I enjoy the non-American athlete interviews tbh. No disrespect, but it's just something different. The road to the NBA just seems a bit tougher, which usually makes for great interview material. Keep going JJ!

I agree it gives you a different perspective on how many international players made it to the nba and their lives. Most people know how American players make it to the nba, but when you're from overseas, it's a different kind of struggle.

Different type of struggle for sure. And I love the perspectives they offer as someone not living in the us myself. However, I wouldn’t say it necessarily is always MORE of a struggle. That is something very difficult to quantify and an extremely GENERALIZED statement and who I am to say that one's road was necessarily different than someone who grew up in the dirt poor streets of an inner city such as Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, etc.

As someone who listens to this pod outside the US I love to hear the Non-American Basketball Players. My favorite is still Steven Adams episode to this day. The NBA was never the goal but became the goal. Steven Adams wanted a full scholarship in college expecting to spend 4 yrs, with no expectation got drafted and the rest was history. Pascal played soccer. Just coincidence that he got dragged along to local camps and NBA camps. Late 1st round draft pick. NBA champion.

Props to the Raptors for drafting the only player from the 2016 Draft to make it to both the All-star and All-NBA teams, aside from Ben Simmons 1. The other all-stars from this class include Sabonis 11, Brown 3, and Ingram 2. Notably, Hield 6 and Rookie of the Year Winner Brogdan 36 have yet to make a single All-star appearance. Comparing their entire careers, Brogdan has arguably had the brightest statistical years as he is on pace to repeat last year's 21/5/5 averages in Indiana. Ben Simmons (14.7%), remarkably, is not the worst 3-point shooter in his class with at least 10 attempts. That title belongs to Zubac (10%) and Qi (10.5%). The greatest 3-point shooter from this draft class, of course, is Hield with 40.3% with 1241 made, which is good for 70th All-time.
