also, if you have the background "folk hero" out, if cast in an enemy turn it triggers and you can draw a card :) and with bukaros and folk hero as Commander, that can happen very fast.
@@jgicantfindaname yeah you are absolutely right, they would just have to sacrifice one wizard. Thx mate. I am gonna delete my wrong ruling, not to confuse someone.
I added Vault of the Archangel and Soul of Eternity to this deck so when I swang often I gained life and when soul of eternity comes out even though he's not in the party, there have been times he comes out as a 75/75 or 56/56 and then gets lifelink and deathtouch from Vault of the Archangel on the next swing... Won me many games of EDH with my own version of this deck. I also opted for more shape shifters from other sets to meet party requirements.
+1, Nalia is awesome. Looks like you build this exactly in the direction this deck needs, I like it. I do have some questions/comments about your upgrades. Nalia looks to me like an agro type commander, and we want to trigger her +1/+1 counter as much as possible. So we need to get the party going as soon as possible. There are a couple of cheap Shapeshifter cards that can help fixing the party. Universal Automaton, Impostor of the Sixth Pride, Skeletal Changeling, Stonework Packbeast, how do you feel about this? Also, how does your balance in clerics/rogues/wizards/warriors look after upgrades? As for cuts, Mardu Strike Leader is one of the cards I'd keep, as this fits the agro strategy perfect. Adding a token that will (if things go good) get a +1/+1 counter aswell seems like the thing this deck needs. Crib swap's major benefit is that it can be played from the top. Speaking of which, lands are probably the biggest factor in getting stuck with your topdeck and Bolas's citadel won't help with that either (beyond the first one). Therefore it does feel a bit redudant. Lasty I'd like to suggest two permanents that fit within the budget and I think are really synergistic and potent: Oketra's Monument and Haunted Crossroads
You guys didn't understand the wording of calculating lich correctly. It works the same way slumgar does. Whenever a creature attacks one if your opponents, that player looses one life. This means if you have 5 creatures swinging, that player looses 5 life. Slumgar says whenever a dragon you control attacks, defending players creatures get a -1/-1. Meaning if there's 5 dragons swinging, all creatures get a -5.
I just got this deck and I thank you for some ideas. It feels like the main deck have too many cute and expensive cards and I'll cut the mana curve down alot and seek to keep the pressure up.
I run Magus of the Balance within my board wipe package. Between Angel of Glory's Rise, Faith's Reward, and several cards like these (cards that flicker your creatures away to keep them safe, or cards that return anything and everything of your own, including lands). It's a great way to constantly threaten one-sided wipes paired with game winning board positions for yourself. In Orzhov especially, there's an easy 8 cards to mass reanimate or save your own board. I'd be happy to list more if needed.
Maybe it's my playgroup meta, but butcher did work in the 1 game I was able to get him out. My buddy's atraxa was up to like 16mana to recast just because of the edict effect of butcher, but I get the cut for mana cost.
@@breeze7464 paying 2 mana extra for the ability to play it off the top is worth it in my opinion. This is part of your removal suite along with the 1 mana exiles
@@therealnecromancer1231 but it's not? They cut it as well. 2 mana to have an 'extra' card to cast IF it's on top is way too situational versus just drawing a removal. Like I said, the interaction is amazing but the card is incredibly meh, especially when you compare it to literally any other exile removal. For that same 3 mana cost, you could exile ANY permanent, not just a creature.
