I have your Continuum 2022 OFX and I'm trying to "Mocha" particles onto some background video - while following a YT video (for Vegas), he sets the Transforms to "World" and then opens the Mocha motion tracker and sees his background. When I do the same in Davinci, I'm not seeing background video? What do I need to do? Edit: I've placed the Particle Illusion "track" above my video track - I can't add the BCC Particle Illusion as an effect onto the video track. RESOLVED: Okay originally I had added PI as a _GENERATOR_ - removing that track, and adding PI as a _FILTER_ to the existing video track now allows me to see the trackers and video as the background.

Just saw it. You can do this type of effect, but it will be a lot easier with the plugin version. You will want to motion track the camera (World) and then animate your particle with that done. This will give you the most realistic look for this effect. There are also a ton of sparkles and magic presets that will give you the look you want!
does the "Particle Illusion Particle Emitters" option cost money. i downloaded that one and "Particle Illusion standalone", but i'm scared of opening the"Particle Illusion Particle Emitters" version bc i can't pay
Nope. They are also free. The only time you pay for Particle Illusion is if you want to run it as a plugin inside of another program. The standalone and the thousands of emitter presets are free.
Yes, if you have the premium version of Particle Illusion, you can apply it as a Generator, or as a OFX filter to footage and compound clips in the Edit page. It won't work in the Fusion page at the moment.
I have the standalone Particle illusion program and want to know if you can render/export the mp4 video effects as a transparency. I only see a dark background everytime I render / export them. If there is no transparency available to use the video effect in projects then the program is essentially useless to me.
@@BorisFXco Thanks. It worked with the 'ProRes4444 + premultiplied Alpha' selection and the 'ProRes4444 Straight Alpha' selection. By the way, what are the differences between the two ? quality difference ? Also, it seems the render allows only a maximum of 300 frames (10 seconds). I assume you have to buy a pro version to extend this restricted maximum amount ? Last question: Where do I download the plugin version of this program and can it work with the 'Hitfilm Express' video editing program ?
The only difference between premultiplied and straight alpha is how the edge colors are going to be processed. You'll need to make sure this matches what your editing program is expecting. The project length is set in Project Settings, it just defaults to 300. If you want to try out the pro version, then look at the trial of Continuum for OFX : bit.ly/30GkwJY But unless they've changed something recently, I don't think you can install third-party OFX plugins into Hitfilm Express. You need Hitfilm Pro for that.
