love your vids Arroz. Keep posted on lil baty
How could anyone resist that adorable face and big goofy ears??? What a sweetie! I just want to scoop that baby up and give lots of cuddles and treats!!!!!
Sweetest mother ever. She knows he's a little "off" and helps him out by holding his floppy head as he nurses and keeps propping him up and slowing down for him.
This poor little guy is a pre- me baby but has a strong heart 💜 to live. Excellent mother he has to notice he is struggling hard but still doing his best. Good to see how smart she is to realize that she needs to stop to care for him with extra help. Others would just say goodbye then leave him behind, natures way is not always the best way. Only thing, to bad she could not carry him on her back instead of her belly. He had both feet on her, both hands on her, plus a nipple in his mouth as a extra grib to stay on !! He figured it out but still was to weak to hold on. Thankfully mom knew she had to rest awhile for his safety, while putting their safety on the line here. Awesome job all the way around !! 👍🏻
You would never know from seeing Baty now that he kind of a rough start when he was born. He is healthy handsome monk and has recently been kicked out of the troop by Grandee to become a man. Although he is only 3 or 4 years of age Grandeee kicked him out along with fan favorite Dopey. They are a bit insecure and unsure but seem to be finding their way....
This is a newborn! I believe baty will be fine...I like the name Gizmo too by the way!!! He actually has a wonderful mom very patient! I have seen some mothers leave their babies behind to stay up with the troop! She rested as much as she could! Thank you as always for a beautiful video! 🙉
??? You have seen macaque mothers leave their newborns in order to keep up with a troop??? And more than once? Where did you see it at? What type of macaque was it? I am shocked as over many years I have never seen a macaque mother leave a newborn because it was preventing her from keeping up with her troop. I have seen some get nervous because they were getting left behind and then get impatient with the infant but never leave a newborn behind! I would like to hear more about it please.
+Telly Kimbrough Thanks for all that information you provided. I came back to read it all over again, but somehow it must have been deleted. Hopefully not before any others had the chance to read such a wonderful experience you had described. That is just way too much to rewrite all over again. So, please don't go out of your way to retype it. Thanks again!
OMG!!! name him gizmo !!! oh dear lord look at those ears!! how adorable this baby is!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh u just love watching him!!!! spectacular video!!!!!
There was one other oddity that I noticed about the bat-eared baby, besides its bat ears. Most of the younger monkeys have very pinkish hands, with little to no hair on them. They always remind me of human hands. Anyway, the bat-eared baby has very dark hair on its hands. That looked a bit unusual to me, considering the pinkish looking hands of most of the other babies. Just an observation.
I love your videos I can't seem to put the videos down it makes my day I watch the ones on Facebook and they are horrible there is so much hurt and pain for these monkey thanks for showing me a better side I can't seem to read the fine print goes to fast
If there was an A+ for your video, I would give it to you! Being a collage grad there is no A+ at the University I attended. Just an A. I can only guess that you attended a collage of photography. Videos like yours don't come often on RU-vid. Keep up the good work! Oh, I give you an A+ anyway...
I'm honestly thinking he was premature as the latest video shows a vast improvement, but he still appears smaller than some of the younger monkeys so I guess he's just lagging on the growth/development curve. The progress he made is encouraging.
Hi Arroz, Why do people keep saying more than once that "He's dying!" how do they take such a massive left turn leap? Sure I admit he does show signs to suggest a preemie, with that said he is progressing at a normal rate with this consideration. I've just realised that this little guy is the Baty we all love, sorry guys! eek! Why the penny didn't drop sooner I guess is the problem with going back into the Arroz monkey archives and watching his stunning movies out of correct sequence Oops! xxx
I just adore good moms compared to those like Nora with her young baby - this mom loves her tolerance and making sure this little fellow gets fed properly. Thanks to you Mom - you're terrific and this little guy will get bigger and become as good as all the other babies.
John and Chad we have heard all those comments before and are bored and disgusted with you two. I bet you share the same Mother as it seems someone has been stomping on your heads.
nope but im sure the neighborhood u live in has shared ur mom, wife, daughter....or even dad, bro or son? shit, who knows what broke back mountain u fell from...but that was SUCH an original on ur part as well...never EVER heard "mom" cracks on thee ol you tube..
I also notice how his feet look curved away from the mother's body where his toes would need to come in contact with her side in order to grasp. I'd like to think that with walking on those feet they will straighten out...maybe he should be called lucky when he overcomes this ;)
He could have been a twin with the other baby not having survived. This might explain the evidence of his being crushed into a small space and somewhat folded up and bent because of it.
This little guy's behavior reminds me of the 'Poor Baby Monkey' series. That baby had similar motor function issues and, coupled with either an inexperienced or incompetent mom, was pretty much doomed from the start and eventually did succumb. That situation was in a zoo setting. At least here the mom is doing all the right things for the baby (the mom in the other videos would carry the baby around by the tail or rear leg and not even give it many opportunities to feed as well as just plunking it down somewhere and letting it fend for itself), so whether this one survives very long will be mostly up to how the baby adapts. I don't hold out much hope for it, sadly. Thank you for posting all your videos - they are always entertaining and informative to watch.
That monkey had to deal with an abusive troop and an incompetent/abusive mother. This one is at least in good hands and isn't being threatened by the troop.
There does appear to be something not quite right, but perhaps with time it’ll work itself out? IDK which part of the brain controls the muscles, gait, etc.
