Yeah, just a bit of talk, but also a few interesting clips and definitely a bit of learning, for me at least, try watch along.
Just a personal bit of chit chat, how the hell is it to drive some sort of professional world class high end sophisticated buggy on a carpet track. I'm even struggling to describe this in writing, watch the video, it's worse on camera.
So in the video I'll be saying quite a few times that it's an amazing machine, it's a rwd buggy, I have a Hobbywing 13.5 turn brushless system in it, it is geared with the 23 tooth pinion from the damned Slash, actually. All in all, it is very amazing.
In the video, I put a bit of music, it's again from White Bat Audio, the artist's name is Karl Casey and he is Canadian I think, check the song below if you want:

Good talk . The tracks look fantastic and great fun . Some nice buggies 😊👍

Thanks Dom! Yeah, it's really a special experience and even though this was in the casual end, it was very tense and quite unlike being alone and taking a car out for a short quick bash... Now trying out 8th scale on outdoor, it is really also something else, even more special, not sure I like everything about it, at least not the fact that my buggies are broken and it's expensive, ha ha!

Thanks Thunder! Yeah, I am very eager to get started on that outdoor track. It is open now, but so far been too busy to go lose my virginity to it...

Great stuff Mads. Boy that buggy can jump high and the shocks look like they have a perfect setup. Keep 'em coming buddy.

Hey Rob, thanks for checking the video! Yeah, the XB2 was actually built by someone else, and all I did was the body and stick some electronics in it, so I think I was pretty lucky it was set up right. I had the Neo Inferno out on the big track the other day and it was awful and it broke, but still got some high hopes, ha ha!

Great video, love hearing about how you are getting on and wow, that buggy soaks it up and must be a real pleasure to drive. Enjoyed the chat and the comedy ;) |Got to learn through doing, I am the same. Thanks for the fun video.👍

Thanks Damian, happy you liked it! Yeah, I can't help sneaking in the stupid bits also in my videos. I don't want them to be too predictable. It's weird, with XB2C, I sort of remember driving it, but I was so tense that most of my memory of it is gone. So I am happy I got the footage, it sort of helped me remember. Looking forward to the dirt track, it is open 24/7, so hopefully should have some more time to get familiar with it.

Hi Mads! Great listening to you chat about your experiences! But I think you are being very hard on yourself! I also rarely have the talent to match the performance of my cars! 🤣🤣 It looked like you were doing a good job to me, the XRAY looked awesome out there on the track - the way it took the big jump - wow! And we saw it 3 times! The swearing made me snigger, too! Ah well, the carpet track is gone but the outdoor track looks even more fun, especially with the 1/8 Kyosho. What the hell happened to the Slash, indeed! Take care and enjoy the summer season, mate!

Thanks Mark! I try to describe my experience as well as I can, but as I review the footage, all I do is say the car is good (and I am bad, ha ha), I need to figure out how to remember to say what I want to say. I'll keep practising, ha ha! The XRAY is amazing! I only drove it that once, so with it being so tense, I didn't really register any details about what made it so good, so in that sense I was happy to have the video footage. And I learned to keep my mouth shut while driving, ha ha! I am sooo much looking forward to getting a crack at that outdoor track, it is actually opened and ready now, but I have a bit too much going on right now, hopefully soon. Heh, the damned Slash...

Interesting video Mads! Those modern buggies have come a long way since I used to race back in the late eighties /early nineties..... they really do jump/land so well now! Don't think I could do it anymore, especially with the modern speeds of brushless etc..... my hand/eye coordination/reactions are just too slow now! 😂 🤣 Great to see you out there and having fun mate. 👍 👍 👍 👍

Thanks Yoda, I totally follow you! I didn't get to try racing as a child, so now it's a new experience to me, and I also on purpose avoided using the word "racing" to describe what I am doing here, it just wouldn't be true, ha ha! Yeah, my motoric skills also aren't quite there and probably can't be trained much, I will turn 50 next year, so it'll probably just degrade even more, ha ha. So I am both excited and intimidated to have a go at that big dirt track, I can only imagine the amount of times I need to run down the stairs and retrieve my flipped over buggy, but hey, that's valuable exercise, ha ha!

I've never raced on carpet....looks fun but challenging!
@madsrcbuggy
@madsrcbuggy Год назад
Neither have I... I can't really call it racing... Just driving around on a track, challenging enough for me, ha ha! Yeah, it wants to traction roll if I'm not careful, so it's an extra challenge, actually quite fun when I got a bit used to it... And the jumps were a whole new experience, I loved them! Thanks for watching, buddy!

Thanks for checking the video and commenting! Yeah, the XRAY is packed away now and I'm having a go at 8th scale, I broke the Inferno Neo and I'm still waiting for a few parts for the MP10. I got the whole summer ahead of me, looking forward to explore a lot more!

