I'm sorry folks but WHY do girls ALWAYS WORRY about what another girl is wearing???? Did you look at her shoes also???? Really really PATHETIC... just saying 😱🤔🤨🫤
I strongly disagree. I don't think victim-impact statements belong in court at all. If the victims have pertinent facts, they should present them from the witness box under oath, and should be subject to cross examination. The Constitution says the accused has a right to confront the witnesses against him.
Why? That's literally what every Christian does. Hell, there's never been an organization that's abused more children than the church. This is typical "Christian" behavior.
That’s the courts issue not hers. They allow it. She should be in jail until her court date she could have killed to ppl. But her rights deserve higher acknowledgment than the victims.
She totally did !!! and her defence attorney needs to retire he is clearly unwell and should look after his own welfare now. The defendant was entitled and all about herself she showed zero remorse for what she did to the driver of the other car she devastated his life and she didn’t care. Jail was were she belonged!!
That was not an option presented to her. Judges rarely rule outside of established plea deals, because is undermines the trust in the attorneys and the proceedings of the court.
I agree. No excuse, #1 for drinking and driving. Someone suffered physically because of her negligence, and probably will again, because she will still drink and drive. No excuses for her. In jail she won’t be drinking and driving where she can do harm to someone else.
I actually think she is sorry. DUI is a horrid thing to do and needs to stop. But consider this; she is on a 10 year order, lost her license, she is now a convicted felon for life which excludes her from many things. Not sure prison would truly help TBH. I do feel that restitu.tion should be set higher. She should be made to pay a monthly sum for life to help the victim. Here in the UK we have the criminal compensation scheme. If you are a victim of a crime you can get a payout off the state for criminal injuries and the state gets it back off the perp. This way you are not relient on the perp who may not pay, you get your money and the state chase them
That poor man got a life sentence, and she basically got a get out of jail card. 😕 I hope she breaks her parole and goes to jail. She was only apologetic at the very last time for her sentencing. I don't believe she meant it. Judges skulls look at the social media of these felons...
Agree, she's probably gonna dance right out of that courtroom when she finds out that she got probation, I have no sympathy for her whatsoever. The judge was too soft on her. I had a friend hit by drunk driver. And he has permanent brain damage and the guy got basically a slap on the wrist for it.
How dare Judge not sentence her to jail. It's so ridiculous to give more consideration for the drunk driver than the rest of us who are forced to risk driving amongst them.
@rachelr.n.3563 I guess when one has a family member who killed another family member driving drunk they ask themselves..who matters more..the one sitting in an overcrowded cell for a little while or the one who is dead because of them. Of course, previous judges thought enough probation finger waggings would do the trick and save on the cost of incarceration. I mean, until someone is killed by shooting a gun in a crowd, essentially what driving drunk is, what's the big deal to keep shooting when one knows the threats of jail are empty as long as the jails are crowded.
@@Lomojo31 Unfortunately, I'm not the judge! I don't agree with what she did. Maybe people should stop being Shi++y human beings and we wouldn't have these problems!
It’s like she’s two separate people. One is the party girl in silky dresses, provocatively posing all over the place, showing her ankle monitor like it’s a badge of honor, going to bars and such, spending a lot of money. The other is a mom who has no money and can’t pay her fees who blatantly chose to drive drunk more than once, lied to a judge over and over about drinking, saying she is a Christian and never drinks and wouldn’t ever lie about it, and it must be Lysol or some other chemical giving her a bad reading. She had tears while one of the victims spoke to her about how he’s doing after surgeries, learning to walk again, possibly loosing his leg, and the hatred and anguish he feels everyday for what she did to him and his son. He’s broken and traumatized by her choice. Every time she lied to Judge Boyd, she knew she had gone and gotten drunk and drove home, hitting the victims. But she was out partying again and again with more and more lies to everyone’s faces. I’m so angry that she got away with this for so long, walking out of court with a smile on her face. It’s not the Judges fault. The Judicial System has to be redone from the bottom up. SHE SHOULD BE IN JAIL, not on Probation. I pray the victims heal and find a balance in their life where they have lives again. I hope the trauma subsides and their fears become manageable. 🌹✨🕊🙏🏼🫂🕯🔆♥️
My mother was killed by a drunk driver who had 3 drunk driving offenses. My mother never saw my children graduate get married or see her great grandchildren. The loss is more than people can imagine.
