Man that's so awesome that's what I like to hear!!!!! I think it will keep on getting a little better too as that grease levels out in there. Solid! And man you GOT to do the steering fix, I'm telling you, best improvement I've made on my 4Runner. She feels fresh after that!
I really appreciate this video 100 times fold because I just lifted my 2001 2WD close to 3 inches with Bill Steins and 0ME and I didn’t know about this part specifically so yeah I got a hit those fittings you said about eight fittings thank you kindly my brother
Man that makes me super happy, glad it helped!!!! Remember since your's is 2wd you won't have to worry about the front driveshaft but absolutely hit the 5 zerks on the rear driveshaft. Good luck and enjoy your new lift!
Are you using the OME 883 Front coils and OME 891 Rear Coils? Or what’s your setup? I have a 2002 2wd and want a 3” lift kit but overwhelmed with all the kits and available.
Man thank you, that means a lot. I spend a lot of time on these videos. I have worked hard in the past through some frustrating issues on these vehicles and just hope to pass that information on to someone else. There are a lot of how to videos but sometimes the harder part is diagnosing the issue vs the actual work. Hope to help someone out who is dealing with the same frustrations.
I don't remember how the factort slip yoke is but when I replaced it with an aftermarket one, there is a relief built into the slip yoke so that even if you over grease it, it will come out when compressed.
Man, that sounds like a better design then. The factory one has no relief so if you overfill it with grease, its really unhappy. You have to manually release the grease through the zerc fitting or take it apart and re do it. Sounds like you have a better design.
Awesome video with lots of great information. Would you be interested and or able to give us newbies an even more basic Rundown of how to install a new coilover ?
Thanks so much for the comment, John. I'd be more than happy to do that sometime. I def. have some tips that will help you out! I go over it a bit in my part 1 3rd gen Lift troubles video but I might could do a video specifically covering what I ran into on the coil overs. Thanks again man.
Hahaha well, I can't disagree with you as far as complication goes compared to a solid front axle Jeep...but I still think the extra work is worth it to still be in a 4Runner. Right from the factory the Jeep is way more off road capable. Disconnect the sway bars on one of those and you've got tons of flex compared to an IFS setup. Other than that though, I'd always go 4Runner. They are both good choices though and I like them both! No hate here.
It doesnt get complicated, idk why this happened to this guy, but it's not the norm when u lift 4runners. Dont let that false fear keep you from buying and lifting one. I did to 2 4runners and no issues whatsoever, just go get a front end alignment after lifting it, and you're good to go.
Just lifted my 3rd gen 4x4 and now I’m having a high drone vibration literally starting right at 60 mph, it doesn’t change with acceleration and I put it in neutral and coasted still there, no vibration in steering wheel, discount tire balanced and rotated for free, still there. I greased joints not sure if I over greased but I push in the zerk and not really any grease out so I’m guessing good, anybody got the same issue with vibration??🫶🏼 truck drives perfect under 55😅
You def. should see grease seeping out of each spot to let you know you filled each area. Other than obviously, the slip joint. That's the one you want to watch for that littlest bit of shaft movement to let you know its got enough grease. If you haven' sorted this out yet, I'd take a look again at all those grease points and then my other thought is still tires. I know you have already gotten them balanced but driveline and tires are what my brain goes to when you say neutral makes no change. That leads me to something that's always continuously spinning. I don't feel like this helps much but I hope it does. Best of luck.
Going to try this tonight. I have a noticeable vibration at highway speeds after a 3" lift install, just as you described. How often should I be greasing the drive shaft on my 3rd gen?
How did it work for you, John?? I hope it helped. Once you get it all greased up I don't think you'd need to do it much more often than maybe every 15-20k or so.
@@TheChapMX It worked!!! Vibration went away after only a couple miles! It made our 200 mile roadtrip this past weekend way more comfortable. Thank you!
Hello how r you sir ....... sir I install these uper control arms where I bought these and any tips for purchase because our Pakistan these stuff are not here ...... where by these
Hello Arbab!! I would think that most companies would be able to ship internationally, but I cannot speak to that for certain. I would contact JBA directly and see what they can do. SPC is also a great company. If all of those fail I would check into Toyteclifts.com, 4wheeparts.com, even ebay. Just make sure its a reputable company that you order. Good luck and let me know if I can help any further.
I have 4runner 2006 shaking at 25 mph when accelerate slowly but with strong accelerate no shake at all. Do you know what might be the problem? Thanks indeed
Hey man, shake in the steering wheel or in the seats or what? That can help diagnose. I would start by looking at your u-joints. Give the driveshafts a strong shake and see if anything feels loose. Acceleration vibration would send me looking into anything driveline related. Hope that helps.
@@TheChapMX hi bro, thanks for the reply. I have done that, however, the shack is in the wheels I presume. But only when I drive 2H. When 4H it runs smoothly no longer shacking. I have changed the Axcel shoe on both sides. Would it be possible the mechanic has done some thing wrong. Because he disassemble tem completely. Just I went back to him but he said its been done correctly.
Heck yeah man that’s awesome! Thank you for putting that in the comments, that can absolutely be a problem as well. It can be a result of a lack of grease and if nothing else, most of our Runners have lots of miles so it IS a wearable item and can be just from age. Glad you got it sorted!
I've replaced my ujoints twice. When buying a new ujoint, be sure buy one with a zerk fitting (some are unserviced) and that the zerk fitting will be accessible after instal.
Haha, make sure you check out the shock video. I didn't title it as part three, but it is the third iteration. I have the next one in the works. Thanks for checking it out. And I love the duct tape wallet I made years back..she is still going strong
