Party Song! Reaction to 4Minute "Crazy" 

So 4Minute actutally sadly disbanded in 2016 after their last MV called „Hate“ please react to that one as well. 4Minute is still one of my all time favorite girlgroups 💜 the members are Hyuna, Jiyoon (green hair), Sohyun (twerking girly & youngest), Gayoon (main vocal, long brown hair) and Jihyun (leader & last girl with the ponytail). They all go into separate ways now. Sohyun & Jihyun are actors, Gayoon, Hyuna & Jiyoon are solo artists. They disbanded because all (except Hyuna) didn’t renew the contract with CUBE Entertainment (which I completely understand. They weren’t treated equally and Hyuna was preferred a lot) After that, most if not all members unfollowed Hyuna on Instagram but I think 2 years ago Sohyun & Jihyun followed her again. They debuted in 2009 which makes them 2nd Gen 🩷 debut song is „Hot Issue“ they were in the same label as CLC

4Minute is another example of what I try to communicate to fans that get over-hyped for their current favorite group. K-pop history is littered with groups who were at the top or very successful, and then they were gone. The same pattern is found in Western music - groups who came out strong for a few years, and then were gone. No group lasts forever, except maybe The Rolling Stones, who are still touring. ;) It's why I always show respect to the veteran groups who are still here. You can love your favorites and support them, but don't try to live in - and brag about - their supposed future accomplishments. In fact don't worry about whether they're "#1" or not, just enjoy who you enjoy. There are artists in the Rock&Roll Hall Of Fame who were never considered to be #1 at the time. 5 years ago, I didn't become a Blink because of their accomplishments, but because I liked them. I'm proud of what they've accomplished, but I'd still like them even if they hadn't gotten as big as they are. 20 years (or more) from now, the music you listen to isn't going to be based on how much a group/artist achieved, but how much that music still speaks to you. As you get older, you start to realize that awards and chart rankings and album sales, etc., mean less and less, and what matters is the music, and it doesn't matter what anyone else likes. Sorry for the rant, but old folk love to share their experience with young folk and hope they'll listen. ;)

4Minute was the group that drew me onto Kpop music for the first time back in 2012.

This was my favorite group for many years, and Gayoon (the one you said had an amazing voice) was my ultimate bias. Sadly, they did disband, but fortunately, BlackPink came along shortly after. They are now my favorite group, and Rosé is my ultimate bias, but I still listen to 4Minute fairly often.

G idle took over the reign as the girl group who making money for cube entertainment since the disbandment of 4 minute. It was 4 minute then. I don’t think anyone beside hyuna is currently active in the music industry at the moment

So sad I hadn't discovered kpop while they were still together but when I did find them they kust blow your mind. They are incredible badasses!!

i have subtitles on for my first watch of an MV and that's it - after all you can't have lyrics when you're listening to it on the car stereo. as for disbanding, who knows why Cube disbands groups that are doing well. 4minute only had one more song after this (called Hate) and i would think collectively they are two of their most popular tracks. HyunA has always done well as a solo artist and her two other groups/projects, Troublemaker and Triple H, did really well too but they were quick to boot her out when her relationship became public - so i think part of it is because they're trying to save face (because k-netz are psychotic when it comes to idols dating or having scandals) and i think there's an assumed timeline for a groups career and once they've got their successor group ready they put all their resources into that group which is kinda common across the industry. there's plenty of competition for who is the worst company in Kpop and there are some real horror stories but among the big companies Cube are the worst in my opinion.

4minute's discography is full of great songs. Muzik, Huh, Volume up, Mirror Mirror, Whatcha doin today, I My Me Mine, Love tension, Hate and Canvas are but just a few. About 4M disbandment, we never got a full story, just mostly speculation. We do know that the Cube wanted to make Hyuna the focal point of the group from the beginning. No doubt that created some animosity among the members. But what I remember hearing the most was that the way members heard about the disbandment was through media reports. I imagine that since Hyuna was signed to a solo contract, she was told by the agency. To many fans, that says the Cube wasn't actually trying to resign the group. The Cube was bought out by Starline just months before 4M was disbanded. Rumors were that Starline felt that 4Minute wasn't as successful as they needed to be and that a Hyuna solo career was the only part they wanted to keep. Hyuna and Jiyoon (green hair) are the only members to continue in music. Jiyoon resurfaced under the name Jenyer. She has had moderate success as a solo artist. Her more notable singles are, I Do, Magnate, Illusion, Bad, and Soop (which features Gayoon). Jiyoon is also the vocalist for the EDM group PRSNT. Which has also had some success with, Take that back, La Vida Loca, All night long, Where are you from, and Chameleon. Hyuna is, well Hyuna. Her career is well documented. The rest of the group moved into acting with decent success. I deeply miss 4minute. They are my favorite 2nd gen group.

I found Hyuna in 2012 through Psy's Gangnam style video. I read the comments about her being in the video and belonging to 4Minute. That was the beginning of my trip down the rabbit hole in KPOP and I haven't come back up for air yet. I was totally fascinated with her until she hooked up EDawn and looked strung out on drugs. I really haven't come back to her, but miss 4Minute so bad. This group and this song and Hate CD didn't really sell well in Asia, mostly in the USA. Add to the fact that they were under Cube which is a POS company was why they disbanded. I am about the same age as you guys. Hate, First, Muzik, Volume Up, and their only real ballad Cold Rain. I have around 20 songs in my playlist.

Thank you. 4 Minute was my inroad into K-Pop. After watching non stop Babymetal for three months in early 2018, a video Popped up showing Japanese and Korean girl groups from 2016.The one song called Hate by 4Minute peaked my attention. I then heard Crazy and all the rest. 4Minute appeared around 2009 and 2NE1 started the same time. They were rivals. 4Minute have two distinct periods. The early period and the period this song is from. 4Minute is called by that name as all the songs are less than four minutes. It is not 100% correct as just one song is just over 4 minutes in length. The group did not disband. It was said by Cube the label that Hyuna signed, but the other girls would resign as they would sign again. This is not true as the first the other girls heard is when they got emails from the label. The label had new staff and just basically threw the group in the trash. Obviously, Cube wanted to release material by new artists and needed the funding. Personally, Cube are a nasty company and they also treat CLC like dirt too. Hyuna left the label after she publicly announced she was involved with a partner. It does not look good in the K-Pop World if you are romantically involved. I love most of 4Minute songs and the girls were/are very talented. I have the three full albums they released in Korea and Japan. Hot Issue, Huh, Muzik, Volume Up and Hate are good to post in the future. There are a few more single tracks too.

Why did 4Minute break up? Well that's a loaded question. Let's just say that Cube is not the best place to be a girl group... (G)I-dle did a Relay Dance cover of Crazy, I highly suggest you check it out. As a matter of fact, I think Relay Dances are probably the kind of content you guys would really like!!!!!