We lost two families members to a drunk driver who literally mowed them down as they walked along together. In court he said it was their fault for being out at night (I kid you not) he was three times over the limit. He got two years. Turned out he’d done it before. Not killed but badly injured someone when drunk driving so he knew that there was a potential consequence. Someone tell me why they are allowed to drive ever again. And tell me why wiping out two lives are only worth two years of which he’ll have served at most 18 months.
She had the AUDACITY to interrupt his impact statement by saying she has dreams when he explained the nightmares he has hitting the brakes in his sleep. It's ALL about her. This chick will never make it 10 years on probation. She's too much of a narrcissist. She deserved jail time! I'm extremely frustrated with this one terribly!

I’d just like to say, I was put up for adoption at the age of 3. I was physically abused at the orphanage. I was sent to several foster homes and was sexually abused at one of the. I was adopted by an abusive alcoholic at the age of 5. I was sexually assaulted by a neighbour and by an uncle that started at age 10 and ended when I was 16. I finally told my second stepmother (first stepmother died when I was 9) about the abuse and she told me it was my fault and called me a slut. After all this I have never driven while intoxicated and I have never committed a crime. I got married and had 2 kids and after 38 years I’m still happily married. I hate people that use their past as an excuse.
Agreed. I am so tired of all these criminals using their childhood trauma as an excuse. I know way too many people like you, and like myself, who went through horrendous trauma and abuse and managed to live crime free lives. In my opinion, I had the perfect example of what not to do. I also was called a slut and told to go f myself when I was 9 years old. I wanted to prove to the world I was not a slut. When I was pregnant with my son, my first thought was that I didn't want him to grow up on welfare like I did. So I went to beauty college while I was pregnant. I passed my state board exam when he was 2 weeks old. I ended up not loving the profession, so I went to college full time at night while I worked full time during the day to get a degree in business. I did the opposite of what was done to me. I did not spank because that could lead to physical abuse. I tried not to ever yell, but have to admit that I do have a snapping point when I get pushed too far, so I did yell a handful of times. I never tried hard drugs because I knew the only way to guarantee I wouldn't end up addicted to drugs like my mother was to never try them. I think I did OK because my son just got his PhD in Bioengineering from U-Penn, and landed a 6 figure job. He has zero debt, not even a car pqyment, and he will never have to struggle financially like I did as a single parent my whole life. The fact that he absolutely loves his work is icing on the cake. I feel like my life mission is complete. I broke the cycle of welfare, drugs, trauma, abuse, and neglect.
Thank you for sharing your experience, I was raised by mom who never said much and an alcoholic father, that was an anger drunk! Punch me till I passed out for about 12 years! Now happily married with two kids, God Bless you for being stronger than your abuser!
Absolutely agree with your comment. I don't care about her past. She made bad choices and now. She's just getting probation what a joke the judge was too soft.
I usually like Judge Boyd. She seemed to be tough on defendants that don’t follow rules- however this one I’m disappointed in. She should have revoked her bond the first time she violated!!
Nah, this outcome was extremely appropriate. Just use your brain for a second. 1) She has to pay restitution to her victim, which is what's most important. If she's in jail, she can't make money and give it to him. 2) She has probation for 10 YEARS. That mans if she messes up AT ALL for a decade then she goes right into prison to serve a ten year sentence. Alternatively, if she never does a single thing wrong for a full 10 years, then I'd say she's proven she doesn't need to be punished any more. That's the best thing for society, for everyone. 3) If the judge tried to sentence her to prison, what do you think would happen, little buddy? She would withdraw her plea and they would need to go through with a whole trial. None of the admissions she made as a part of the plea deal would be legally admissible in her trial, and she may very well receive absolutely no punishment at all, genius. But even if she WAS convicted and sentenced to prison at the end of it, the victim would have to wait for probably YEARS before they began to receive compensation. They would have this hanging over their head, unresolved, for years. They would need to go through the retraumatization of watching the trial AND being interrogated on the witness stand. The prosecutors would need to spend an enornous amount of time on this case, and they only have a finite amount of time. That means less time spent on murder cases or cases like that cop that raped an infant. The courts also have a finite caseload they can oversee, which means that many other people would have their own justice delayed while they waited for this to finish. And then, the best case scenario? Taxpayers need to pay for all of this prosecution, and then they have to pay to keep her in jail. Those jails also have a finite amount of space, so the more people like this that go in, the earlier we have to release other people who are even worse. All of that, just for the chance that maybe some random juror thinks she's pretty and they refuse to convict. You never know what's going to happen when something goes to an actual trial. The prosecutors and judge did the absolute best possible thing here. I shudder to think what our justice system would look like if someone as stupid as you was in charge. The thing is this case alone should've received cps involvement and if he was a great parent or anything like that he would've received full custody. Spazing out in the chat saying how shitty of a person she is as opposed to fighting for his children makes me think that he was denied custody.
