This just screams animatronic horror. The way Freddy struggles to open the door, the emotionless expression, the repeating of a voice box, etc. Everything in this concept is great.
In the beginning, when he almost falls into the room trying to push open the door, when he looks at the door, you can almost see him thinking: oh wait, this isn’t open enough. The nudge with his hand to fully open the door is actually a very human detail, and puts more life and character into him.
Didn't Scott said something about "Passing the torch" of this franchise to other people? If that's the case then this person deserves to be one of those
Not to worry. Search up Fnaf Plus: a remake of the first fnaf game with its own twist. a project that’s being supported by Scott himself. Incredibly well made teasers on the fnaf plus channel too. The designs are a great retake on the first game’s.
@@justaname599 lol same bruh. My lil sibling (he's four but has the height of a 1st grader lol) does it all the time and it spooks sometimes bc he comes quietly lol
I love the way Freddy asks his questions. He seems so innocent and curious; it’s like you can hear a child asking the exact same questions in the exact same way. The child’s spirit that possesses Freddy is so present in this tape. There’s some really great detail in these videos!
This is really terrifying. But if you look at it differently, it’s kinda sad. I like to think this is when the first five kids were killed and recently given ‘life’, they are unaware of what they are, and still think they look like any normal child. The kid possessing Freddy is genuinely wondering why someone is hiding from him, hence the “whatcha doin?” and “why are you hiding?” Perhaps the child in foxy is hiding because he hasn’t seen himself and is scared too or maybe he thinks he’s playing too.
God, this may be one of the first vhs tape/recording that legitimately scared the shit out of me. The fact Freddy sounds like a kid, and the fact that it's just a repeat, and his tone never changes until the "Why are you hiding?" line. It sent shivers up my spine. Like a kid who's body is way too heavy for them to control. The way he slumps against the door, and hesitates before pushing it open with the back of his hand gives him so much life, yet seems to drain it out of him at the same time. The design is so life-like and cutesy, yet also terrifying in some way, like how you've come to love famous mascots, but wouldn't want to come too close. He sounds genuinely concerned, but seeing this huge, heavy, suit of metal clunk it's way towards you gives you the impression he isn't quite showing the truth to you. Genuinely, this scared me. And it's broad daylight. Props to you.
100% agree, this is the only vhs tape kinda vid i can remember where it actually scared me without even jumpscares, seeing him peeking thru the door and the “watcha doin” genuinely gave me chills
Something about the way Freddy acts makes me feel both worried and comfortable at the same time. It's like he's genuinely curious why someone would be hiding from him.
Thing about Scott is that as a single creator i assume these things would be far too difficult to animate,, now Steelwool on the other hard i think COULD actually make them THIS creepy because there was footage of the characters in security breach having clear movement
no, scott goes for the subtle design. at first glance, they're normal looking. but when they're "active" or in the shadows, is when they truly become terrifying. i'm annoyed by these obvious creepy designs.
The way Freddy asked his questions is kinda wholesome. He asks them like a child I would know. Always wanting to know everything and seeing what you’re doing and being curious. I don’t know if Foxy/Fritz killed the person who was recording but I had a feeling Freddy didn’t want Foxy to do whatever he was gonna do.
The reason I absolutely love how the animatronics are built, is because they’re more realistic, and I feel that it’s what I would imagine in the 70s-80s. It’s way more creepy because their movements are more robotic and less animated, as if it were human. Which is more creepy. And I just love that!
Dangerous boi actually..by the farthest I know he attacks adults mainly..for children it’s only sometimes, they are all dangerous so that person is lucky to have all of them not there having a little cambia with that persons dead body in a fire...or turned into pizza....If you know what I mean
He sounded like it was a child stuck in a room, and he wanted to help him. Freddy was being really innocent, i felt like he was trying to help the child. And when he looked around in the room I'm guessing he thought a parent was their.
To make it less scary, I like to imagine we're playing hide-and-seek with Foxy, and Freddy walking in loudly asking us what we're doing hiding under the table is what caused Foxy to find us. Thanks Freddy, you made me lose!
I love the line “Why are you hiding?” Because it matches when in Security Breach when Roxy lost her eyes she was asking that question, it’s like the animatronics think they can truly help a child when the child actually is terrified of them.
