Putting together any saw is relatively simple for the main parts but it's all the rubber bits that cause delays. In order to restore a saw accurately it's the details that count. Also hard to find. I appreciate those details myself. It's the difference between "yah, it's a saw and WOW what a nice saw". Important to me all day every day. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙

"Tinman Style"! Now that needs to be put on a t shirt!!! I've relied on Harbor freight storage bins for years and have been happy with them.

I like your system for part storage. I don't have a lot of parts at this point so I have been using the inexpensive plastic "fishing lure" boxes with expandable sections for screws, clips, fuel filters, spark plugs, etc. I'm really enjoying this series and appreciate all your videos.

Really enjoying this build project and the addition of bike stuff is just icing on the cake! Also, you've inspired me to do something a little different to how I currently store the modest extra bits and pieces of saw parts that I do have! Thanks Tinman!

My old saw man kept his parts in cardboard parts bins , each with their own parts number . He had all the part numbers memorized , when working on a saw he would tell you the part number , never got one wrong . 🇨🇦👍

You’re organized, that’s half the battle. You know where to look for parts. I have a couple fishing tackle organizers that I have been using with success.

WOW, Tinman! I just didn't know Harley made any chainsaws. Learn something new every time! Have to say that my "small motors" trip started with the obnoxious weed-whacker. Wouldn't ya know, the real problem was...... old ethanol-containing gasoline. I've started "washing" my ethanol-gas. Ethanol likes water more than it likes gasoline. So after a pint or two of water, shake shake shake, then empty it all out into a clear bottle, then toss out the bottom water. Lasts a bit longer than before.

I always let the ad's play unless they're over 2 minutes long. Sometimes, I'll skip those. My parts organization is severely lacking. Most of my smaller parts are in clear plastic food storage containers and zip lock bags along the back of my workbench, and on a shelf next to it, some larger parts are in labeled cardboard boxes. The rest is wherever there was an open space or hook, lol! Funnily enough, I know exactly where 98% of everything is. Great talk and storage tips👍🏻

Great containers to keep parts not only organized, but clean as well. I currently run a carb ms362 and a auto tune ms362c-m. In my experience, the stihls i have had never leak bar oil like other brands. Cant wait to see the 026 running. Keep it going Tinman, the maritimes are watching.

Just finished rebuilding the most hated stihl saw made...the 019t! She starts and runs amazingly, can't wait to get it in the wood and see if my mild porting did anything to it! And for the record, the 019t is by far the most challenging saw I've worked on, but I did it :)

I use those plastic stackable parts bins. Parts saws I also leave intact and store them in yellow/black stacking home depot bins. They stack great. I was cleaning up a recent auction saw (came in a lot of 3) It is a ms180 c and someone had destroyed the easy start. An hour later and its all back and running great. Saw cleaned up nice. An ms250 had a small fire from fuel line. Great future donor motor one day lol

Panhead / Panhead. Coolest Harley motors ever. My last 2 wheel ride was a 51 Panhead. Rigid frame, foot clutch, ratchet top shifter. Sporster front end w/ dual disc brakes. Ooops went crazy sorry. Old geezer remembering. 😁

Great video. Always cool to see how others store thier stuff. I work out of a 8x 20’ shop strictly for my saws. I’ve covered every wall with shelving to utilize ever inch of space. I’ve torn down a lot of saws and divided up the parts into particular parts boxes, I’ve got milk crates for recoils, top covers, clutch covers etc etc. tanks and crank cases sit on lower shelving. All my bolts and small parts all separated into pull out parts drawers all organized in thier places. Pistons, cranks, fuel system items and carb kits all sit above the bench on shelves. Works for me. Thanks again for all your great work and videos.

I feel like the viewers, after seeing your stockpile are going to be like " I need to beef up my parts supply" and the parts suppliers are going to be like " why did we sell so many carb kits today?"😅 I keep my carb kits in a plastic container with dividers and frequently used ones on a nail on my wall .

This is hilarious - I was able to scavenge through about 10 different carb kits I had in the garage to rebuild a WAT yesterday as well! I'm just starting to get to the point where parts storage is becoming an issue for me. I'm looking at a few of the little pull out tray organizers to keep the small parts. Not sure on big parts yet.

I have been heavily immersed into Radio Control airplanes since 01, and have the same issue. I live fifteen minutes from the Canada border, and the parts are probably as rare here as there. Shoe storage boxes from walleyworld. 10 packs for about a buck each, semi transparent- but a strip of blue tape and felt pen do wonders. Stack, snap on top, works 😊

I managed to score 4off 8 draw cabinets. Each draw can take 3 14" x 11" x 4" 8-compartment storage boxes or more 12-compartment 8.5" x 8" x 2" then I've bothered to count lol So I'm good for the small stuff... at least so far.