@@Zaners82123 I said I think he was trying to get custody. He may have already had custody. He was there to follow the case like the rest of us because he was an interested party. He never said if he was the father to the older child or the 2 year old. He never said anything horribly bad about her except that she had a bad drinking problem-which was evident. The only other thing I clearly remember is that he was going to be watching every hearing as he wasn’t able to attend in person and it was important for him to know how it turned out. If they had joint custody CPS wouldn’t automatically be involved in his life - SHE would have a CPS case plan but that doesn’t mean he would. If the child was removed from her custody at all by CPS - they would call him first. Anyway - the chat was shut down before the case concluded. @@chrissz1762 Absolutely agree with you. This whole situation is pathetic. Shouldn't have taken 9 trips to the courthouse to resolve this; and NO REAL PUNISHMENT. Judges nowadays are TOO SOFT ON CRIME.
I worked as a server and a bartender in Texas. In order to serve alcohol you have to take a week long class and pass all tests with at least a 90%. TABC laws are no joke. The main point of these classes is to understand that you, as the server, are personally responsible for over serving. I hope the victim, in this case, sues the hell out of that server.
Back in the day, a coworker of mine was co-owner of a bar. When Breathalyzers became available, he and his partner installed a coin operated on in the bar, so that their patrons could check if they were legal to drive. Not long after, even though the machine was making them a TON of money, their consciences forced them to remove it. Problem was, their patrons were competing for high score. That is not a joke. Here in NYS laws on overserving bar patrons are honored more in the breach than the observance. Generally if you're not causing a disturbance, they will keep pouring you drinks.
The victim broke my heart. This is so horrific and unfair. She deserved prison. I hope he doesn’t lose his leg. He said he hits the brakes in his dreams every night 😢 the pain has to be unbearable. RUFKM!!!...What is wrong with Judge Boyd?...Her attorney, whom should retire, has been allowed to delay this case while his client has this smirk on her face. Over 500 days. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!
It’s not the Judge’s fault. The defence lawyer delayed the cases and the defendant was twice positive for alcohol. The judge would have preferred to get it over and done with but she didn’t have adequate defence and that would have allowed the defendant to appeal.
Spent 20 months in a wheelchair recovering from injuries caused by a drunk driver. He ran a light and hit me while walking across a Boston street. Have 7/24 pain and limitations on mobility three decades later after 17 surgeries. Have no sympathy whatsoever with someone who would drive while impaired.
Wow! You should have never had to deal with this. Commend your strength for being so unfairly devastated by someone else’s horrid actions & still being able to even watch a clip like this & be measured in your response. Very graceful. I wish all good things for you.
The state didn’t even ask for jail time. She was driving drunk and got into an accident forever changing the lives of 2 people. It’s gross how many times the state makes deals instead of going to trial. A jury would have convicted her.
Probably because the defendant is cute and the judge probably thinks she would get assaulted in ten minutes if she sent her to a real prison. Cute chicks usually don't last long in prison.
@@mharris5047mmm i don’t think her looks have anything to do with it. It’s probably more that the jails are full. I’d rather my tax dollars go towards more prisons than to the Ukraine
As a man who is the former director of corrections for a state once told me, “you rarely see a good looking white woman going to prison. It has to be a pretty heinous crime for that to happen”.

Maybe whatever profession pays for all those expensive clothes, accessories, the GMC Yukon, et. al. involves someone politically connected? A little blackmail goes a long way.
I disagree with Judge Boyd on the sentencing and not hearing the Victim Impact Testimony BEFORE sentencing. The victim is right. She got off light. Based on hearing the father give his victim impact testimony, she should have been sentenced to 10 years, five of those years in prison and the remainder of the 10-year sentence to formal probation.