Freddy seems pretty friendly to me here, my first vibe from him wasn’t immediate danger. He asks why I’m hiding as if he’s concerned, or confused; maybe he just wants to give us all a big hug I can’t say the same for foxy
@@bigzeke7431 I love the FNAF art style. But it doesn’t really look like any actual animatronics. Especially in the later games. But making it look so close to the real deal makes it so scary.
@@turntechgodhead1268 Yeah. Though I will say this. When Chuck E Cheese went with that mask style, they were using different mechs underneath. It's still an interesting nod to the OG real life animatronics though. FNAF has actually made me love real life animatronics even more than I did when I was a kid.
@@bigzeke7431 it's clear the face designs are based off the rock afire explosion, infact the mechanism on the side had a rock afire head. And just to reassure people no the rock afire cant walk or kill
The way that Freddy steps into the room and just asks what the person is doing and doesn’t attack them is sort of scarier than if Freddy just jumped at the camera
ok my question is , we’re possibly a kid so why in the hell are we in the back room , is there no supervision? why is foxy disobeying the 6 feet apart rule? i don’t need sleep i need answers
I love this! But that Endo sitting down in the dark corner with a "bruh" face is killing me. He reminds me of every teenage cousin who is stuck babysitting the younglings during parties, and tries to hide from them. XD
something about Freddys voice tells me that Gabriel's spirit is still there. he still cares, and he's a loving young person suffering inside a metal hell. im so happy him and the rest of the trapped spirits are free now.
The way Freddy almost falls into the room really serves to convey an angry child's spirit trapped within a clunky suit of fur, plastic and metal without any control.
i don't think he's angry, he's curious and wants to know why this man or child is hiding, it truly shows a scared and confused child trying to communicate
The fact that everyone is talking about how much scarier this is proves that Battington, Squimpus McGrimpus, and Archive 1993 (and anyone else making their own horrifying FNAF VHS tapes) are rekindling and restoring the horror that FNAF has lost over time.
i don't comment very often but this is just amazing. one thing i noticed that put me on edge is that it actually feels like its looking at *you* like its sentient in a way it really shouldn't be. from the smallest of details to the largest its flawless! thanks for working hard to give us these super detailed and creepy videos!
One of the things that battington does so well is making the animatronics, FEEL like animatronics, the fact that they have limited voice lines is just 🤌 The way Freddy just repeats “Whatcha doin?” In such a normal, non-threatening voice Just sells it for me
This is eerie. Its almost like it can sense your fear when it asks "Why are you hiding?" Also love the little detail of it looking at the door to push it open a little more, like it's programmed to open the door and it has to do it slowly and unhuman-like, before the head turns back to the camera person.
I love it also because its how real bears break into houses they push open the doors and sit there for a sec before entering🤣🤣🤣 look up bear breaks into home
this one genuniely seems so wholesome rather than scary. he seems so sweet. even the foxy jumpscare was just next to us, not like looking scary or lunging. i love it so so sooooo much
I’d like to imagine that these are the actual kids talking and trying to get help, but end up scaring and accidentally killing people they talk to. Or think they’re killling the purple guy (or something afton. I don’t remember his name)
I totally love this tape. It's so realistic. It's terrifying. The voices are so well done that you feel like it's really coming from a robot that found you and you know it won't end well. The designs are done so well that Scott Cawthon himself would use them for his game.
Fantastic movements! This video gives them an almost child like personality, which fits the whole thing of them being possessed by the spirits of children!
I can see that, and also them questioning why are you scared or hiding from me since they don’t know how terrifying it is for animatronics to chase after them and kill them and the security guards not knowing that they are possessed as well.
Out of all videos. This one by far is my favorite. The "Why are you hiding?" Is soo freaking good I love it. I literally have it stuck in my head repeatedly with his voice it's just awesome.
Freddy was either plotting to kill us when he got close or he was actually concerned. i cannot tell bc the line is so blurred here. this is still gold n creepy as fuck. great job
I don’t think the bear or whatever his name is is understands that he is actually afraid of HIM, the bear that walked in. So he questions “why are you hiding?” Cause he’s confused and maybe wants to help him out but again the person under the table is afraid of the bear and thinks it’s here to attack or maybe even kill him.
