❤ RIP😇 Love you David. Like your tattoo said “ So much wasted time!” So talented!” Such a shame! I listen to your tunes so frequently! You’re an icon and will never be forgotten, ever! I know you can’t see this, but, everyone should know how gifted you were! And the love you had for your mom and your dad! You’ll always be in my 💜 ❤😢
As a kid you had a choice, the Partridge Family or the Brady Bunch. The cool kids always liked the Partridge Family. Also as a young boy it was about Susan Dey..lol The Girls of course, David and his Puka shells necklace..ha ha
David got lucky having Shirley as his step mother. She is a wonderful woman Glad to know they stayed close Rip David. You all were a memorable part of my childhood 😘🤗 thank you so much 💋💖
Th Partridge Family had something that has been long forgotten in this world: Something precious, but maybe hard to define: Something overlooked: Something fundamental, yet largely ignored in our quest for short-term self-gratification and ego-based validation: ....Wholesomeness. RIP David.
Love this! So sad David passed away so young, RIP David. I am a little younger than Danny and he was the one I had a crush on so sorry David! But I know he didn't like all the attention anyway, so he might have not been too disappointed. I still watch reruns of the show now and it always makes me happy!
Seen a video of her from My 3 Sons and Partridge Family Reunion but to say it was piss poor would be the understatement of all time.....as it was very hard to see....more shadows then anything else.
Cheryl Keil many years ago they had a rumor she died when she was on the show. It was when they had these toys like balls that cracked together and a few kids did dye when it hit there temple, but she was still living.
If you were born in the Sixties & You grew up in the 70s then you fell in love with the Partridge family & the Cassidy brothers along with Leif Garrett^The Nostalgia is overwhelming just remembering Happy Days & Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys Mysteries^Parker Stevenson Included^What a powerful draw the Seventies had on Me growing up in North Louisiana^And the Wonderfully beautiful Ms. Shirley Jones was so Level headed & Calm^Nothing can replace shows like The Walton's & Barretta & Those wonderful Tuesday Nights that Barnaby Jones & Frank Cannon came On in the Summertime^Enjoying the Evening Sunsetting as the Lightning Bugs started to Appear^What a Time^
AAAH I LOVE DAVID!! This is bringing TEARS!!! HE HAD BEEN THRU. A LOT TRYING TO EARN HIS FATHER'S LOVE. I HOPE HE did FIND his WAY to a place of HEALING!! He Still looks like a sweet guy!! We grew up with these wonderful shows, it's so good to see the guys every now & then. THANKS ARSENIO!! & THANK YOU for POSTING!!!! PEACE!!
If you listen to what he is saying, he's telling everyone that wants to know the pressure he was under. Met him in Manchester England when he was clear of drugs and drink. What a really nice guys and not the " I'm a star" at all.
I hate to hear him tear down his work on the Partridge Family. It was a great show, and he played "Keith" perfectly! I always saw him as David Cassidy, and I still fell in love with him at the tender age of 10, ahhh... and it has never faded!!
The problem was that David Cassidy wanted to do unconventional original experimemtal music and he had pop songs and Keith a character much younger than himself. Despite the money and cheering, he was not living his dream. Being a real musical artist, it irked him to be seen as a younger fake musician.
I will always love David Cassidy. Especially in his younger days as it brings back awesome memories & how much in love I was with him as many girls were. I saw him in concert for the first time @ The Reo Casino in Las Vegas with Sheena Easton in 2000. It was awesome. I watch the Partridge Family every Saturday on Antenna T.V. & absolutely love watching him on The Partridge Family. I thought he acted & sang & looked hotter during the The Partridge Family days. David looked taller on the The Partridge Family. I don't like reading comments online how David Cassidy is so into himself as he did not apply for the teen idol role that was dumped on him. David Cassidy will always bring back awesome memories for me. I was between 10 to14 years old when David was a big hit. But I do have two disappointments about David Cassidy. One of the things that disappoints me is when David walked away @ the top & I felt like he left his fans hanging. I know he left me hanging & wondering as to whatever happened to David Cassidy. The other thing that disappoints me about David is how he has changed the Patridge Family music. David has changed it to suit himself as David & I do not see eye to eye on music. Why fix/change something when the original made him who he is today. Create new music but please don't botch up the original music that made him who he is today. Recently I was in my doctors office waiting room & they had piped in music & a Partridge Family song came on. It was great. A # 1 fan, Janice from Minneapolis, Mn.
janice jones He likely looked taller because he was the oldest, I didn't think he looked tall because he seemed to not be much taller than Shirley Jones (and she's not tall.)
