December 1985: On or around this date in history 38 years ago, in a moment of uncharacteristic and exceedingly rare humility, Bhaktipada confides to his female housekeeper that after his head injury two months earlier, he compulsively engages in sexual activities daily, even hourly, as he had done twenty years earlier while a graduate student at Columbia University. Bhaktipada admits he drinks alcohol “to cure his pain.” He also claims the house cat causes him to become sexually aroused and that he uses “many different objects” to penetrate his anus and stimulate himself. None respond, except Jayapataka, who writes directly to Bhaktipada and suggests Bhaktipada take legal action against his housemaid.

I'm reading Vol. 4 right now. You got name checked on one of the pages. I'm over halfway through. I have to put it down sometimes as its grueling as its just horribleness after horribleness after horribleness, and my stomach needs a break sometimes. I plan to read another in the series (9? The one on the christianizing of ISKCON). I find it really interesting and disconcerting and another reason to keep ISKCON at the end of a 10 foot stick. I did a podcast on one page in the book that got my interest, and got lambasted for it (as expected). I was told whatever the guru says is god's words, and I as a mere mortal should not question. Also, it is bad to criticize any religions and I'm making the world a horrible place by doing so. So Kirtanananada is speaking god's words. He says rape is good, then rape some ladies. He says beating kids is good? Than beat then to death! He says abusing devotees is good, then if they end up in the hospital ... I shouldn't question. Nah, sorry. The entire book is basically saying: folks didn't question and we were in the midst of evil (or as one student said: it was a Nazi camp). I'll critique him all day long for being a scumbag and take it up with God when I die. And, if god says Kirtanananda is god's gift to the world and I'm wrong, well, I'll be re-incarnating again. Was planning on that happening as it was. I often say most of those who call themselves gurus are NOT really. Like 90% are not. I've found myself quietly having extreme doubts about the don't question the guru, all Hare Krishnas are right, go along blindly with whatever the unenlightened teacher says that is ingrained in Hinduism. While I do not think Prabhupada was a true saint, never wrong, perfect. (My only real problem with the book is Henry seems to have no understanding of women, thinking if they hear that a guy has a big dick they want to become wild animals and bang him. Nah. When really they were trapped in an abusive relationship and likely would be punished if they didn't have sex, has nothing to do with lust.)
