Why did Paslode send us 5 new Trim nailers? This story plus the professional review and comparison of the T250A-F16 verses the T250S-F26P. We shoot 10’s of thousands of finish nails on every job and have some good advice on which nailers actually perform well... so if you in the market for a new pneumatic finish nailer you won’t regret giving this video a view.
Just FYI we also own about every other brand of finish nailed on the planet as well including: Senco, Bostitch, Omer, AND Hitachi. We have been very pleased with the Omer and Senco nailers.

I love my Hitachi (now Matebo) 15 gauge angled pneumatic finish nailer. It does use oil, but never has sprayed any on the wall. I have had it for 3 plus years and have never had a misfire.

We switched from pneumatic finish nailers to dewalt 20v finish nailers. We have the angled and straight 16ga and 18ga and all work very well. We also tried the battery framing nailers, sent the dewalt back but the hitachi is great.

Skip the generation one, Milwaukee M18 18 gauge, Brad nailer. I got it before last Christmas; bad out of the box. My local repair shop sent it to the regional Milwaukee shop, in Eugene, Oregon. When it came back it sank two brads well past the surface of my test piece, & the second I touched the depth adjustment it went right back to it bad behavior. Proud brads, more than one brad fired, jammed striker. So, it’s back in the shop again. It has spent more time in the shop than in my hand. I hear the second generation is spot on, this one is beyond fixing. $249 not well invested for one tool.

This is 100% my experience with the 18g Gasless Milwaukee also. It is absolute garbage, can't fire pins below the surface & jams up literally every half dozen pins. It went back to Milwaukee 3 times & they never fixed a single issue. They should have been recalled & people refunded. In the UK they only gave a 1yr warranty on them as well & each time it went back to be fixed it was gone for over a month. Everyone who purchased one of these should have been given the Version 2 for free by Milwaukee. Here in the UK Milwaukee do t fix their own tools either they use local tool shops as authorised repair centers which is crap.

I have a gas Paslode trim nail gun. But now everything has gone full battery. I have several different pneumatic trim guns. DeWalt, Porter-Cable, Senco, Hitachi, Rigid, Etc.... I use a Grex for 23 Gage. I thought you guys would be the type to repair your own diaphragm gaskets. Lol Great video keep them coming!

I've used Paslode for over 20 years. The air framers are built like a tank. The gas operated finish nailers I have used for years with good success. I just bought a Milwaukee 18ga battery operated (no gas) finish nailer. I'm about to change out to Milwaukee. If the Milwaukee framer was on the market now -- it would be in the truck.

I agree that the Paslode Framing nailer’s are pretty solid… We’ve always use them and never had many problems. I’ll keep you guys posted on how these straight trim nailers hold up in the long run but so far we are really pleased.

Milwaukee tools have always been I step above most my book. Usually a little more expensive but you get what you pay for. I have a couple of friends who have just purchased the battery powered Dewalt framing nailer so I’m going to get my hands on that and check it out.

So do you tend to use the 16 gauge nailers due to cost of fasteners? We use 18 and 15 in a regular basis and was curious to any advantages to a 16.

Palsode are great tools when they work, very powerful and effective. They are power of pneumatic+cordless of Battery. The only problem is they are finicky. They are easy to repair, and don't break down much. But, they do need cleaning/break down more than the other because it Battery+Gas. I'd still not use anything else to be honest, even if they can be a pain at times. With the exception of wanting to Try a M18 nailer.

Haha & ironically Duo-Fast got taken over by Paslode. Palode are loathed here in the UK by most Carpenters as unreliable & temperamental & only like to work with Paslode gas & nails also not any 3rd party brands. My Bostitch gas framing nailer fires anything & has been seriously reliable for 10+ yrs. Also my other guns from 23g to metal connector & coil nailers are air & always reliable. Got Grex, Senco, Makita, Rigid, Fasco, Bostitch & Montana all air & all rock solid reliable.

i've been a trim and finish carpenter since 1999..in my opinion the best finish nailer paslode made was the 3250..it also holds an extra rack of nails..i've spoken to a few other carpenters, and they agree with me..the next model after the 3250, i bought one, and while a nicely balanced gun, the firing pin was very weak.. got mine changed 4 times until i had enough of it..was uneconomical to keep replacing..why paslode discontinued the 3250 is beyond me

totally agree..i've been a finish carpenter since 1999 as well, and totally agree with everything you've mentioned..why they discontinued the 3250 is beyond me.....best 16ga finish nailer ever..the model after it, i also bought..while a light and nicely balanced gun, i too changed the firing pin about 4 times, until it became uneconomical to do so

I got the Milwaukee 18g gasless brad nailer & it is honestly the worst tool I own, it doesn't fire pins below the surface even on max depth setting & constantly jams up. It went back to Milwaukee 3 times under warranty & they didn't sort a single issue. I own a load of Milwaukee M18 kit drills, impacts, saws etc but the pin gun is absolute garbage.
@stevenfoust3782
@stevenfoust3782 4 года назад
I’ve always used bostich Brad and 16g straight guns. Yes an angle gun fits tighter but a straight always gets the job done too. Never buy a bostich pinner it’s junk. I also use dewalt battery guns on small jobs and punch list stuff. Air is king for speed and guns are more precise.
@chewbacca7856
@chewbacca7856 2 года назад
Bostitch 16 ga nailer died. It kept getting jammed like Bob Marley. I'll try some oil to see if it stops the jamming but I got the paslode to see if if it performs better. I like the no oil option as a DIYer I don't use the nail guns all the time.
@WombleUK
@WombleUK 10 месяцев назад
I have reverted back to pneumatic nail guns for pretty much everything now. Only gas nailer i got now is an old original Bostitch 1st Fix which has been unbelievably reliable. Paslode are hated here in the UK as temperamental unreliable overpriced garbage. Air tools are so much more simple with basically the only things to fail being seals & gaskets. I got 23g pinners, 18g & 16g brad nailers & Bostitch strapshot nailer & Montana coil nailer all Pneumatic & all seriously reliable. I also got a gasless Milwaukee 18g & it is absolute garbage, 9 out of 10 pins dont sink below the surface even on max depth setting & it jams constantly, sent it back to Milwaukee & it came exactly the same. Its so bad they should have been recalled & people redunded.

I find it sort of strange you saying that about the first angled gun. I have the same model but in the straight version and ive never had any issues with it. I swear by mine and have suggested it to multiple other carpenters I work with. I wonder if these issues are unique to the angled model or maybe I just got a good one