You're absolutely right. It is disgusting that she got a slap on the wrist. A friend of mine was hit by a drunk driver has permanent brain damage and the guy that hit him got a slap on the wrist. Also, these judges are too soft on these people.
Let me help you understand it. There was no sentencing phase. The case didn't go to trial. There was a plea deal. She pled guilty before a trial. The sentence was already determined prior to the plea, so there is no possible way that a victim impact statement could have affected things. The victim has already made their feelings known to the prosecutor, and the prosecutor is the one who camr up with the sentence when they proposed the plea deal. The victim impact statement is being put on the record now so that it can be taken into account if there ever is a sentencing for this crime in the future. You see, she's on probation for an entire decade. That means that if she messes up at all, a single time over the course of the next ten years, she will go to jail for a decade. The judge, when formally sentencing her after she messes up, will take the victim impact statement into account then. If she goes to jail and tries to get released on parole, then the parole board will also get to hear the victim impact statement before making their decision. This is all extremely appropriate and true justice. If she never messes up a single time for an entire decade, then she has demonstrated that she does not need any harsher corrective action to make her a producitve member of society. The most important thing is that she oays restitution to her victim. She can't possibly do that if she is in jail and not making any money. You would take food out of the mouth of her victim just to satisfy your desire to punish her? That's a little fucked up. Not to mention, if the judge goes against the plea agreement and sentenced her to jailtime, she would just withdraw her plea. None of the admissions she made about her guilt as a part of the plea deal could legally be used to convict her, so there is a very good chance that she would go free without any punishment at all. Even if she was convicted, you force the victim to live with the uncertainty of the trial for probably years. They are guaranteed to not receive and compensation for that entire duration. And they would be retraumatized by having to watch the trial and be interrogated on the witness stand. Then there is the temendous cost to society. Taxpayers need to be an enormous sum for the trial and her incarceration, but that's by far the least impactful part of it. Courts and judges are a finite resource. The time spent on this trial means that pther people will have to wait to get their own justice. Prosecutorial resources are similarly finite. Every minute that a prosecutor spends on this case is a minute that cannot be spent on the numerous murders, rapes, and child molestation cases that they constantly see. Much more terrible people may go free because of that, or they will offer even more egregious plea deals to real monsters because they just don't have the manpower to be certain of a conviction. So, please, before you get all agitated about some perceived injustice, or you want to offer some advice about a complex topic like this, think to yourself: do I actually understand this topic well enough to have a valid opinion about it? And the answer will invariably be no, because you're clearly a fucking moron, so you should leave things like this to the big boys from now on.

I was actually working from home at the time so arrived at the scene pretty quickly. When I arrived at the scene, I couldn't understand how my Fiancé took the bulk of the hit with the direction they were going and from where she exited. It wasn't until later that he told me that all he could think about was that if he didn't break and turn the wheel the way he did, that his Son, which is his only child, surely would have died with how fast she was going. So he did everything he could to make sure this didn't happen. I praise God that they both lived!! I took pictures of the scene and all throughout his recovery, including video. Life completely stopped for us that first year, We had to pic and choose the family events that we could attend according to his pain level, duration, and even location as he was in a wheel chair that was pretty heavy for me to lift, he couldn't bend his leg, which has taken a very long time to get him to bend it close to 90 degrees!!! He still needs more surgeries as he hasn't already been through enough! Pancreatitis, gall bladder surgery, previous knee surgery, a triple bypass, he already suffers from PTSD from his service in the Navy. Meanwhile, she was out enjoying her life, getting her hair done, but was on government assistance, I had to stop getting my hair done, and had to take on more, including taking care of him. Which is what we do for those we love, but what pissed me off was the fact that she continued to live and we stopped living life. She showed absolutely no remorse and all her crying was more because she got caught, she showed this time and time again, but my Fiancé held the swinging door for her, THAT PISSED ME OFF!! not so much because he did it as this shows how great of a man he is, but more so because no one thought to have her wait until he was seated. I could go on and on... I just wanted to thank you for sharing this and shedding light on drunk during and how it can destroy a family. So thank you!
