We all know this guy for something. God rest his soul he was by far the most entertaining Montreal Expo ever to bare the uniform.
For those of you who don't know a lot about Pascual, he was a player constantly in the news (Here are the memorables). Once in 1982 he was late to Atlanta Fulton County Stadium because he took the wrong exit multiple times. In 1984 he was involved in the biggest brawl in Major League Baseball against San Diego. In 1989, he got into an altercation with the Cubs when he chucked a baseball into their dugout (I don't know about you, but i want to meet someone who attended that game and ask what THAT was all about) His style for pick offs was very unorthodox, he would look through his legs as you see in the video.
And also, the eephus pitch is no eephus, its the "Pascual Pitch"

It may not be obvious by watching him but as a pitcher he was extremely reliable. After a couple of years of failed projects like Jay Tibbs, Floyd Youmans, Bob Sebra, Neal Heaton, etc, it was refreshing to see someone who was reliable out there! Dennis Martinez was also reliable starting in 1987. It was a novelty. By the way, Perez there had the best strikeout to walk ratio in 1989... that is quality. He only had really one awful year in 1985 when his arm did not work correctly. This person delivered.

would love to have a guy like this on my team. losing can screw with your head and a good laugh can always get you back in a good mindset.

The Expos put surnames on the backs of their team jackets, with the exception of Perez's -- his read "I-285," the Atlanta highway on which he once got "stranded" on his way to the park. Playing for the Braves at the time, he missed his exit and needed about 45 minutes to figure out an alternate route. Nothing dull about Pascual.

I remember one time Pasqual hit a double. The next batter came up and walked, so Pasqual walked to third base. The referees ran over and said "No no no you can't do that." Got to give the man credit for trying. We always got excited when he was scheduled to pitch.
