Ironman is less about “standing alone” and more about not trading others, in my opinion. Would definitely like to see irons be able to pair up, with other irons at least

As iron you still do your own kills and get slayer points according to input. I don't see how this is different from wildy mass bosses and raids. This is not a restriction ironman mode is about
I maxed a main and now play iron. The main thing I love about iron is that it takes away the thought process of everything is gp/hr. I do all skills in discord with my mates, Pyramid Plunder together, tempoross, wintertodt, artefact thieving, GOTR, and much more. We do a similar activity and vibe. It's crazy they are gatekeeping slayer, god forbid we each go whip some hellhounds and vibe on disc. These smoothbrains in the comments don't understand it doesn't change iron drop mechanics. If someone else damaged Kree, the iron won't get a drop at all. It doesn't open anything up and it limits the benefit of partner slayer, not a perk. Let the Irons have friends too! Just because we have to earn item's ourselves doesn't mean we have to be antisocial.
The ironman mindset of not wanting to grind out certain items/supplies and not wanting to “stand alone” is the exact sort of thinking that is giving you irons a bad look…
New update: Ironman get a seperate boat in pest control, to fight the pest on their own. Ironmen need to play every role at once in barbarian assault. As soon as an ironman joins a team in castle wars, no one else can join that team.
Honestly suprised about your criticism of standing alone. Ironman has been extremely devalued, that's why I stopped playing and when back to my other accounts. To say that the game is not about integrity anymore so we should disregard the core idea of the game mode because of that is crazy. It will only make things worse! The point of the game mode is to be self sufficient and self made. Personally I am neutral about group slayer for irons. I really don't see why they shouldn't be able to. However I am sure that there will be a HUGE potential for boosting and such like that, and that's what I dont want to see more of introduced into ironman. Just suprised about your criticism of the main thing the gamemode is supposed to be about. And if it isn't about that then what is it about?
I don’t understand why we care if high scores competitors are alt-boosting slayer? They’re ALL already alt-scaling for dancers and such. Letting us have the old system seems more than reasonable in a game with 200m all front page highscores.
Not sure how kill credit works but if exp is dmg delt and drops are awarded to player who last hits I could see it being problematic on an iron. Their is a double standard with raids soo idk.
just putting the system back in with the abuse cases fixed is fine unpolled imo. if they want to include irons then poll that part imo. id vote yes for it, but thats not something that should be part of what is essentially an integrity patch to fix an exploit.
It's a real bummer if Ironmen are not allowed to do this. Me and my friend used to love partner slayer back in the day but we're both iromen now. I don't see a reason why they wouldn't let us participate because it's not like this is going to really affect the "grind your own items and skills" aspect of ironman since you still have to pull your own weight in slayer.
what about partner skilling. one guy fishing other guy cooking that. and both get some of the xp. or a smithing alcing combo or a woodcutting fire making or fleching. let us just come up with combo's
Just de-iron your main if playing with others will make you more happy; stop trying to ruin the game mode for actual ironmen who genuinely enjoy the challenge of playing alone and being self sufficient outside of team raids
If you just type in someones ign and they receive this massive popup on their screen. Wont this be abused with bots spamming someone invites when theyre in the wildy or just anywhere to get something out of said person? Imagine youre in the wildy fighting and this shit starts popping up.
4:15, maybe little bias, I have been playing Ironman since it launched. But I agree with this take, also what kind of items do you get from Slayer monsters, fuck all. Especially if you compare it to raids.
@@VeNoMz_ that's my point. Partner slayer would suck as a regular iron for any boss/burst tasks. Its only real use would be to speed up single combat tasks.
When ironman first came out, fishing trawler was unable to be played by ironman accounts. this was rightfully considered silly and was changed... because it can be solo'd, and because its just fishing trawler... its not like anything gamebreaking can come out of that when played normally. partner slayer sounds like it should be treated similarly.
Partner slayer got shelved because people abused it to get an almost literal 100% smoke devil task rate. I'm skeptical about even these current measures being enough to ensure that doesn't happen again (both need to be able to do it, at least 10 tasks). I'm prickly about this because Ironmen should never, ever have been considered in the making of updates and it would do well for "game integrity" if ironmen couldn't boost their slayer tasks with a maxed main.
Are you on the cinnamon? This guy has a 3rd age set on a well past maxed ironman that's geared to the teeth and you think he regrets being iron when he just started a new group hardcore account? You can't be serious about partner slayer being the whole game mode. At least start at the beginning of the slippery slope so people don't think you've lost the plot for saying "whole game mode" in response to a video about ONE aspect of ONE skill....