Heartbreaking. Simply heartbreaking. It is SO hard to watch the one responsible for ending your life as you know it go on as if they hadn’t made the choices that they did, hadn’t caused the pain and heartbreak that they did, and take no responsibility for any of it. My 17 yr old daughter was killed on a car crash with a 38 yr old ass who was a drug addict with three drugs in his system at the time. He drove into her lane, hitting her head on. She was on her way to work on that beautiful May afternoon. Her boss called to ask if she’d left yet because she wasn’t there at her scheduled time, the first time ever. My 14 yr old daughter and I left to see if she had possibly broken down on her way there. We got near to where the crash happened and I asked the person directing traffic if the vehicle was yellow, that my daughter was late for work and I was worried. He asked me her name. When I told him, he asked me to drive up and park on the shoulder of the road. Getting out of the vehicle and walking up to see a trooper coming towards me was the longest walk. When he told me she died, I just froze. My daughter screamed. And, with that, our life as we knew it was over forever. So many court dates. So many motions. So many meetings with the DA. So many phone calls. The funeral. The utter despair and grief. The ups and downs in court. Finding out that the trooper did not obtain his explicit “consent” for the blood draw and thus, a jury would only be told it was an “accident” with the driver taking his eyes off the road. How many drivers can say they haven’t done that? In the end, we did agree to a plea. Not at all what we wanted. But, the potential “sentence” he would have gotten was 2 years probation. Our plea gave him 3 months in county jail, he served 145 days. He also is on probation for 10 years, lost his license for 2 years, and had to pay court costs and $1k to the crime victims group. All because troopers did not get his “consent.” I call bullshit. The troopers took photos of the bong they found in his vehicle. But that wasn’t probable cause. I think a blood draw should be mandatory in crashes with a death. Silly I know, since the court system doesn’t want to violate and defendant’s “rights.” And now this piece of trash is a “pastor.” All clean and sober. Never once admitting what he did, but sharing all about his personal “trauma” in most times of sharing his “testimony.”’ I’m sorry to high jack your post. This video just stirred me up and then reading your post added to my anger. I pray that he finds healing, that his son is healing, and that you find rest and comfort.
@MonicalNava I am so sorry I am just seeing this. The comments get overwhelming sometimes. I was preparing an update (she violated) and completely by chance landed on your comment. So much love to your and your man. I am SOOO sorry he had to endure that horror. Please let me know if there is anything at all that we (the channel community) can do to help your family (if you have any fundraisers, gofundme, want to share your story, spread the word about drunk driving, anything at all). Please email me directly meg@megscrimewatch.com or dm me on one of the socials (scroll to the top of my channel and you will see all the links). Sending all the positivity in the world to you! -Meg
Monica, I lost my brother when he was 16 to a drunk driver and I’m so sorry what you and your family have gone through. His actions show his dedication to his family and the sacrifice we make for them . His quick actions made all the difference. I hope he continues to heal. It seems like there was never really any remorse, accountability or understanding from the defendant about the seriousness of what she did to your husband/son. Please take care of yourself and them. We all wish you the best. 💕
As someone who was tboned exactly one year ago…can’t recall the accident, has a TBI because of it, lost so much because of that one accident, what that guy said to her just brought tears to my eyes.
Judge Boyd really dropped the ball on this one. Those pics the defendant posts are gross. She appears to be a straight-up narcissist. She really thinks she's something and she sure did a snow job on the court about her being "indigent."
This woman makes me sick....posting on social media, bragging, and flaunting. She's not sorry at all. Her attorney was horrible as well. How are you not able to be contacted for 3 weeks by your firm and the court?????
I agree with your comment. Just disgusting that she got a slap on the wrist and then out there posted like it's no big deal. She strikes me as very cold-hearted and only seems to think about herself. And her apology did not sound sincere at all. And I don't buy it when she was talking about the lysol. Situation, give me a break can't believe the judge fell for that 1.
Last comment-I promise! I thought her attorney said her uncle abused her & her 2 children, so she escaped to a shelter in another town. But….her husband, the father of her 2 year old-is in court with her???? I’m super confused!!!!
Also, Judge Boyd failed on this one, which makes me sad because she is one of my favorite judges. Serious miscarriage of justice. Her lawyer is not doing well at all physically or mentally due to his unrelated injuries. I really kind of feel bad for him. But this right here is ridiculous. Drunk driving tears lives apart and this is absolutely unacceptable.