***** David Cassidy's torso & legs look longer than they are now as I know he is short like 5'6 or 5'5. Not only did I watch the PF @ from the ages 10 to 14 but I watch it now on Antenna T.V. from Minneapolis, MN. & even now David's legs & torso looks longer than they are now.
Well you have to realize that no serious performer likes being typecast. You are probably too young to remember the 1970s song Garden Party .It was written by an musician who became known for certain songs he wrote while he was just a young adult but he wanted to present more mature , more updated material that expressed his real talents , not just sing old songs for the memories of aging teenyboppers, but when he tried to sing the new songs to an audience at New York City's Madison Square Garden, he was booed off the stage by people who only wanted him to stay in the past musically and not move on, and only be the stuff of what memories are made of. Cassidy is not the first or only person this has happened to. I don't know if he has an ego problem. I do think he is justified in wanting to have left The Partridge Family behind (for the most part) and going on to make it as a serious actor like his dad, also a serious musician and songwriter writer. He has reportedly said that he did not want to live his life as a teen idol. I can feel dad for him that he could never leave that image in the past
I've seen all of Danny's videos etc, even the nastiest ones. I can see that deep down he's a sweet, sensitive and generous soul. I believe that drugs (including steroids) have distorted his true nature. I think he was being very sensitive to David Cassidy. and that he was aware of the insecurities that Cassidy had regarding his image. Cassidy admitted years later that he had resentment and insecurity regarding how he wasn't taken seriously as a musician. You can see it clearly on this show
LOL. That was funny at the end. The Partridge family one my favorite shows when I was a kid in the '70's. My favorite song from that was "I THINK I LOVE YOU ". There was so many good shows back then. RIP David.

This is why I loved Arsenio Hall's show. David Cassidy kept me from a life of crime as a professional star stalker -- In the 7th grade I wrote him my first (and last) fan letter, to which he never responded, sending me straight into the waiting arms of Lady Justice and the law for nearly three decades. However, fast forward to the 1990's road tour of Blood Brothers, which was the opening night -- a Thursday -- and no one wanted to go, so my mom babysat and I got perfect third row center, in a theatre here which has perfect audio through its design, the same as Carnegie Hall. In front of me, taking up the entire 2nd row center, were this wonderful group of gay men. David's first appearance on stage was when he was five years old, and he walked out in these teeny red shorts -- and those guys audibly about had a heart attack (me, too, in secret). However, in five minutes I forgot he was David Cassidy and was fully immersed in the story. Petula Clark played the mother. The entire cast and crew were incredible -- the theatre was not filled, but they performed as though they were on Broadway SRO -- Shaun was not in the road show -- they received several standing ovations -- and everyone in the theatre clapped and cheered and cheered at the end -- including the ushers -- they did several curtain calls, because we would not let them leave -- David brushed quick tears out of his eyes -- which made us cheer even more, because he knew we were not cheering for Teen Idol David Cassidy, we were applauding the entire cast and crew for what has remained the best live theatre I've ever seen. It wasn't until after his passing that I learned what a difficult life he had led -- and also -- how really intelligent he was. I pray he has rest on the other side.
DAvid wasnt arrogant or acting above all, he was plainly drinking very heavily here. We all know he has said he has had a drinking problem, sooo here is proof I would say. Poor guy, I pray to God he gets help and finds his way back to healing.
Miss and love David... He LOOK'S exactly like, his father, Jack Cassidy....Danny Bonaduce is so great!!!! Loved watching the Partridge Family, in fact, I still watch it!!! 🥀🥀🥀🥀.. 2022......
