Participants enjoy ‘Cultural Evening’ at Nishtar Hall
A large number of participants enjoyed the ‘Cultural Evening’ held at the Nishtar Hall, the lone theatre in the city, on Tuesday.
Jointly organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), Abasin Arts Council and Pak Army, the event was also attended by Advisor to Chief Minister on Culture and Tourism, Zahid Chanzeb, Corps Commander Peshawar, Lt-Gen Hassan Azhar Hayat, KP Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Culture and Tourism Secretary, Bakhtiar Khan, KPCTA Director General Barkatullah Marwat, prominent social figures and general public.
Poets of Pashto, Hindko and Urdu, including Ihsanuddin and Shahida Shaheen, Nasir Ali Syed and Bushra Farrukh presented their verses and received thunderous applause from the audience at the Cultural Evening.
Famous comedian Said Rahman, popularly known as Shino Mama, and his team presented comedy sketches comprising a series of short, amusing scenes and vignettes, which mesmerized the audience.
Similarly, the audience praised the artistes and musicians, including Gulab Afridi, Ijaz Sarhadi, Mas Khan, Asif Hussain Zainullah Khan, Shaukat Paniyal, for performing melodious music on their instruments, including rubab, Chitrali sittar, and sarinda/clarinet.