These two survivors will have to carry the weight of HER choice to drive drunk for the rest of their lives. She gets to walk away. 2 years license suspension, and half of the term of probation only for the interlock. im so upset by judge Boyd dropping the ball on this big time.
I don't believe a word this woman says about being sorry. Not when she all over the net posting herself in designer clothes and smiling like she doesn't have a care in the world. She should be doing jail time. My heart goes out to the victim even if her's does not.
Very glad I found you. The courts need to look at social media in sentencing. This woman learned far too little, obviously. Thank you for your thoroughness. Our judges need to become tech savvy.
Who is watching her kids while she's out partying? I think she should be serving real time. I agree with you. Penalties for drunk or impaired driving should be stiffer. Thanks for showing the whole video.
I gotta say, I’ve lost some respect for my favorite judge. This train wreck of a woman is getting away with all this? I guess other defendants can use this case to get the same treatment? Ridiculous.
@@bunyz9728but the judge didn't have to follow recommendations and absolutely could have sentenced her to a hard 10 years. She made the wrong call. Shame on Judge Boyd on this one.
I totally agree. I love Judge Boyd & I know she likes being able to help & give people a second chance; but, this woman definitely needs jail time. It won't surprise me if she ends up in front of her again; I just hope that it's not as a result of her killing someone.😢😡😢
@@marywagner9927She killed the guy she hit future! He could still loose his leg. What about 24/7 pain? And who knows how much it affected his son. If this happened to your family you'd feel much differently.
Meg thank you! I watch a lot of the American courts on utube and your channel is by far the best. Not only do you produce easy to watch, well edited programmes but your commentary is poignant, factual, compassionate towards victims, informative and humorous ( always appropriately so) All in all your awesome and your timing is brilliant when that attorney pushed his chair back !! It was so funny. So sending you a big thank you for all the hard work you put into producing each of your programs, the quality of which is outstanding. Warmest regards from Scotland and wishing your channel every success in the future. Wendy xx
I totally agree. I’ve been watching Meg from the beginning of her channel and have watched her grow and develop a great reputation among her peers in this community. She digs deep and follows through with all the cases.
Why is Boyd telling this defendant that she appreciates her ownership to the charges when she had 4 violations saying that Lysol was the culprit for the positive alcohol tests. Baffled how Boyd accepted that excuse not once, but TWICE!!
Decades ago, when people going to jail for DWI manslaughter was virtually unheard of, I was on a jury hearing a case about a young mother who killed two teenage girls and permanently disabled another teen after blowing through a red light at over 100 mph. The victims car was obliterated. They had no chance. The defendant was pretty much uninjured. The State was asking for up to 20 years in prison for DWI Manslaughter. The defendant had no priors of any kind. To this day I still don't understand the defense strategy. The defendant pled not guilty, but the defense offered nothing at all to suggest their client wasn't guilty of manslaughter. They spent several days trying to make a case that their client actually did everything she was accused of, with one exception, and that was she wasn't driving drunk. She was admittedly driving like a lunatic, just not driving while intoxicated. And the truly bizarre part was the penalty was the same regardless. The defendant never testified, and never offered any kind of apology. The defense didn't ask for probation. They were going all out for a not guilty verdict. The jury had the option of acquittal, misdemeanor wreckless driving, criminally negligent homicide, involuntary manslaughter, or DWI manslaughter, and anywhere from 6 months probation to 20 years in prison. We convicted her of DWI Manslaughter and sentenced her to 5 years in prison and 10 years probation upon release. A deadly weapon stipulation was added (her car) requiring her to serve at least half her term before being eligible for parole. I have no idea how that all turned out. I often wonder how the Judge would have sentenced her had she selected that option, or what sentence she would have received if the offense had happened today and Judge Boyd here was hearing the case.
How so? The woman is being put into a inpatient rehab which is being locked up for at least 30 days. She has a clean criminal record and is paying for this. People are acting like this because they're either jealous or want her crucified. Being on probation for a decade isn't something anyone would want to deal with. Aside from the cost it's intrusive. People need to put their claws away.
luckily Boyd can see the bigger picture of the judicial system and doesnt stumble over pebbles like this when there are plenty of victims that need justice
@ppw2393 so its ur opinion thst just cause she has no record that her almost killing people is ok for rehab? Please get sum brains u r useless to society