Because, what I've heard Sae say is that limiting fun for the sake of integrity is a lost cause and a missed opportunity to explore more social gameplay loops for ironmen. He's not asking for grey helms to be able to 2v1 boss tasks while getting loot. From my perspective it seems like he just wants irons to be able to use each other as glorified expeditious bracelets. And that he's fine with it if the community finds even that excessive. Meanwhile at the chambers of xeric, ironmen are paying for cox purples with money from their main. That is literally main mode vibes, but here we are talking about this on a video about partner slayer, really? No wonder Sae says not to bother trying to preserve the integrity of the game. People will see nuances of main mode for irons and freak out about irons being able to use each other like enchanted opal bracelets and totally ignoring the huge chambers shaped purple elephant in the room!
You can ''play'' the game as main just as much as you can as iron, lmao. It's so funny to me people take this elitist viewpoint when they have an iron where main is all just bought accomplishments and ''nothing matters''. Hope people are aware that with money you can buy maxed iron account and the money argument flies right out of the window. It's a matter of will not account type. Iron just gets you that icon and restricts your trade.

Preach. This is why I play a main with an Ironman flair when I feel like it. I don't give a shit about the icon or what others think. The self imposed challenge is all I need to get the same dopamine hits and pride of accomplishments. I'm also free to sell things and play whichever way I want depending on the mood.
@@LymonSpice Trading is very core part of any proper MMO game, imo. it has felt pretty bad due to bots but atm stuff like thieving (blood shards, elves) & zulrah+vork seem pretty good. Makes me think jmods busted some bots. I had a GIM that I played up to 2100 total. Was enough iron for me. It was fun up till that and started to get tedious so I opted out of it. I still find it so weird when some of my main iron friends make fun of me for being main or ask me constantly how I feel now lmao Vastaa
Jagex has no coherent design philosophy when it comes to what Iron men are allowed and not allowed to do with other players. How exactly does partner slayer betray the spirit of the ironman game mode?
Dumb commenters think ironmen are playing a completely separate single player osrs with entity hider on 24/7. Doing a task with your iron buddy does not give them a notable benefit
They can’t give partner slayer because certain task would allow irons to group boss. An aviancie task would allow you to group on arma. Greater demons for kril. Just too much broken here for them to chance that
How'd you end up at that conclusion? The devs didn't say that slayer partner would change the loot mechanics of monsters. Even if two non-group ironmen could end up in the same instance they would just null the loot for each other. But yeah hopping worlds to avoid paying the instance fee doesn't prove your point. The private paid instance is different from the shared but solo/single group only iron instance. Like, the fact that you hopped because you didn't want to pay the fee implies you didn't have the option to go into the free instance and had to hop or pay for the private one, which is what Daniel is saying
@@TUCK2SHARPYou’re absolutely 100% incorrect. Ironmans have their own instances, meaning they’re shared with other Ironman. This change was solely to combat mains crashing Ironman, and instantly teleporting so the iron did not receive loot. Haven’t you ever noticed the brazier outside of each boss room, indicating you if an Ironman is in the instance or not since you can’t see them? The paid instance fee is entirely separate and is an award from combat diaries I’ll link the update for you if you still don’t believe lol.
Me and my irl best friend are ironman and I would love to do group slayer with him. I want it so badly. What does it take away from ironman? Plus they could at least make it so only ironman can group with ironman for it? Like wtf.