My sister was 10 & I was 12 in 1970. We bickered back and forth Friday nights to watch "The Name of the Game"(my show) or "The Partridge Family"(her show) UNTIL Dad bought her a TV set(It was a Panasonic19" Black & White set)& I will always hold David Cassidy & the Partridge family in the highest regards. Final thought, one day, each of us will exit this "mortal coil"("Mortal coil" is a poetic term that means "the troubles of daily life and the strife and suffering of the world". It is used in the sense of a burden to be carried or abandoned, such as in the phrase "shuffle[d] off this mortal coil" from the "To be, or not to be" soliloquy in Shakespeare's Hamlet- about a crazy, Danish king.Written in 1602). We may not know when or where that will happen but that won't stop it from happening. Take a moment to appreciate the life you're living. Hopefully, David Cassidy took a chance to do the same before passing away. Always remember how much David Cassidy was loved. Forever Remembered in my wondrous "groovy" childhood, Forever Missed by family, friends, acquaintances, fans, me, my sister, etc. P.S. Thanks for the second TV set! :^[]
The Partridge Family was a great show and the music was top flight. David Cassidy was a talented singer.supposely his last words were "so much wasted time". The Ron Hicklin singers also deserve just as much credit as David for making the sings a hit. They were the best session singers in the bussiness.
David's heart was broken for the lack of love from his father to his very last days..Very sad and tragic. Dave Madden as Ruben was a 2nd well 1stfather to Danny. In fact the cast had Danny's father banned from the set. He was cruel beyond words..
@@thesussexbunion Danny Bonaduce, he was Danny on the show as the red headed brother who "played" bass. But also in real life David cared for him and even saved him a few times They were very close in real life
So funny.. I have a Double Link here. When I was a kid me and my best friend went to see Shirley Jones who was rehearsing a show. We went with my best friends mom who was covering the advertising. About a few years later, in high school, I was in drama and was part of a group that worked for a charity organization doing Mimes and serving at celebrity parties. Richard Pryor was there at the Beverly Hills Hotel taking pictures with other celebrities for the event. Robin Williams was there along with other big celebrities of the day. A few of us even met a genuine Countess who was dripping in diamonds and very friendly to us. It was a Sally Struthers event and we did a few of them.. Good times..
It really was. He had some good bands that performed there too. The _'Divinyls'_ were on there right after I got out of the army. That's when I discovered the show.
Arsenio Hall was to talk shows what Colonel Sanders was to fried chicken...I always liked The Partridge Family...The concept was original and the cast was great...David and Danny are both very confident and have the gift of the gab...Shirley has aged wonderfully...She's a stunningly beautiful woman, and very sweet...Danny has a great sense of humour...He cracked Shirley up many times during this interview...It seems Shirley likes funny guys, because she married Marty Ingels, a comedian...
I agree. I can separate Keith from David. Its too bad that David didn't. I think he became a workaholic and it was his first addiction. I don;t mean this to be critical, just a reality. I see many of his interviews, and his attitude belie his looks. Its almost like he was the only child who had to prove himself and to get love. The alcoholism created the blame game.
David could but the media could not and some fans would accept him as anything but Keith David was not an ego maniac he was just ttrying to be who he really was
The sad part is that while he experienced phenomenal success and fame doing something that was not representative of whom he was as an artist (Keith Partridge), he was never able to duplicate that level of success again as an artist being himself later on. This must have been truly tearing him apart.
@@Swakara1 DC was quite young and started making all that money relatively fast -- mostly from record and concert ticket sales, although _The Partridge Family_ certainly helped that too - that he wound up feeling exactly the way his father felt - like he had sold out. He wasn’t doing the kind of music he wanted to do, he wasn’t acting in the roles he wanted to act in, and he decided to give it up for a while and then start over again in the mid-1980s.
This is one of the reasons why I loved the Arsenio Hall Show. He took Risks like at 14:37. It also would get him in hot water with the Network. I really wish he hadn't gone on a close to 2 decades hiatus from Talk Show. Once he returned, the market was so Saturated and the Network didn't know which direction to take the New show. There was a clash behind the scenes with Exec producers, Folks quit and the show wasn't continued. We really miss him on Late Night Talk TV over the years.
