Candolim Beach - Goa North
India’s smallest province, Goa, is situated in the middle of the west coast of India. Dissected by the Goa International Airport, you have Goa North and Goa South. Through the years Goa North has built the reputation of being the party-vibe town and Goa South being a bit more chilled.
The whole of Goa has long stretches of white sand beaches. In the north these beaches are lined with beach pubs and restaurants. In the south it is a bit more scattered.
In this video I show you the stretch of beach known as Candolim Beach. It is basically the most southern beach of Goa North.
Some fun facts of Goa:
The hippie culture in Goa began in the 1960s when American and European hippies sought a more peaceful and fulfilling way of life. They were disillusioned with materialism and found Goa a perfect destination due to its undeveloped nature, beautiful beaches and rich cultural heritage.
Goa trance is an electronic dance music style that originated in the early 1990s.
The first parties were those held in the far north of Goa at Arambol beach and attempts initially were made to turn them into commercial events, which met with much resistance and the need to pay the local Goan police baksheesh.
Goa trance often has drone-like basslines, similar to the techno minimalism of 21st century psychedelic trance (psytrance). Psychedelic trance developed from Goa trance.