@@firefly5934 Ngl that thought is freaky as. Imagine you wanting to be by yourself to explore the pizzeria and then you see Freddy Fazbear in the corner like ‘Whatcha doin?’
I swear, everything up until the 30 second mark PERFECTLY captured what a nightmare feels like. I could totally picture myself having a nightmare ending like 0:29 with me waking up in a cold sweat. And the “whatcha doin’?” part is just so damn dread inducing. Some other comments pointed out how Freddy just LOCKS eye contact and barely moves like a predator watching it’s prey, kind of triggering a primal fear, and how it makes you feel completely at his mercy and unable to reason with him, and they got it dead on. Honestly, if that little shift at 0:17 hadn’t been there and he just said the line while staying dead still I swear my blood would’ve run cold.
I think the shift there does make it more logical though. The animatronics wouldn't be programmed to stay dead still, they'd shift idly so they don't seem so unnatural, but normally they'd already be looking around or talking or whatever else most of the time. When he stands still, the movement is intended to mimic the fidgeting and whatnot that people or animals would do while not doing anything else, but when he's not doing that, he's unnaturally still yet still has an appearance of being active and alive. That's what makes it more terrifying - it's mimicking life, but it in no way is achieving it.
now that you said it, it really makes sense, my cat usually stares at her "prey" with a very strong lock, like she is really trying to kill anything with her eyes alone lmao
The way Freddy says “Whatcha doing?” really gives me a sense of genuine fear I’ve never felt before. Along with the creepy atmosphere he’s in. Really amazing work dude
The fact that you guys can make something so creepy but so amazing is just so amazing. You can really feel the child in Freddy and him acting like a child being curious and worried is so amazing, and when you can feel the disturbance in the video. Well done.
"Watchya doin'?" Ferb and I are making animatronics designed to kidnap children to harvest remnant. Are we a little young to build mechanical nightmares and mess with forces we don't understand? Yes, yes we are. Where's Perry?
i LOVE the models used for this. specially foxy's. theres something abt this foxy that looks genuine. like if this is how he'd look irl. i love that so much
The fact that Freddy looking around the room for other kids and the 'Whatcha doin' and 'Why are you hiding' are probably programmed into him for when kids play hide and seek, intended to be completely innocent, but because of the circumstances it's absolutely Terrifying
How would they program him to do that with a computer? He's powered by air, I'm not sure if he has electrical wires to allow him to do that, because how else would he choose to walk (just my guess
I haven’t been scared or uncomfortable from watching or playing a scary video game in a long time. This made me so uncomfortable and genuinely terrified. Props to you man.
Jesus this was TERRIFIYING... I love tapes like these where you are put in this exact situation. I dislike tapes that cut off when something happens. This tape made you encounter and feel the animatronic as if it was right infront of you... Jesus..
These designs just work flawlessly, honestly it gives off the kind of things a regular performance animatronic look would have. The rosy cheeks and reddish nose just adds more depth and uniqueness to it
Oh my god this tape is so good. “Whatcha doin?” While doing there’s “HERES JOHNNY” door thing is just like my brother and he’s so childlike, and him repeating the questions. They’re innocent, too, but seeing this burly, probably 6ft, definitely stronger then u, bear animatronic ask you this has to be some level of terrifying. And when you turn and just see Foxy smiling. It’s great, because I can totally imagine them doing all this as children. When they’re human, it’s totally ok, maybe a tad spooky to get jumpscared by a child in Foxy’s position, but innocent nonetheless. But when they’re animatronics, it’s extremely unnerving, or flat out scary. And the way he pushed the door and looked at it, then goes back to his “What’chu doin?” is perfect, this whole tape is perfect. Love it so much I can’t stop rewatching this. Going through the comments and watching this video is so addicting
@@what-jj3vv No shit, Outlast is scary, not the second time you play it :/ it's the first trial and error experiences that scare you, after a while you can get used to it when you realize your mistakes, but when you do miss without knowing, that's gonna make you jump.
This is the first vhs to make me tear up. Not like crying, but really unsettling. Something about him walking into the room makes me really uncomfortable