Thanks man! I appreciate you checked my video and subbed, you know I enjoy watching your stuff! Yeah, the track is now closed, but I'm hoping next winter we'll be back on track, heh... But now it's all outdoor, it's great!

Thanks, friendly Swede! Is your name Peter? I think I saw someone call you Peter in one of the comments... Yeah, I do recommend trying something like this, it's a completely different game than an open parking lot, it's very tense, but somehow very stimulating. I've seen in videos recently, the Dirtmaster is great on a track. Looking forward to seeing yours in action soon!

Good talk and footage, Mads! Yeah, sounds like you got addicted. Too stressful for me I think unless it’s a wide big non-technical track, I think. Uhh, I bet the TRF buggies will feel good on that track too - if those buggy lines where still updated/produced. Even my DB-02 feels incredible I think. Uhh, and wow! An MP10!!! So incredible. Looking forward seeing your track-journey continue with that one. Thanks for the video my friend. Btw: so how do you usually communicate with the native Finns? Danish/Swedish? English? Finnish?
@madsrcbuggy
@madsrcbuggy Год назад
Thanks Mikael! Yeah, stressful is completely what's like, but still incredibly appealing, very hard to describe... The TRF are great! I had the 201 on the track but it was just too fragile. I would love for Tamiya to get back "on track" with those, and I think it is plausible. We saw in Japan how popular the G-Force Genova is, and now also the Kyosho Dirtmaster, so I think Tamiya has to do a TRF basic model! The technology exists for it, and the sales would be great on this, all the enthusiasts and collectors would snatch it up right away, ha ha! Yeah, I really can't wait to get started with the MP10, I have everything for it, just not found the time yet, the usual issue... I try in Finnish here, but now at the track, they know I'm a foreigner, so we mostly speak English. And in the clip, I was talking to another foreigner, so that was obvious... And I could only imagine trying to speak Finnish and drive around a track at the same time, recipe for disaster! I speak English with my wife at home, and I work for a Danish company, so it's English or Danish. I try to speak Finnish sometimes, but it's pretty primitive...

2wd racecars take a bit to get use to. I've only ever driven mine on dirt and it quite a different approach to the 4wds. But I'm really enjoying mine now. On dirt I've got my slipper quite tight Cool video Mads 😂😊😊 The outdoor track looks fantastic. You are in for so much fun with your 8th scale buggy Wahoo can't wait for the footage.
@madsrcbuggy
@madsrcbuggy Год назад
Hey Shayne, thanks mate! To be honest, I haven't yet "felt" the difference from 4wd to 2wd. I think maybe it's because I always had both and I switch between them all the time. Would be cool to actually think about and see if I can "map" the experience, maybe a topic for a video someday... I didn't actually really get to enjoy my XB2 yet. It was just so tense that one time. But at least I got the video footage, helped me remember, and I sort of tried to describe what I think it felt like... With the big track and big buggies, it's open 24/7, so hopefully it means I have more opportunity to become familiar with it and not only learn more stuff, but also remember it better. And once I get over the initial learning, I'm pretty sure I'll start to have fun, too!
@TheflyingkiwiRC

@@madsrcbuggy my only 2wd is my 1/10 race buggy all my bashers are 4wd. There must be so much grip on a carpet surface, something I have no idea about. 😅

I would love to try a carpet track but I am quite sure i would be a chaotic mess out there running into everything. I suck driving under stress, I start sawing the wheel back and forth too much and forgetting to be light on the throttle and it just keeps getting worse! Often the last laps I run on my track are towards the beginning of the run as I am a lot more cautious and careful. Then I get more comfortable and make a mistake and try to avoid making that mistake again which leads to me screwing up something else and next thing you know I am smacking into the pipes all over the track! LOL!
@madsrcbuggy
@madsrcbuggy Год назад
Thanks Addam! Yeah, it is really stressful to drive around a track like that, and for some reason I still like it a lot, hard to describe. It's funny, I just watched your 3s Typhon video again the other day, and I could recognise what you described here. I was expecting it to be fast on your track, but I guess also it was too big and powerful. I'm sure after a few runs it gets better. That's what I am hoping with the dirt track and 8th scale experience. You learn something while being there, but going away and coming back really works wonders! That time to think a bit and come back and remember, it is very valuable. I taught myself how to juggle a few years ago, just from RU-vid tutorials, and one of them described this improvement while not actually doing the exercise. But anyway... Most of my RC'ing will still be just driving around on the road or in the back yard, more casual and fun!

@@madsrcbuggy I can completely understand the draw to racing. I just know in tense situation I am going to start overthinking and distracting myself by doing so and really have issues. I am sure with practice and doing it often I would get over it!
